I kinda hoped he'd invite Toshi, but an early honeymoon is fine too.

I like the growth in Gibson's character, I think this is probably the best baseball anime I've ever seen :)

to go from hating Gibson - do a 180 - to respecting and praising his character by just watching one episode; to show it was one thing, but making it believable was quite an unreachable feat (Gibson came off to me as an uncontrollable asshole with anger issues) and Major has done just that.

to think that such a compelling plot and powerfully engaging character interactions would come with a sports genre tag... fantastic show

Gibson is a pretty awesome and stand up guy. This series has just been phenomenal so far.

I really have to say that I misjudged Gibson and this post sums up most of it for me. I'm still not convinced that it was a 100% accident, but that incident was a wake up call to Gibson and his development is showing.

Can't Gibson speak Japanese? Was pretty sure he could . . . Also, was anybody else looking forward to hearing the Star Spangled Banner, Japanese style? Was sad they didn't actually play it for the opening of the game. Oh well.

How I wish Shimizu's character were a bit less dislikable, she is a complete idiot. So far she hasn't been active or useful in anything.

They start so young the kids toady...

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

:3

I'm just kidding, but it was really cute :)

''You got big, boy.''
He's not that fat!
More seriously, he sure got bigger. How must you feel when the child of the man you (accidentally) killed is starring at you, directly in the eyes? It must be unbearable.

Yeah. I have no interest whatsoever in kiddies playing home and quarelling non-stop... And seriously, 9 y-o kids do not feel have romantic feelings, so stop with the awkward blushes and situations already...
That cunt got such a nerve, saying "Go back to Japan already", when it's thanks to him that she's here and after she ruined it for him. And still no slapping !
I've seen too many shows to consider these elements cute or funny anymore. At this point it's just redundant and annoying.

When Gibson left a ball at the hotel, i imagined how wicked it would have been if he was offering the ball that killed his father as a memento xD

Pitching only fast balls in an all-star game and winning ? Yeah, as if that could ever happen. Stupid tryhard authors want to make characters look badass, at the expense of realism. Sad times when badassery reigns over fiction.

Gibson had some nice development. Went from being an arrogant ass to a respectable dude.. Sadly at the cost of someones life..
(Well, still a bit arrogant I suppose)
His hair is on point.

Lattteee reply, but he only "speaks japanese" when he's talking to the translator guy. He's still speaking english, but it shows as japanese.

Love how touching this anime can get :)

Can't help but feel bad for Gibson, the amount of guilt this fella has to live with is just crazy : / I really doubt he hit him on purpose. Just looked like he lost his composure after giving away the homerun and it just went downhill from there. Once you lose your cool, mistakes like that are inevitable. Unfortunately, this time it lead to someone dying from a dead ball : /

I'm glad to see Gibson again and that they were able to "talk" on the field.
I wonder why did Shimizu and Goro sleep in the same bed, they had sepparate rooms after all.

Yeah I was kind of hoping to either see Komori or Toshi go with him. Shimizu didn't really add much, as it's not like their characters bonded here more. Komori and Toshi would have benefited much more here, seeing the pros play and all.

Wow. I really misjudged Gibson. It looks like his guilt was a lot stronger than I imagined; it's eating away at him heavily even now. I'm really glad that Gorou asked Gibson if it really was an accident. Gibson's reply was pretty phenomenal in that it seems to show that Gibson himself isn't certain how consciously he threw that ball at Honda, yet he still takes full responsibility for it because "even if it was an accident" he knows that his childish anger is what made him lose control of himself.

The sheer amount of thoughtfulness he put into his exhibition and the look on his face when Gorou's ball missed him... This is some incredible characterization.

This episode legitimately got me a bit teary-eyed. This is one of my all-time favorite anime episodes now, actually.

Gibson turned out to be a great guy after all,the portrayal of his development may was short, but on point.

Gorou made his peace with him and got a rival for the future, hope we will actually see a clash of these two.

Nice episode, the emotions were real. I have started to kinda like Gibson, but somehow didnt he admit that his mental weakness was the reason for hitting Goros father? I still think it was intentionally done.

The anime is just awesome. Never thought to see such an amazing plot, so many emotions and those great characters.

I cant wait to see Goro growing up and becoming a professional.

Shimizu got some chill parents for letting her, a 9-year old, go with a male classmate and some stranger guy they don't know to America.

With Gibson once having anger issues and ended up killing Goro's dad, its good to see through regret he's now a changed and respectable man. Also respect to Goro for seeing that and not hold onto revengeful feelings himself as can be seen in the 'punishment game' at the end.
