Dairokuten is so silly sometimes. She gets intimidating but then acts lazy and doesn't seem to care what's around her.

This penultimate episode feels kinda underwhelming imo if it serves as a buildup to the finale. However, they are keeping Cefiro relevant so that's a plus for her character role.

Dairokuten needlessly and carelessly interfered the ball to get Ike back to Ivalias to rescue Cefiro in Alesta faltering and falling into human hands, it's an emergency.

The Alliance of Kings gaining the upper hand against the demons, and their small army isn't enough to disperse to everywhere that's in danger. That's where Gunther and the dwarves come in to assist Ike, and although they don't earn anything from the war, their loyalty proves without a shadow of the doubt alongside the humans residing in his land, to protect the co-existing land they call home, regardless of the consequences, even with Ike's request especially for the humans. And with the large brigade, the 4-day march to Alesta beckons, hoping that Cefiro and her army can still suffice...only if she was able to hold up against regular humans, not mages, archers and the like.

The commander that recognized her just as when the humans retreated back then, E Rudle at least held her humiliation back until the rest of the 7th Corps are dealt with when Ike and his brigade reaches Alesta. While Jiron goes to Alesta's walls to scout enemies on route, seeing Cefiro's clothes on a scarecrow display hanging on a pole is clearly seen as a threat, but at least she's alive, it's just how much she's wounded that they don't know.

It's do or die for the final assault...

All according to Cefiro's master plan. Now her boy-toy in shining armor will rescue her damsel in distress ass.

This episode:
-Demon Lord, like her nearby subordinates, could likely solo lots of the enemy
-Somehow Ike's pig and succubus don't know who the Demon Lord is (like.. how)
-Dwarves and humans are aligned with Ike, thanks to the humans being the true evil
-Learned Cefiro (and Ike) ARE busted, BUT, they can hit their own people and are very vulnerable (I'm guessing can't use multiple spells at once, otherwise would shield herself)
-scythe girl SHOULD be dead, since genocidal guy just burned a bunch of defeated Orcs to death

It takes 11 episodes to make me realized this is a bad anime, but there's only one episode left so I'll watch it anyway.

I guess the reason Maou couldn't help Cefiro was because she was helping Ike's army? But then why not just go help her afterwards? I still don't get why it has to be Ike rescuing her.

So you're telling me they have literal teleportation magic and Maou still crashed Ike's engagement party like a meteor? And it's going to take Ike FOUR DAYS for the army to reach Cefiro even though she's supposedly got her back to the wall here?

Is this an adaptation thing or a writing thing? It seems like the author had a great start with Ivalias and then it kind of fell apart. I really like the premise and some of the plot points have been interesting (Ike vs the other general for example) but then falls short in other places like it wasn't thought all the way through. Maybe it's just me?

Return of the just-slightly-too-long-it's-awkward transition scenes. I'm not sure if the director is trying to go for suspense/drama here but I'm not engaged enough with the plot for that to work. Almost seems like this would've been better had it been half the length with the drawn out parts cut.
Censorship is vandalism.

Damn and here I was thinking the human dude and Cefiro were gonna be a ship a few episodes ago lol. I still don’t get why demon lord couldn’t teleport over to help Cefiro rather than wasting time going to Ike then having him takes days to rally an army and get to Cefiro location.. but anyway

Does set up a finale where we have humans and demons fighting side by side, will probably have abysmal CGI but I know Yamamoto will cook up on the OST so we move

Show had some interesting concepts but I’ll be lying if I said I’d miss it when it’s over

Good episode, and obviously expected Ceciro to get taken down (but maybe that's not supposed to be any form of surprise given the name of the episode revealed last week).

Interested to see how the season will be finalised next week, and if a second season will instantly get confirmed since it seems like it might be finishing at a bit of a cliffhanger situation.

Poor Cefiro-sama, she is now hold captive in that castle by orders of E Rudle, the Commander of Red Dragon Division. I believe Dairokuten could have been done much more to save her, being a strong figure in this anime.

Let’s hope Ike-sama comes with a great plan to save her, she shouldn’t die. Jiron is so funny😂

I love OP theme, it is perfect for this anime.

Stupidest thing ever -- has teleportation magic, but is going to WALK 4 days to the battle.

Make it make sense. (And I like the anime, but that was just idiotic).

Wow next episode is last? Not sure how they can have an epic battle eluded from the OP and not have it feel lame in just one episode... but ok.

Not sure if I'd really want another season of this, I enjoyed MC and plot concept but the supporting cast is sooooo bad imo. At least the op and ed were nice.

@WienGirl Yeah, I thought so too. Except I guess he cannot teleport a bunch of troops at once. Still, he should have gone & scoped it out ahead of time, instead of giving his enemies time to win. At least come up with a diversion.

Definitely a letdown episode. He has teleportation magic. Why in the world is he marching? True, it may tire himself out, but sometimes sacrifices are necessary

I understand that the Dark Lord didn't initially help Cefiro because he went to assist Ike's army, but why couldn't he help her afterward? Also, isn't Cefiro supposed to be a super powerful mage? Because at no point did she use any kind of barrier to cast spells.

Well, anyway, there's only one episode left, and I doubt this conflict will continue further. Ike will manage to win somehow, and with the help of the dwarves and some humans, it's possible they will succeed; but I think that from Cefiro's army, only she remains alive since it took them four days to arrive.

Rudle is definitely a capable general and opponent.
Nice to see the demon lord at least protected Ike's and while he was away.

I have ADD, ADHD & AUTISM, but this won't stop me. Let's keep having fun together.

@Sheol01

Yep, on the scoping it out ahead of time - especially as he already knew Ceciro was losing. And surely he could have taken a few troops with him? :)

Kept thinking, did I miss something about the teleportation magic but... no.... the writer just ignored that fact completely. :)

Like I said, I've liked much of the anime, but that point drove me nuts.

I didn't realize that there is only one episode remaining, so it looks like it will end with a battle between Ike and E Rudle. Even if there's a winner I don't think it will resolve the other issues that were brought up such as the food and supplies that Ike was negotiating with Xenobia's leader, plus there are characters that were introduced like the hero girl from early on and the girl that kind of looks like Satie.

Anyways, I'm thinking that the person that saved Ike's town was the demon lord herself but now Ike has to save Cefiro. Maybe he should've let the dwarven leader kill the commander from a couple episodes ago...

Absolutely terrible episode that was 80 percent a waste of time. Second to last of the cour and yet I feel NOTHING. The whole thing is they teleported back but now have to ride four f***ing days to get to the battle? This is beyond ridiculous and infuriating to watch.

MC needs to save his possible heroine as fast as possible!!!
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

Yeah just as I thought, a rescue arc incoming eh.

But yeah, really dumb of Cefiro for keeping that dude alive from episodes ago. Whatever though, Ike and the rest gonna fuck some shit up, ofc.

Pretty much just setup for Ike to defeat that human general and win in the finale. Everything Ike did came together to help him at the time of his need like the dwarves and humans. Now give us Cefiro x Ike kiss in the finale.

Walks 4 days...

Instant Teleport...

lol

How long would it have took to teleport some of the elite forces instantly in 1 day to bait the human army to split up and lessen the attacks on Cefiro?... (while everyone else continues walking)

But nope... despite being a "master tactician" (or at least he's suppose to)... dude doesn't think about this strat huh...

.

Also... how exactly is Ike gonna "unite" the world? LOL...

From how it looks, Ike is gonna have to actually unite by force, aka conquer the world by killing off all the humans (alliance of kings). LUL

bruh, there's no way Cefiro isn't dead when she was already surrounded long before dude even made it back home to sit his ass in his chair and take his sweet ass time. Then all of a sudden she wasn't surrounded and fighting normally still, only to take an arrow just like our MC did near the start....do these so called demon lord general mages have 0 protection against regular arrows? lol

Also, why would Cefiro even need to be alive at all? Her clothes served as bait enough and unless they parade around her corpse, she will continue to serve as bait regardless of her being actually alive or not. Not saying this because I wanted to her dead or anything, but our MC's logic doesn't make any sense.
