Second episode is here and we have the protagonist actually getting out of the house with his robot wife for a picnic. As awkward as it sounds, it got more complicated when the weather turned into rain.

Also, it seems this show loves standard housewife tropes related to anime such as making bentos. Might be a recurring trend but fits with this show. I guess as this anime progresses, they'll have to make the best of their relationship against any obstacle.

We're really dropping the whole "no emotions" thing after just one episode, huh?

Taking your robot wife outside comes with its own share of challenges, namely power consumption and the stares and comments from passersby, judgemental or otherwise. I wonder if any future waifubot owners are taking notes. Standout moments of the episode were Takuma getting horny over Mina's stomach compartment and vibration and attempting to care for her in the rain despite her not needing it.

The phone call from the sister does have me looking forward to the next episode. Will Onii-chan end up being a disappointment to his family?

I say peak romcom. I, for one, welcome our robotic overlords. I like it how the protagonist was embarrassed of having a robot wife in front of the highschool girls, and then the senpai scene being more accepting. This is peak kino man-made horror beyond my comprehension and I love it, this is the future, human relationships are past, buy your robo waifu now.

This episode was fun and enjoyable to see them care for one another and get closer on a picnic.

It was cute how she doesn't know things, like no fire in the park, but learns as she goes along.

"you are a liar" and she second and third guesses everything he was saying, that was hilarious

And the guy at work saying he as glad that the MC treated Mina better than just as an appliance, was also heartwarming.

The wedding rings were a nice touch too, Mina doesn't under the feeling, but knows that she can't stop looking at the ring, that is interesting for the AI

And she answers the phone telling the sister she is married, oh that's sure to setup a funny episode indeed

This show has been innocent, please don't try turn it into H-anime stuff
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

This episode was really adorable and wholesome. The date was really heartwarming and the way Takuma started caring for Mina when it started raining even knowing that she is a housework robot, was really nice of him. The OP and ED are awesome.
This episode was so sweet that my sugar level went straight up. Mina is the best waifu of this season imo.
I am really looking forward to the next episode.

I said it in the first episode discussion's thread topic and I'll say it again here: Thank God true transgressive romance in anime has not died. The existence of series like this prove that and that the flame remains lit.

And by "true", I mean something other than ones where it's supposed to be bold, daring, and scandalous because male main character is 16 years and two months old but female main character is only 15 years and seven months old and is part of a delinquent unofficial scooter club.

These are the types of series I wish there were multiple of each and every season instead of the milquetoast romcoms. Like, it's something automatically engaging to watch in the sense that each and every even minor action taken is fascinating for consideration of the implications and consequences. The tiniest passing comment or gesture might push this living machine's evolution in an unable-to-be-foreseen yet most rewarding direction. Goosebumps.

He's not just engaging in some flirtatious co-habitation with a food prep and home service model appliance. He's a pioneer.

Anyone not caring for this one on the basis of the nature of the romance itself is...well...probably was destined to dislike it pretty much from inception, but it isn't as if there aren't 17 million other, non-human-android pairing romances as an alternative for them to indulge in and enjoy instead.

Asking a robot to go on a picnic while it's raining seems a bit tonedeaf if not cruel. But thankfully, Mina is level 8 waterproof.

The fact that Mina's hair basically acts as solar panels is really cool. I wonder if something like this is actually possible in real life. Her having a compartment inside her belly to store or freeze/heat staff is also extremely handy. Damn. I kinda want a robot like that now. Not for romance but to do chores and be a useful appliance.

I know what kind of anime this is but man some of the things Takuma says or does feel cringe. Like him being excited about Mina's belly was just weird. I can tolerate this sort of stuff because I've seen far worse anime protagonists. I feel like these types of interactions like him getting constantly flustered might've worked better later on instead of literally the 2nd episode. Tho I guess this means there may be bigger moments like these in later episodes.

All that being said, him buying rings for themselves was actually kinda wholesome tho. It's too bad Mina can't wear it on her fingers tho.

Mina meeting Takuma's sister should be good. I wonder if she's going to be another anime sister talking some sense to her brother.

I really love this show, it’s cute and all, but the only real issue is that Mina is with the MC out of an obligation due to her being a robot house appliance essentially. This episode started to rectify that issue by introducing the idea of Mina not just letting Takuma do things because he’s her owner, but because she wants him to. It’s gonna be interesting to see how Mina develops a sort of free will and grows into the person we see in the ED.

Thought the picnic date was really cute and Takuma getting turned on by Mina’s stomach oven had me dying. This dude has the weirdest fetishes. Glad they showed what happens to Mina when her battery runs low too, I was just wondering last week how long she can stay on.

That moment gave us the traditional romance series “carry a girl on your shoulder” trope and the whole “I want you to want me to touch you” bit which goes back to what I was saying about Mina changing from being so robotic and docile to more emotive and expressive

The wedding ring bit at the end was so cute too and Mina is slowly learning what it means to like and love stuff 😩. Can’t wait for the next episode.

Loving that we're already getting the inklings of true affection between them both. Senpai was also (unknowingly) supportive, so dude's not getting the whole "I'm going to hide our relationship and hurt the one I profess to love in the process" trope train going, thank GOD.

I really like Mina so I’m gonna stick with the show, but the MC is pretty cringe haha. I mean, he’s a nice guy, but him trying to make a (so far mostly emotionless) robot his wife is definitely something. And him giving her a ring and gets all worked up about touching metal parts… Regardless, I’m having a fun time with this one. Also, the ending song absolutely slaps.

well only the second episode and Mina has already shown the emotion of disappointment, Snake eyes and Mina have a pretty nice dynamic so far and snake eyes senpai also seems quite nice.

This is the first anime I've seen with this plot so i don't have anything to compare it to, I am reading a GL manga though which has a similar plot but I'm not gonna try compare them too much mainly because this anime is very wholesome were the manga is a ero manga, the robot in that manga or "android" as she labelled is far more humanoid than Mina is and at least so far. Nadeshiko and Akane are my preferred mc's over Snake eyes and Mina.

This was a very sweet one, Mina may be a robobabe but she can also appreciate the joy of being outdoors, and this little picnic revealed some cool things about her, like having a built in fridge and microwave, as well as letting her hair down which allows for her solar power to be more efficient. And this led to that goofy moment where Takuma was happy to have a girl that vibrated for him lmao, great line, it’s an essential of a quality wife after all.

And it was nothing but good vibes until the rain struck, but thankfully Mina is waterproof and just had a low battery, this got us that cute scene of Takuma staying behind even tho Mina wanted him to leave her there, ain’t no way that was happening, not just for the wife aspect but also that someone might steal her lol. This made Mina sus of Takuma lying more, another cute moment that’s making her seem like she has emotions after all, I can see them slowly developing. And Takuma’s coworker seems like a nice guy, I like his philosophy on treating Mina like family, as much as I hate the idea of robots taking over I would probably be unable to not treat them like a person, that’s part of what comes with making them look like us. And that last scene was yet another very cute one with Mina admiring her ring for half an hour lol, she may not have a concept of liking something but she’s certainly into the ring.

And looks like Takuma’s sister is coming next episode, based on her reaction over the phone, I’m looking forward to seeing her in-person reaction to Mina.

It was a cute episode, a bit cringe but still tolerable for me. I really liked the ending, and it looks like we'll see a new female character in the next episode. Maybe Mina-chan will have a rival? Btw, I'm hoping for a plot twist akin to "Demon Seed". Lol

Maybe I'm overthinking it but when Mina answered the phone and declared herself married it seemed like she was trying to keep away any would be rivals and on that note I shudder to think if she learns the emotion of jealousy and what she would do if she thought Takuma is cheating on her....

On a separate subject it's cool that her hair acts like solar panels.

This is one of the dumbest shows I’ve ever watched. I try to give a new anime a wide berth and some time to develop a plot (and my interest) but I couldn’t take the stupid plot anymore. Thankfully this season has a lot of depth.

I’m quite enjoying this but have little idea why. It should be garbage but is actually really pleasant. I don’t get why the artificial skin stops just below her chin and why it can’t be all over, maybe she’s a budget model. And also, if there’s room for a heat exchanger in her abdomen, couldn’t that space be better used with a battery extender? And if she has solar hair, how about a windmill too for night charging?
She’s nearly as inconvenient to run as an electric car 😂 Maybe when the charging infrastructure gets better, she can be topped up at a supercharger in minutes, but the car drivers queuing to charge may get annoyed…

People didn’t even gave it a try and just rated it that’s why I think its rating is low and according to me it’s totally unfair. This anime is underrated and feels like needs more attention. I gave it a 10/10 too.

Takuma wanting Mina to go out for a walk, and instead, takes her for a leisure picnic instead. However, the ingredients that Mina prepared needs to be prepared on an open stove, so those types of food are out. And as much as Mina tries to acclimate her robot body for both heating and cooling for Takuma's sake, the outdoors is open heaven for her, as much as Takuma is happy living life with her.

But still, as a robot, Mina is not waterproof against Mother Nature, and while Takuma thankfully does all of the maintenance work for her, he just can't leave her alone just like that to recharge. He may get funny ideas treating her like a human, but at least he's compassionated on her progression to humanity, and asking his colleague for advice on how he would treat Mina, is quite the dilemma. Still, Takuma getting Mina a ring shows that her programming is slowly changing.

Takuma humanizing Mina will still need some time...

This time they spent time on a picnic in the park, we are also shown more of Mina's features as a robot.

Even so, Takuma still treats his robot wife as special as a human. And also Takuma also bought Mina a wedding ring, indicating that they were married. It was just cute to see Mina's innocent and confused expression on her face.

What gets me about this is: Takumi only likes Mina so much, because she is the only female existence living with a seriously lonely dude like him. This anime feels so sad, despite it trying to be wholesome. It even has some funny moments in the park, but I can't shake off my feelings of sadness for the whole situation.

It's somewhat sad to see Takuma, as despite being in love with Mina, he's actually alone. This episode was better than the previous one and, although it sounds strange, Mina appeared more expressive. Also, it's nice in a way that they both see each other as family. Now, what will his sister say when she finds out her brother's wife is a robot?

I feel the shows current rating is due to people not liking the theme of a human having feelings for a robot. But the actual show is well balanced and a nice slice of life / romance comedy. I think the upcoming episodes will flesh things out.

It would actually be an interesting twist, lmao. If in the end no matter how well he treats her, she either breaks or uses some twisted robot logic, and everything ends in a bloodbath. Not cute and terrifying, but at least a more realistic depiction and a lesson not to get too attached to a 'home appliance'.
