| Every chapter just breaks my heart more and more... is this, probably, the best arc of Spy x Family? One of the best, that's for sure. These two suffered so much, I did NOT expect such minor characters to receive so dramatic and detailed backstory ;___; you two should have talked about it, not hide your feelings this long Also... little Donovan Desmond!!! | One of the best chapters of Spy x Family. Never thought I'd care for these characters so much in such a short amount of time. Teared up when Henderson thought Martha died. This is incredibly tragic. Just behind Loid's backstory in my eyes. People who call this series "mid" and "boring" should go read these phenomenal chapters. |

| Incredible arc, beautiful progression of the star crossed lovers that are Donovan and Martha. With SxF's smooth, and crisp artstyle, their daunted expressions were phenomenally brought to life. |

| Their letters were underwhelming at first with how formal he is, but his care for her from danger was sweet after. It's frustrating how they never worked out yet, since he was forced into marriage, believed her dead, and I think she never revealed her love for him. What's more interesting is seeing young Donovan express his belief of peace never being attainable due to humans being liars, and enjoying Henry's teachings. |
| me basically throughout entire chapter: but honestly I love author anti war rhetoric by showing how ugly, tragic and sad war is. Donovan: "Human beings are simply liars" Hard to disagree with you kid, if only people could read.. eachothers... minds.... OH MY GOD! |

| The saddest thing is, he didn't get to know Martha was actually alive. And quite expectedly, by the time he got to know, it was way too late for both of them. I think this backstory would get concluded next chapter, but these really were some set of chapters. |

| Tragic story... We saw young Donovan and now have an idea about his beliefs. Don't think his mind changed about humans being liars, so what is he planning, to genocide the west? He seems like Eren-type of character. |

Agreed, and that's really saying something given how much he already successfully executed that same concept in the twilight flashback, both with him as a child and when he met Frankie. Loving this arc, and not surprised to see many others enjoying it just as much! |

| A Donovan Desmond backstory/hint??? I am sooooo in!!! 32 pages of Spy x Family today after starving for no chapters for weeks??? Wow!!! 😍📚 This arc is sooooo heavy. Martha fought for Henry's safety. Henry got his monocle after torture. He bowed down to his father so he can retain his teaching position. And Donovan is a prick!!! 😖 That wedding ring is supposed to go to Martha... 😭 Why are these backstories better than the main story? |

| Im genuininely surprised with how good this arc has been, how the author has presented the war theme, with this never ending cycle of warring, the propaganda surrounding war, etc. and how we are viewing this from the perspective of henry and martha and now seeing a young donovan desmond and how he is forming his opinion at a young age. Really interesting and heartbreaking. Honestly its been so long since i had been eagerly waiting for a spy x family ch. |

| They fixed the thread of this chapter, nice Letters were the only way to communicate, but then the war got worse. And now Henry had to change...fuck. The last panel...Martha :'( Desmond showed up, he was Henry's student and he already had his thoughts about the war. |
 Man this manga makes me wanna become a pacifist even thought I hate the thought. I love how Endou-san manages to convey the brutality and tragedy of war with minimal blood and gore. |
