That's a lot of man tears....but seriously, this episode had its raw emotions. Those messages hit the feels.

There's also some interesting facts about Man-eaters being possibly former humans although they are also "a little different". It's a difficult time for sure, for pretty much everyone so I hope they can somehow make a better future.

Yes these people who were framing Immortal order as some super bad group aren’t really green themselves. I mean you see that guy plotted the fake death of their lady leader to agitate the rest of white jackets, just so he could take over the place the order was holding onto all this time, plus the ultra advanced machines too.

Though for Maru and Kiruko on the other hand, unaware of the commotion outside and paired with Usami for the time being, they learned that one truth which most probably was something we all once thought about.. man-eaters being former humans that is. And that’s when they met that one girl we saw a glance of in the last episode.. the one behind the curtains. Usami was giving it his all to keep her alive so that she doesn’t turn into a hiruko later on, though to her condition seeing no betterment it was inevitable to ask someone like Maru to give her that painless death, one she too longed for. That was sad, but yeah that’s just how fucked up their world is.

And just when we were over with all the mess, for the first time in forever Kiruko got a lead about Robin. Seems like he worked with Usami in the past, and people there knew about that. Great for her going forward, but freaking hell just when something good happened, we saw Usami shooting himself??

That certainly came out of nowhere. Maybe the guilt got the better of him. Also that certainly wasn't a very cheerful way to end the episode, even if it looks like one.

What a fking sad and tearjerking episode. When I saw Usami went alone into a building with that girl, I knew in an instant that he will find a way to suicide somehow. As he wanted to die together with his belove.

This button looks so familiar, isn't it?!

It's almost a confirmation that the event in isolated facility is from the past, the doctor and his special patient might be children from that facility. In the end, the girl from the facility that can see the future, dream about her death in the future, and she's happy because she won't die alone, the doctor, which is her friend, commit a suicide to die with her.

The doctor taking his own life towards to end wasn't that surprising but it did make for a sad ending.
Seems to me that the wrong people are fighting over power but we will see how that ends.

Anyway they know Robin is alive but i don't trust him, the main seems to be thinking way better of him that he actually is could be just me tho.

 • A big secret has been clarified;

 • The relationship between Usami and Hoshio wasn't explained at all.
 • Although it may stultify the story, immediate disposing of the dead body would have solved the mutation problem, wouldn't it?

Glad the girl could die in peace. Ah you knew it when he was alone with her that he was gonna kill himself. Emotional episode and maybe the best one so far.

This was an emotional episode. At least the girl passed away peacefully as a human. I think she was Usami's daughter.
So the tables have turned and the Immortal Order are the good guys now.
The disease is making people turn into Man-Eaters! Poor Maru. This also may mean that the person who told him to go and find "Heaven" has turned into one too.
The button Usami was holding in his hands had the same Logo as Kiruko's gun. Interesting.
I think the scene indicates that Mimihime is infected now. There must be a person at that facility that deliberately makes them sick or something.

The end was so weird. Can we consider Mimihime as hoshio's alter-ego just like Maru and Tokio ? And the confortable feeling she had in her dream is related with Usami's suicide.

So man-eaters were previously humans? The old lady's son from the earlier episode might've actually been that man-eater she was trying to protect. Also, I wonder who's hand that was in the Mimihime's dream. It has to be either the kid who died that we never saw or Tokio

quite a serious episode and it delivered perfectly. I never thought that I would feel bad for Dr.Usami, but he went out in the end,

This episode brought many tears with it. The white coated group is now sorting out to violence and their director/boss dies in the process, rip to her. The child/woman covered in all the bandages wants to see the light one more time before its the end for her, it was sad to see her go after what she went through. She even thanked that she could die as a human.

Meanwhile the white coated group is beginning their killing spree with the 1st man already in sight. The doctor said that he wants to bury her and goes up the roof to only make a end to his own life, which was tragic to see and Maru can't take it that his hands only are meant for people to die but Kiruko tries to prove him wrong. Looks like someone recognized Robin from the pictures so he's still alive somewhere i suppose. Mimihime had a nice dream.

Man I knew this was coming and in the manga it was heartbreaking, but the way they adapted this was done to perfection. Cried my heart out, the acoustic version of the ending was the cherry on top, what a fantastic episode, credits to the studio. The messages really got me going, and poor Maru having a crisis over realizing the man-eaters are former humans who have lost themselves, he can’t help but feel guilty.

in my opinion the structure is the past maru is the son of tokio and naka are identical. the girl who dies is that little girl who dreams at the last moment because she is in the dark and the one who gives her hand is the doctor who has just committed suicide and the doctor was the boy in love with the little girl of the structure who told him he wanted her in the room with if because then that button is just that of their uniforms. ps it's just a theory I haven't read manga or anything else eh

Maru's profound emotional response was undeniable as he undertook the solemn task of laying the girl to rest. This poignant moment marked his inaugural experience performing such a duty for a fellow human, leaving his hand visibly trembling with a mixture of reverence and inner turmoil. In the concluding scene, a somber gaze fixed upon Usami, he candidly acknowledges that his presence seemingly carries an unfortunate destiny of demise.

Yeah, both Usami and Shiro share the same voice actors, have white hair, and like to tinker with stuff.

Now that I think about it even further, I'm 100% convinced its both Shiro and Mimihime in the future, which makes the kids' facility part of the anime most likely in the past (especially with the final scene after episode title drop where Mimihime most likely saw whats going to happen in the future in her dream, which is why she's happy)

Wow. I don’t usually cry while watching anime but this episode hit different. What’s even crazier is how they managed to create an emotional attachment between the girl and the viewer when her name isn’t even known. This show is really the sleeper of this season.

I do have to wonder where they are going with this though, unless this is getting a part 2 it seems like there is still a lot of stuff that needs to occur in just 5 episodes.

Yes! I was suspecting that school or facility is in the past after we saw a fish-like monster with human hands and it was the same monster that Kona drew for Tokio. Now we know that Minihime was Hoshio, Shiro was Usami but we don't know what happened in the school.
Also it clicks that Mimihime said that somebody with Tokio's face will come save her and Maru did.

Man, never expect this series to get this good.

What a heavy episode.
I guessed it from the beginning, all man-eater are turned from human-being.
So back in episode 6 it make sense Maru was able to reach the prostitute girl's heart.
Basically Man-eater = human, it's just Maru never use this ability on human before so he didn't know they're the same.

I want to praise the studio to make the whole scenario as good as it is .
The music, the atmosphere, the cinematic, the pacing are all perfect.

That was such a satisfying episode, I loved the entire arc even if it ended in a very sad way. So I guess the ending scene basically confirms the children from the facility were from the past.

I have faith in them.

Tbh I think the emotional part outdone Demon Sleeper S3 by a long shot. That flashback of the mean guy is pretty standard and I dont feel anything about it really.

Damn that was just sad. It's a shame that Usami was overcome with grief to the point of committing suicide but I suppose he saw no more reason to live  after the girl died.

Funny how the Liviuman people were making Usami and the Immortal Order out to be some heinous group of criminal monsters, but as we see, Usami was a decent guy while they're the corrupt ones.

DAMN 😢😫💔

What an emotional episode...I'm glad we got some solid answers for all of that turmoil tho

(Spoilers)
Man-Eaters ARE humans turned monster (feel like a lot of us saw this coming but it's good to have it confirmed)

The doctor was deff a part of or at least involved with the Facility based on the button...
(End of Spoilers)

Since Maru could invade the patient's heart, it does make me wonder if they can only do it with 'infected' people and if the 'King of Hotels' had the disease that will turn them into a Man-Eater eventually...it can't just be living things since it didn't work on the bear 🤔

We haven't been seeing much of the Facility lately other than very vague and quick bits and pieces at the end of episodes ever since the kid who died returned with a more alien-like appearance a few ep's back (spacing their name atm)—which is making me think that some crazy shit is deff about to go down with that past storyline and we will finally be getting to see first hand what really happened and get more things confirmed so I'm hyped 👀🔥

This series is such a 10/10 series it's crazy ✨

I was honestly speechless for most of this episode, it might already be a contender for best directed episode of the year. The melancholic atmosphere in the big moments, especially with Maru doing the deed to end it. The big questions were answered, as this is pretty much confirmation for the nursery being in the past, and that Usami was indeed Shiro, and the infected girl was Mimihime. I honestly gasped when I figured that out.

I have less to say than I thought I would have to say for such a beautiful episode, but all I can really say is that the presentation really elevated the material this episode, to really hammer the sadness home. There are many mysteries left to unravel, but man, this episode really makes AOTS tough to choose now. I honestly love that I'm going to struggle a lot choosing my favourite.

It's hard to comment with all these tears falling...

This anime is so good! Not talking just about the story and direction, the animation and sound are also top notch and a good example why technical aspects can make something good shiny even brighter.
What I also liked is that many theories I had were confirmed, and it did so without the need to explain anything. You just watch and the pieces all fall into place.

So, that "store" that appeared between the ashed of the cremated boy is a consequence of the mysterious disease and is that that turns into a monster. It's not necessary the kids that naturally become monsters, they first die.
Makes me imagine if this character will eventually appear:

About the "patient"... they called her "Hoshio", but while I was watching I could identify her as Mimihime by her voice. It's her, isn't? Then Usami is the boy who received her photo.

It's all confirmed now, there are two temporal lines, that "school" is in the past.

I had commented about this before, I think, about how good the script is for not relying villains and heroes. All characters that appear in the story as complex, have their point of view and work with limited information.
Even this case that the cult had bad intentions, something that is super common in anime wasn't bad. It was just a faction inside the leadership of the cult that had bad intentions, and the anime made clear in a sutil way that the problem isn't about cults or religion with a detail that may pass unnoticed:

The patients found refuge in a church.
