There's Anos taking care of business as usual. It's amazing how much he is capable of when dealing with both humans and demons in this episode.

He's also approaching problems carefully while analyzing what he could find. Not too much action this time and this felt more like a buildup. That ending scene looked magical imo.

Ah, a new character by the name of Igareth.

Following the downfall of Erdomaid, Anos persists in his quest to unveil the enigma of Avos Dilhevia, known as the "Demon King of Tyranny." He journeys to a small town. However, Anos is moved by the entreaties of his former comrade, Igareth. Unable to turn a deaf ear, he extends aid to Igareth, ultimately rescuing him from his plight. Yet, to ensure the young boy's true salvation, Anos must manipulate the past, employing Venuzdonoa to bring about Igareth's peaceful demise and subsequent reincarnation. Anos also enacts a mechanism to shield any alterations Igareth effects in the past from the intervention of the time gods. In return, he tasks the young lad with disseminating a specific rumor regarding the Demon King Avos Dilhevia.

It's nice to observe Shin and Lay's growing proximity as Shin imparts superior swordsmanship skills. Shifting gears, I listened to the OP, which, while not surpassing the excellence of the first one, remains undeniably captivating. Furthermore, the episode showcasing Anos and Misha embarking on a brief escapade together proves refreshing. After a prolonged period of encountering the formidable Anos, witnessing his ordinary teenage demeanor feels somewhat odd, given that I've grown accustomed to his distinctive Anosh style lol.

I found this episode more engaging than the previous one, particularly the final moments set against the backdrop of that picturesque setting with Misha and Anos.

Nice OP! I had totally forgotten how it sounded or looked. And oh yeah now I remember, they were fighting with the students from the human hero school earlier this season. (Or was it in the first season? Yeah I think it was the first)
Also if you don't remember: Lay is the reincarnation of the Hero Kanon, who assumed the identity of the fictional Demon King Avos Dilhevia at the end of season 1. He also has 7 sources.
6:23 Wait, what does this mean? "you showed it to me"?
10:56 This is why we love Anos!
There are so many difficult names used in this, it's hard to keep track of...
Yeah, this is still kinda confusing. But it's fun

@Embient I know right, lmao. I totally forgot about the song and the visuals, even though it’s actually solid. I didn’t understand the first six episodes that well as it was and now with the long break, I’ve totally lost bearings.

Anos trying to make sure all his soldiers fight for peace isn't in vain. These times two thousand years ago were much different than the present day we've seen. The era was at a tipping point after Anos reincarnated himself. The wall created to bridge off humans and demons hadn't settled things as much as Anos hoped it would. Some of his remaining soldiers weren't too happy after the atrocities of the war. I can understand their grief but taking it out on innocent children isn't the way. I'm glad that Anos saved that young prince and sent him to be reincarnated too. There seems to be a way to change the present by doing things in this past which Anos thought wasn't possible. The goddess of creation is even on Anos side, so he might could fix things and set the world on a better path going forward. That way the present they return to would be even better. I'm glad that Misha created those flowers at the graveyard and reassured Anos about his fallen comrades. Anos did ask Leno about changing a spirits source thinking that could maybe change Avos Dillhevia but its not that simple with spirits. They're sticking around Leno and Shin now seeing what will happen with them as they grow closer.

Only I think the animation improved a lot compare to episode 1-6? Maybe when it started over the previous episodes was fine tuned too? Please someone who watch from july 8 tell me the truth. I intentionally skipped the first 6 episode because I saw them in the winter season.

Drinking game, take a shot every time “ni sen nen mae”/“2000 years ago” is mentioned

Another solid episode though. Pacing is nice enough that the return after 7 months hasn’t been too jarring. Lot of characterisation for Shin, Anos, Misha and Reno.

The igareth torture scene was hard to watch. I can understand the frustration from the demon side in terms of how their comrades were lured into a trap and killed, but taking it out on the innocent isn’t the way to go. Good thing Anos stepped in and stopped it.

Reincarnating Igareth is also a cool mechanic, there may be a way to change the past for the better, thus leading to a better present. Especially since the goddess of creation is on Anos side.

It’s cool that even with all the power he wields, Anos still cares about even the least of his fellow demons. The deaths of everyone who served under him and fought for a peaceful future still resonates with him.The visit to the graveyard and Misha’s white flower spell was beautiful. The best way to honour the fallen is to make a world where people are free to live as they wish.

really cool episode, but i'm still kind of confused as to this time spell business. originally I thought he said that they shouldn't mess around too much, then he says it doesn't matter because it will revert back to the original history, then he says he could have changed it. which is it???
i feel like a lot of the explanations are hamfisted and rushed.

I don't know if this was the first time but it is rare to see Anos so melancholic and sad when he is always so confident and proud, as powerful as he is he had to make a ton of sacrifices and that's why after being strong enough he makes sure to protect the ones close to him.

Also I just noticed there is going to be a part 2 for this season, nice!!! I was sad thinking after delays and everything there wouldn't be more of this series, as hard to follow as it is it is too engaging.

It’s nice to have an episode with lots of Anos since he wasn’t the focus of the one we came back with, I had a feeling he’d save Igareth even after saying it wouldn’t matter if he did or not lol, just seems like a thing he’d do. I also appreciated how he handled the situation with the demons that were doing the beating, I was expecting him to show no mercy at first but i was pleasantly surprised by how he talked them down giving how he understood their pain.

One thing that confused me tho was the scene right after this where he kills Igareth so he can be reincarnated in the future to spread rumors about Dilhevia, I thought he couldn’t change the past but perhaps there is a way after all, it is Anos after all so it’s not that surprising lol. But the last scene of this episode at the graveyard was a truly great one, Misha making the scenery more beautiful with flowers after Anos reflects on those that died while serving him was very nice, probably one of my favorite scenes of this season.

And lastly, I want to mention that OP is so damn good lol, I really missed it along with the ED.

So Igareth agreed to get killed so he could be resurrected with plot armor, Anos killed him, but then never resurrected him?

The story seems very disjointed at the moment, they keep jumping over things without much explanation.

Igareth wasn't resurrected in the pocket dimension where Anos and the everyone else are currently residing, but in but in the ''factual'' past.
Or at least that's how I interpreted that scene.

This episode is undoubtedly one of the best, with an amazing adaptation so far! Anos' scenes are incredibly powerful. I find myself liking him even more now, especially how he understands his subordinates' feelings and guides them on a path where there is no revenge. This aspect of Anos is truly commendable.

The scene where Igareth embraces Anos and Anos confronts him was remarkably cool. It vividly demonstrates how deeply Anos cares for both demons and humans equally, which is his real strength for me.

However, despite his immense power, he couldn't attain peace without sacrificing his loyal subordinates. It was touching to witness Anos expressing his emotions. Even though the light novel provided more context, I still remember shedding tears when I read that scene.

Lastly, the ending scene with Anos and Misha was the pinnacle for me. It managed to capture a strong emotional connection.

While there were some explanations that had to be cut but the overall adaptation was impressive. Silver Link is truly doing an excellent job now.

looking forward to the next which will be so.....!

For those wondering why Anos says that even if he changes the past, it won't change when he returns to the present but then kills Igerath because he is now holding Venuzdonoa - the sword that destroy everything and even logic , so he made Igerath turn to immortal existence that even the God of time ( appeared in episode 4 season 1 ) didn't know about it , it same like change the past.

He resurrected him in the human side of the wall, resurrecting him right there was a death sentence since he didn't make him inmortal, invincible or anything like that, but an anomaly that can't be detected by the time god security detail.

He needs him to create a rumor in the human world that will last thousands of years.

We get a lot more backstory into the world after the war between Demons and Humans ended 2000 years ago. Really shows some of the brutal truths, with our boy Anos once again messing any commiting injustice up. Really sad to think how some of the ppl may have ended up if Anos and his crew didn't travel back in time.

Honestly this episode was one of the better ones this season. I was finding the series kind of slow after it started again from hiatus but I'm liking the things the series is going for.

Pretty good episode.Shin fighting Lay was very good.Really liked the sword techniques shown in this episode.

Anos saving Igareth was pretty heartwarming. Also Devidra showing that hatred can't go easily but it is possible.Ultimately they accepted Anos's viewpoint.

Got few more insights on Militia - The Goddess of Creation. This is important for the plot, we should remember it.

sorry for asking but why did it take so long for the anime to return? was it due to the editor/director i think who sadly passed? and will the anime get to the manga end? or will the anime stop after season 2 part 2?

2nd cour is worth the return and deserves more hype, the anime became better tbf. Nonetheless, it seems Anos could now change the past with the sword that Militia left for him. He can now get rid of Avos dilehvia rumor and finally make the world a peaceful place like his fallen soldiers wished to see. I wonder also if that is all to it and world peace will be achieved. We’ll have to see for now

Anos in his kiddy state sure doesn't take him back from the truth that the others are also progressing in their own way, like Jay sparring against Shin. The Great Spirit Leno is still trying to calm his heart down, though for Anos, his story connection of releasing his comrade of Igareth from Debidora, who tried to make an example out of him out of his son being killed by the Hero Jerga just to implant on children in Azeshion, even if it's a dream, it's worth saving just to get a context on what happened 2000 years ago, and change the past's context to birth in to a different future 2000 years ahead.

It certainly was a melancholic episode for Anos, as peace is observed and war is all but done for the dead. All in a bed of swords filled with souls that are saved.
