Good episode! At least they had a little fun... for today... I love the way Judeau talks with Guts. Guts is leaving The Band of the Hawks and next episode should be amazing!
A lot of cgi this episode tho...
Sorry for my english xD!

RIP Kentaro Miura :(
RIP Akira Toriyama :(

It's the most dialog heavy episode and there's really nothing to balance it out. Long dance section gave viewers a breather while watching a movie, but here it's way too long. Guts talking to Judeo may be boring on paper, but it's actually really engaging and, most of all: important. Unfortunately, because CGI models here are in such slow moments you can clearly see their imperfections.

Wow, another new chunk of content, ~10 minutes this time. Since they went so big into advertising the Bonfire of Dreams addition, I honestly wasn't sure if they would make any other large additions or not. I'm glad they did; this was a good addition of cut content. Now I wonder if there are any other big addition(s) left or not. Not sure what else they could realistically add for movie 3, but even if this was the last large addition, personally I'm very pleased with it overall.

I like how Judeau was the only that Guts really confided about the plans to to leave. Even Guts knew that Judeau was the only one that would hear and try to understand the motives, and be cool with.

Seeing the PTSD build up and shock in griffiths face was just too good.

If only Guts had a talk with Griffith about he's thoughts on their bond so Griffith could understand his motives of leaving at that time... So remember to talk with dear to you so there are no big misunderstandings :)

The Movie CGI is still horrendous, but the 10+ min dialogue scene between Judeau & Guts made up for it imo especially with the amazing direction all throughout. Their newer CGI models for the background mobs are vastly superior to the movie models, so I wouldn't mind if they used this for future adaptations especially during the conviction arc. Overall pretty satisfied, new content is all that we can ask for tbfh.

i didn't much care for a lot of the dancing and shit but the character development for guts was deep and truly important; made the episode worth it. i didn't like the abrupt ending but maybe that in itself has a deeper meaning.

Dude literally said the G man would do anything to make his dream come true. So if Guts saw Griffith either belittle himself to get Guts to stay or condemn him is exactly what Guts does not want.

guts interaction with judeau is already enough for this episode, perhaps i can also say for the dance in the beginning.

the next episode will be interesting tho.

Really good episode. Been impressed with how well these movies have been adapted into a weekly show. I planned to watch this content again (because I love Berserk) as just an extra thing to watch alongside my other shows, and yet I have been actually looking forward to every new episode. It's been that good.

That's a lot of new stuff, kudos for the staff, this was actually a very substantial addition, much like the Bonfire.

Best episode so far. Scenes like this one with Judeau and Guts are what's been missing the most. Shame they speedrun the first movie. I guess they are doing scenes they don't need to put much effort. Oh well... CGI is still crap though!

I actually liked this episode. We got 10 minutes of new content which is really good, but other than that,CGI and the animation is okay. The standard for Berserk apatations is so low,so yeah I am pleasently surprised.

So, Gutz is just a war junkie, who never gave a damn about anything but the trill to fight and swing his big big sword, Man, Griffin should have just leave him alone.

Was this cameo added with the Memorial Edition, or was it in the original movies as well?

EDIT: looking at the screenshot again, it looks hand-drawn, so I'm guessing it was in the movies already. So we are none the wiser about what comes after Memorial Edition...

Great episode, slightly restored my faith in the show (and possible future adaptations).

- The ballroom sequence did drag on, but it was a nice touch that added to the source material and bumped up the production values somewhat. I have mixed feelings about whether Casca and Guts would even do such a thing however, i.e. openly enjoy dancing with each other like that at this point in their journeys...

- Excellent addition of the Judeau/Guts conversation. The heart-to-heart really lays out what's going on in Guts' head and solidifies the relationship between the two very well. It also went on slightly long in my opinion, but the writing and the direction was solid, and the CGI animation did not feel as awkward for me here as some parts of the "bonfire of dreams" scene did.

- Disappointed that Corkus was not in the conversation scene. He's the only antagonistic one in the team, but in the source material he gets to understand Guts a little better here. Also, he even provides some legitimate counter-arguments that Guts considers and appreciates, and in the process the audience also gains a better understanding of who Corkus is.

- Court intrigue and assassinations have been cut. This one is understandable, as we've already seen an assassination attempt on Griffith during the hunting trip and his response to it, but the show misses out on Griffith being absolutely brutal but simultaneously insecure in front of Guts.

I know many people disliked dancing scene back when it appeared for the first time in the second movie of Golden Age arc trilogy, but I think highly of it. Very well done animated sequence with good dancing choreography. It looked even better in Memorial Edition, because of how it blended with the episode itself.

We've got an extra scene with Guts and Judeau (in the manga there was also Corkus, but whatever - I don't like him, so I wasn't rustled by his absence, lol), providing a lot of details about Judeau, but also about Guts and his feelings towards Casca, Griffith and Hawks. I liked how this scene was longer than just one or two minutes and didn't rush the conversation, making it look as natural as it was possible.

Things were going so well too in that ballroom. With that conversation with Judeau and the ending of the episode, it seems Guts has made up his mind.

They removed Corkus from the Guts and Judeau interaction? Interesting.
