| Not the best day for Tonbo, but she still has another 2 days to make up for it. Tsubara is having a pretty solid day. No surprise Ema has PTSD, that's not something you can get over easily. The pressure Hinoki's father has put on her has cause her to cheat. I do have a prediction that she will come clean at the end, she will probably tie for 1st at the end of the tournament but confess what she did. Great emotional reunion moment between Tonbo & Igaiga. |

| Liked this episode a lot. Made me up my score from 8 to 9 (like the previous season) again. Of course: Igaiga again at the end - was always great to see him and Tonbo in the first season. But I also liked that Ema talked about her past a bit. And Hinoki is doing well. The plot there is developing better than I had expected. Liked how they gave her father also a bit background. I thought they were just some "rich guys" but as he explained how he had to work really hard for money ... I could understand him pretty well. (Maybe he actually fears his daughter ending up poor having to struggle in life and cares for her in an odd way.) Still not something he should force on his daughter. But it feels different than someone that just wants their children to do well in sports so they can use them to brag when talking to other parents. Thanks for the manga info, kuroneko99. I hope we get more development with the father - he should talk that openly with his daughter (so maybe she can understand him a bit) not the other older guys there in the club room. |
| Hinoki's dad has a reason for being a terrible father but it doesn't change my opinion of him. | The 2nd day of the Kyushu Women's Open with the 4 girls of Tonbo, Ema, Hinoki and Tsubaru, competition is heating up with more exposure of Tonbo's workarounds that keeps the 3 other girls on their toes expecting the unexpected, while keeping tabs on their own as well. The course having swamps doesn't bode well for Ema having triggered her PTSD after the horrendous accident, and even one of Grandpa Gon's friends had the same exact situation, but was still able to live, and Ema not giving up her love for golf, certainly is her biggest strength. But Hinoki's father's reasoning being of "results maketh the fame and fortune of the golfer" from his experience being poor, that is quite the stretch to force his own daughter to excel under pressure, something that's completely switched off with Tonbo. Having Igarashi around certainly makes Tonbo better, because he's like a parental figure to her. |
