Imo, this final battle got dragged out since it was carried from last time and we had plenty of buildup. Nonetheless, this was still Rick's biggest and most important fight of the season.

Broughston's dream of fighting someone as strong as him came true. Rick got another power boost and this turned into one of those really close fights. Pretty predictable way of storytelling but it is what it is.

A fight between S ranks is like a clash of gods, far beyond the reach of ordinary people. But Rick had the determination to turn that dream into reality and joined their ranks.

What really makes the heart come alive is the bond between master and disciple. Fanservice is nice, but this moves people, and that people is ME. Hell, we even had the classic shounen power-up moment. Even so, it's still an awesome fistfight between tough guys. This is the most wholesome thing I've seen in a while. Also the manliest—pretty sure my beard grew and I got some chest hair.

FANTASTIC finale. Started off as an OK series, but slowly became one of faves from the season. Such a fun show. Will miss dearly.

Broughston's backstory right at the finale, he was the only orc who understood his assignment to grow his tribe, but that traded with the aspect that his entire tribe left him alone, until they were decimated by Mother Nature. And through the human of Reinhard that tried to attack him being the author of the Legends of the Hero Yamato, that dream being to defeat Kaiser Alsapiet, that was the very start of the foundation of Orichalcum Fist. But more than seeking a like-minded partner whom he can properly duel with, fate had it that by training Rick, Broughston was training his potential sparring partner in the process, and that quarter thumbs-up was the fight that sealed the deal to chase each of their dreams.

Rick and Broughston's sparring is quite the battle of power and strength of a fistfight, that if not for Mizett evacuating the audience with his high-level magic, lives would've been lost. And in the process, Rick's inborn skill of Reckless Soul getting awakened by will, it's literate plot armour to surpass his limits against a teacher whom he thought was impossible to defeat, and despite losing the battle, he won the war, and also fulfilled Broughston's dream all the more. Moreover, they got the 2nd Jewel of 6, and that's all that matters.

Haha welp, Angelica has had more than her fair share of weird things with Orichalcum Fist, and the hot springs trip with Reanette...will have to hold until they get back home to settle the affair.

What a great surprise of a fantastic finale. I'm legitly surprised by this show, it's definitely the best Ossan-esque anime so far.

This match is as I expect from the final match, but instead of flashy combination of magic and martial arts like previous match, it's more of a raw punch, or as the anime say, brawling.

So to rank the top 4 of this tournament, the first place is obviously Broughston, no matter how much he deny it, I mean he didn't even use his healing spell yet. The second place is our ossan hero Rick, I assume he's stronger than Kelvin even if they never fight directly. The third place is Kelvin but he's surely the first place in term of sexiness. And in the far fourth place, dragonman Geese. I hope he realized his mistake and get more discipline but I don't think we'll ever see him again even if this anime has season 2.

Now it's harder to gauge other members of the party, but Mizett having the ability to mass teleport people very selectively is super impressive (I'm glad he let Kelvin watch the match with his own eyes).

Talking about the future, surely I want season 2 without a single doubt. But for those who'll continue in manga or LN will have to decide to read manga or LN because they're different. This is not my own opinion or some random internet opinions but from the manga author tweet. Not my problem though since I can always wait for anime production, no matter how long it is.

Doesn't get more manlier than two men punching each other with reckless abandon.

The whistle version of the ED and the last line for Rick that basically tells it's never too late to learn was a nice send off for the season.

Final fight was awesome.

Overall a decent fantasy adventure series. Could have used a better, more interesting plot, and the freaking out faces from Ange and Rick got old really fast.
Gets a 6/10 from me.
Probably won't ever rewatch it, but I'll pick up the sequel if it ever gets one.

yea I agree, and I actually quite liked the whistle version, so I hope that when (/if) they release the soundtrack they release this as a version too

this show unironically picked up a LOT in the latter half of it, it was one of the only shows I watched this season & I'm gonna miss it a lot... I hope it gets picked up for a season two sometime soon

You know it’s crazy I had my doubts about this show at the start and was a very vocal critic. Genuinely thought it would be some of the most mid shit ever and it slowly grew on me over the last month or so and I ended up liking it quite a bit 😂

It ain’t the greatest story, and I still get annoyed with how dumb Rick is at times, but I think it’s better executed than say a “Parry everything”. Rick and the other characters, especially Angelica were fun and I’ll miss seeing them do stupid shit. This finale was a really nice way to wrap up the season and set up the next part of the story, sucks that we probably won’t get more of it but there’s always the manga.

Am I the only one that got Re:Monster vibes from Broughston backstory with the orcs btw? Would love to see him take on the MC from that lol

Man they blue balled us with the Onsen stuff as well. I’d love to see Rick and the others get some time off and hit one up..

No full review on this one but it was a solid 7.5 thanks to Angelica, the Kelvin fight, this ending here and the second half overall. I just liked this idk lol. Shows like this remind me of why I never drop anything, sometimes shit just takes a while to get going

Short backstory and mostly Broughston vs Rick which was hype. Rick used his skill after all and it can only activate in dire times like it was shown but is very op considering he almost went equal with Broughston with that. Angelica's leaving but since she'll be training under Broughston she'll be back before long but will miss her, came to like her a lot. I need a whole episode of onsen trip with Reanette, they gotta make it.

Really fun anime, initially wasn gonna skip this but glad I picked it up and it's been very fun since. Very much hoping for a new season.

The hidden gem for this season. I almost got worried that they took the op out because it's the one song that I can never skip over. That aside the Orc backstory was compelling and interesting (r.i.p to his family tho...Like you lose your family in a tragic event and dont feel sad over the deaths, but instead realize how lonely he truly is. That is some hardcore shit like jeez dude should of spent more time reading naruto or something wholesome about friendship)

On the flip side. The quarter thumbs up must now be recognized as a signal to fight. So any hitch hikers I see are now catching these hands. Jokes aside. As for a season two It be nice to get but, I'm not holding my breath. If anything can someone tell me what chapter the manga picks up after the series? Or light novel too.

Forget to say one thing that I just notice after rewatch but it deserved to be a separated comment.

Broughston didn't even move from his spot the whole time of the match, he's just standing there... trading blows with Rick...

I don't know if Broughston will be pushed to his limit in current manga/LN, FYI anime adapt 6 out of 10 manga volume and 4 out of 14 LN volume, both manga and LN are still ongoing.

They went for tournament matches throughout the season. But it was pretty enjoyable, last few episodes had good fights and the character chemistry is also syncing well by the end. Another season would definitely make it better. 8/10, hoping for S2

I read the manga before so I wasn't expecting much, but the anime surprisingly ended up being quite entertaining, definitely better than the other Ossan show this season. The only real complaint I have is the unnecessary censorship. I wouldn't mind a second season.

Was surprised how much I came to like this show. And how much I came to like Angelica. Normally, she is the kind of female character who just annoys me, but not here. Even if it's hinting at a future Love Triangle.

Best comeback of the season, turned it around after first 3 eps and just kept climbing.Man went from being whiny and obliviously strong to standing ground and gave his teacher the fight he wanted, what a development.

Finale wasnt flashy or grand as Kelvin's fight but more personal and raw exchange.Sweet how all the Orihalcum Fist members looked out after each other.Seriously man, last 4 eps especially was so great, very deserving for 2nd season.

Its an easy Flat 8/10

Inspiring episode until the end.
A reminder specially for old people like me can dream again... owo
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

Question: I started this Anime, but need a soft-spoiler: Will the MC understand how strong they are within these 12 episodes? (Or eventually in the Light Novel, if someone knows?) I am not into that kind of running gag, when the MC never realizes, how strong they actually are.

Nice episode: just a brawl between two orcs OP friends with a sweet end. Fortunately they didn't spend half of the episode on Broughston's backstory.
Had doubts about this anime and I Parry Everything, but they both turned out to be better than I thought. Though, Ossan is definitely better because annoying stupidity of the MC ended on, like, ep. 6

@OrielBel Ah glad to hear, thank you! I was afraid it would end up like another certain Anime, where the MC unfortunately didn't realize how strong they are. I get the appeal of that running gag a little bit, but for me, it is unfortunately not as funny as the author maybe intended it to be, especially when it drags on for a long time.

Broughtson's back story was pretty good, we got to understand him.
I like how Rick decided to go with the quarter thumbs challenge.
I enjoyed that fight from start to finish, Rick has come such a long way.
This was a great series from start to finish.
9/10

It was a fun show overall, the latter half of the show was defintely more enjoyable than the former half. Glad they didn't drag on the thing with Rick being 'weak' like some other shows of the similar theme did and Ange was pretty annoying at first so nice to see she developed into a more likeable character.

So glad we got to see Rick's innate skill again and even a better explanation of it. Now I get why it's so risky since it seems like it takes a toll on him and requires him to be pushed to the brink. Great fight overall and really cool to see more of Broughston's backstory as well as getting a bit more info on their "Dream".

Gotta be the Dark Horse of the season for me. Went in not expecting much and came out being my favorite. Mondays couldn't come soon enough and I hate Mondays lol I'm going to miss hearing that "old school" style OP they went for. Thought it wrapped up quite nicely. Satisfying ending, but it leaves the door open for a season 2. Will definitely be watching if that does happen.

Overall just a well rounded anime and satisfying ending, 1000x better than I Parry Everything. Wouldn't mind a season 2 of this at all
