| Tatsuya being tasked to capture Zhou seems like a big responsibility. Being that Zhou has influence, this was never an easy task from the start. It appears Tatsuya can't complete this task unless he gets help. Feels like a buildup episode and it's the first one of the new arc. Looks like they are protraying Zhou as a central antagonist of this arc for the time being. |

| Let the final arc of the season, the Ancient City Insurrection, begin. Following the conclusion of the Nine School Competition and the commencement of the second semester, Ayako and Fumiya brought a letter directly from Maya to Tatsuya. In the letter, Maya requested Tatsuya's assistance in apprehending Zhou Gongjin. While the Kuroba family had been tracking Zhou Gongjin, they lost his trail near Kyoto. It had seemed that the "Traditionalists," an ancient faction of magicians, were aiding Zhou Gongjin's escape. These Traditionalists had long-standing conflicts with the Kushima family. Consequently, Tatsuya sought cooperation in capturing Zhou Gongjin through Fujibayashi, Kudou Retsu's grandson. Fujibayashi confirms that Kudou Retsu is willing to meet face-to-face, and the time is set. The meeting will take place at the Kudou primary residence in Ikoma. Tatsuya acknowledges the convenience of the meeting, prompting Fujibayashi to reveal an ominous expression as she informs him of Retsu's anticipation. Tatsuya recognizes the meeting as a double-edged sword. Fujibayashi cautions him about delving into the darker realms of Japan's magic society. She asserts her presence for the meeting day and bids him farewell until then. ASCA is back after doing the OP for last season, now handling the ED for this arc. Eh, I prefer her OP. |

| Minami gets some screentime, finally 12:07 修験道 (shugendou/shugendō) - Japanese mountain asceticism incorporating Shinto and Buddhist concepts 16:44 "You've upped your game, Miyuki." Game of holding back lol. Reminds me of how she straight up murdered some Blanche members in season 1. 19:55 悟り (satori) - enlightenment; spiritual awakening; satori (Buddhism) There is a scene after credits. Whoa, that last shot caught my attention. Must be related to the shot with Miyuki and shattered glass shards in the OP. |

| The Kuroba sibs did quite well in the NSC this year. No matter how advanced a society is there would always be outcasts it seems. Miyuki's jealousy is as amusing as ever. Still that sure was quite the new student council to take charge of in the new school year. Tatsuya and Miyuki's ambush of the ambush sure was fun. Still the implications that the enemy might attack their allies that are not part of their efforts to capture Zhou sure was unpleasant. Pretty nice ending theme to star the new arc with. Bringing his allies into the fold was the best choice. |

| What's with the random jumps from one day in a certain month to another day in another certain month? The new arc has just started but is already looking like a rushed mess. Hard to top the low standards of the last arc, but at this pace, it does seem feasible lol. Also, we know Maya is a biiiiiiiig schemer, we really do.. really really do, so why do they need to reaffirm this same fact after every two episodes?? They assume we've a memory as bad as Miyuki's attempts to hide her obsession with her onii-sama????? |

| It's interesting how they concluded their friends were likely being targeted just from the initial confusion during the attack of the ancient magicians, and deliberated on what potential consequences would come of it. I feel like These genius-level high school students are always having much more complicated discussions regularly as if it is a board room meeting discussing new business strategies...makes my daily life look dull as heck. Oh nice, a new Kyoto-styled ED theme with Minami as the main girl. What did we do to deserve 3 different openings in one season? I feel like all of my luck for the rest of the year has run out already. Mikihiko x Mizuki after the post-credit theme is a cute pairing. 4 more episodes to go. Doesn't seem like a whole lot, but the new ED kind of makes up for it. |
| Nice way to kick off my weekend. Banger episode to start off the last arc for this season. Got a lot of great content this week, super excited to have some of the gang from school back on screen. Also loving the small focus that Minami is getting so far. She has always been an interesting character, I'd love to learn more about her. The new ED this week was killer. Excellent art and the music was very fitting. I'm really pleased with the different ED's this season, all of them have been very good. The after credit scene was awesome too. I laughed when Tatsuya told Erika she was a bad matchup for fighting and also defending Mizuki at the same time. LOL she is too aggro, Erika is the W key queen. I'm very excited to get into this arc. Whatever that quick flash with Miyuki in frame was... Tune in next week! |

| It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it, is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service. |

| One thing that I'm happy about of this episode was some much needed screentime for Erika. Here's hoping this arc has more moments with her. =3 The job to capture Zhou is going to be a tough one, not helped by how a few ancient magicians attacked Miyuko and Tatsuya before they were quickly taken down. I'm not surprised that Miyuki got jealous after hearing about Tatsuya calling Fujibayashi on her private number, but it was still amusing nonetheless. The new ED song from ASCA was nice. The previous ED song was better, but I like this one a good amount. |

| can't say i didn't see Miyuki being student council president happening, but things seem to be moving too fast for their second year. i guess it's coz everything is happening outside the school so not much involvement needed for Tatsuya's friends. but things are starting to look crazy now with these ancient magic users singling tatsuya out. |

| Well, that was one awkward dinner. Minami was just about to jump at the poor guy. You just have to love this show, all these secret plots and then there is still highschool love drama in between. |

| Zhou Gongjin is a villain that scares me, he's kind of cold, really powerful and pretty ruthless plus he has some sick style. I know I shouldn't like him but he's like some snake that hypnotizes its prey with its eyes <shudder> scary! So Tatsuya goes to ask his ninja master for help, and that guy says yes then OPENS his eyes!? Shit's about to go down. Lovely new ED. |
