Haru is back and oh boy, he's not in a good mood this episode. Given that Akito also knows about his relationship with Rin...it just makes him more tense.

Speaking of relationship, it looks like his feelings for Rin is still intense as ever. Interesting to also see Ren Sohma again but I always get an ominous feeling when she appears in this franchise.

Poor Hinata...why do all characters named Hinata have to suffer ;-; I honestly did forget about Hiro, but this is a great way to re-introduce him. The tears Kisa had were genuine. I just wish they weren't cousins ahhhh

I definitely think this might be the best episode? I miss the S1 characters and their interactions. That was peak shoujo.

I understand Haru's intentions, but Akito is being wrongly antagonized. People don't understand her or her past. I am not justifying Akito's behavior, but she is 100% a victim.

I love this episode. I cried, I swear I have cried a lil bit every episode. Akito’s perspective is so warped I love that she is getting more development and everything is coming to a head. The “I’m home” that Rin said to Haru... melted my heart... I am glad to see her “journey” end and realize that she is not a burden :,)

Seems like something's troubling Haru. Also, Hiro got a little sister, Hinata. Glas to see that Haru is maturing as well because of her little sister. He's becoming a little more responsible.

Damn... Haru was super mad at Akito in this episode. Fair enough tho. You're trying to kill the person he loves so much. Akito has done some really messed up things up until now. Now again, she's trying to torture Isuzu. I'm glad that at least Isuzu was rescued from there.

And yeah, we saw Akito's mom again. She's weird and gives off a really odd feeling about her.

HOO BOY, THIS MIGHT BE THE DARKEST Fruits Basket episode EVER (and literally, every episode that is coming close to the final stretch).

Things between Hiro and Kisa are looking to be better with the growing baby Hinata, but what got me is the background sound of Hiro hitting Haru with the cow "moo", heh a nice touch. Hiro too is a victim of Akito, and it's nice that Kisa is able to comfort him.

Hatsuharu is back, and he's SERIOUSLY PISSED. Normally, he'd panic for just about everything related to Rin, but thanks to Yuki's advise from Tohru, he sprung into action when Hiro revealed more misforgivings about Akito and from Rin herself, wanting to free herself from the Soma Curse.

As intense as Haru's love for Rin was, so was his anger against the zodiac god Akito, and you can feel it in EVERY INCH of the bones. Even Kureno is powerless to stop Haru, and has to comtemplate with Akito's and the Soma Family's (Ren's side) whims whether he likes it or not.

Truthfully, Akito's expunges against the rebels of the Soma zodiac are unparalleled, and just as is with her family and servants. Hatori was one before, and Rin is facing the same ordeal.

It's only with Haru with Rin can find absolute love and peace, and the end of a long, suffering journey.

Exemplary episode.

Um, what? I'm sorry but being a victim is NOT an excuse to victimize others. She tried to MURDER someone out of jealousy, her sad childhood didn't do that, she did. She's spiteful and hateful, and deserves to be abandoned.

This is the first episode of the season to really make me bawl my eyes out. Some earlier ones had moments of tears but this episode basically had be crying from beginning to end. Any episode focused on Haru and Rin is a tear jerker, their storyline is just so sad. We saw a lot of it last season with learning how in love they are along with Rin past with Akito and how Haru and Hiro both care for Rin. The scene with Hiro telling Kisa and Haru how sorry he is for not telling them the truth before. Hiro telling so guilty for that especially towards Kisa since he feel Akito hurt Kisa because of him. A couple episodes ago we saw an end scene with Isuzu sneaking onto the Soma estate and being caught by Ren. Now we get caught up as to how horribly that went, Isuzu trusting Ren but or course the evil woman just fooled her into being caught by Akito. Whom then locked Isuzu into the cat room after cutting off most of her long hair. Thankfully both Kureno and Haru were trying to save Rin from being locked up. Rin not liking hospitals though after what we saw her like in them last season, runs and the scene with her thinking she's having a dream of Haru is so sweet. Their love is too pure, Rin and Haru are such a great match. They care for one another so much. Loved the parallels to when Haru found Rin lying on the sidewalk back when they were kids to now he can pick her up himself. It was so sweet. Rin can now rest with Haru and not worry about breaking the curse, her long journey is over.

Baby Hinata is so cute. Hiro and Kisa look much older. A bit of Hiro's development this episode. Haru and Rin finally reunited and Haru has a very intense love for Rin. Kureno did the right thing but he still no better for not doing anything much earlier.
I just feel pity for Akito for being raised to be so attached to this bond which ends up hurting the zodiacs. Which we can just see from the head maid's reaction and her conversation with Kureno that all the zodiac has to obey the god of the zodiac.

It's Momiji voice in the end card that means it's probably his episode.

I constantly see people complain that Fruits Basket has too much incest because of the Sohma clan getting together... Yeah these people should read up on what a clan actually is. People sharing the same clan name does not mean they are closely blood related, if blood related at all.

I was worried about how they were going to fit this episode into one, but they managed. Rushed, but oh well. I'm guessing there are other episodes they want to slow down on.

Happy for Rin and Haru to have their happy ending. I don't think Akito will be bothering them after that.

"I like carrying you, you're not a burden, you're not heavy." ohhh, that's love :')

Next episode is Momiji... Hmm... pulling out my copies of the manga... I guess a lot of rearranging is going to done.

Man, if I was Haru I don’t know if I would have had the restraint to not throw hands at Akito or that one older woman.

The selfishness of Akito and her mother being enabled by the family irritates me to no end, but that is because of good writing. These two “vilains” have their own reasons for doing the things they do, which makes their actions all the more frustrating because it feels reasonable to their characters and doesn’t feel like contrived conflict.

Anyways, I’m glad that Kureno is showing more autonomy by saving Rin and the moment between Haru & Rin was very heartwarming.

Dude this episode was freaking good. I thought Akito was bad. But Akito’s mother Ren is just as bad she is. Like seriously trying to get a good girl to do something for an empty promise. It was told that she is mentally unstable but I never thought she was this unstable. Like dang dude. So that box or treasure is the ashes of her lover and Akito’s father. Wow. I understand Akito can be mad, jealous, or all of the above. But there is only so much one can do before repercussions becomes involved. If I ever did that I would rather be confined to a wheelchair or hospital for a while because I would not forgive myself if I did that. Like seriously. Though I see what other people are saying. But still. Has Akito ever really grown up or even went to school? Dang. Isuzu you are “free”. Spend all your time with Haru now. Please! Your smile and happiness is all I need.

That was horrible of Akito's mom, like mother like daughter I guess. The last scene was way too wholesome, Rin loved Haru so much that she sacrificed everything to break his curse. Haru found her lying on the street and woke her up. I love them, they're a great couple.

10/10 episode. Such a heartfelt segment that made me smile to start to finish, albeit the few times I yelled at my screen whenever Ren and Akito showed up.
Rin and Haru's relationship has always been so awkward and disjointed, but it's because it's their genuine care for each other's well-being that they act this way, especially Rin not wanting to feel like a burden and thus risking herself to break Haru from the curse. That last part with her and Haru was such a satisfying moment, and a great way to have closure for them in terms of their character arcs.

That scene with Haru standing up to Akito and even giving her the physical treatment was rather fulfilling by itself, too. Finally, someone confronted Akito with her "God"-like ego. I don't trust that Ren witch, though....so much poison reeks from this woman pulling the strings, whether or not she's actually helping or harming.

no way, why would they jump up that far. if the have 116 in the next episode they have to have 115 also since it leads right into 116.

but also with where episode 4 ended the next chapter, 107, continues right where left off

Okay, wasn't expecting the anime to adapt that full story arc. Chapters 104, 105, and 106 were adapted in this episode; which I believe marks the first instance of an episode adapting three full chapters of the manga up to this point. Adapting all three chapters does result in the anime shortening a number of its key scenes to varying degrees to fit this full story arc into the episode. I won't comment much on what got trimmed from said key scenes, as it mostly involved the loss of some dialogue and minor bits of said scenes. But at least for changed or removed scenes, here are my observations of differences for this episode:

-The opening scene with Kureno and Akito was originally shown later in the manga in Chapter 115. This replaces the opening scene of Chapter 104 where Kureno noticed a Sohma maid leaving food outside the cat’s room, that got moved to later in the episode during Haru’s conversation with Hiro and Kisa.
-Following his conversation with Yuki, a scene was removed showing Haru reflecting on his memories of Isuzu.
-Before barging into Akito’s room, there was a removed scene showing Haru walking past some Sohma maids while recollecting what he learned from Hiro about Isuzu.
-During Haru’s confrontation with Akito, the anime removed many of the flashbacks Haru had recollecting his relationship with Isuzu and reflecting on how his selfishness may have caused Isuzu to suffer.
-The clips showing the red rope meant to symbolize the “bond” of the Sohma curse and its unraveling were added for the anime.
-All mention and scenes involving Hatori caring for Isuzu were added for the anime, which removed Isuzu’s opening narration from Chapter 106 about questioning any reason she has for living. In the manga, Hatori was still at the main Sohma house when he learns about Isuzu fleeing from the hospital.

Yea I know it's wild but that's where the line's from. I guess they want to wrap Momiji's arc up in one episode, even if it means skipping over everything else.

Ch. 111 is where Momiji's growth spurt is revealed, and so far we've been adapting 2 chapters ish per episodes (With the occasional 3 chapter adaptions, like Ep.4)

If they adapt Ch. 107 they can't do all of it because it leads directly into Ch. 108.

Maybe they'll do Ch. 111, Ch. 116, and then Ch. 107 but we'll have to see. You're about 115 leading into 116 so I'm not really sure how it'll all go.

It's a weird choice to skip right to it over everything but hopefully it works out.

This episode adapts chapter 104-106. Some things were changed, but it's not too important. They did have to cut stuff out to fit 3 chapters into 1 episode.

Hm, why did they draw Yuki taller then Haru. In the manga Haru is taller...
(They also keep drawing Momiji smaller than Tooru but at this point in the manga they are the same height.)

Many misstranslations...

At 01:52 Haru says: "It's a great mystery." At 02:24 Haru says: "If it all goes wrong, comfort me."
At 06:58 Hiro says "You need to tell her it's ok now." At 08:03 Kisa says "It's ok now".
At 09:07 Haru says that "Heaven" told him that Akito pushed Rin. At 09:23 Akito says "So you believe in Heaven but not in me, God."
At 17:03 Ren says "Knowing that child, he couldn't bear to leave it out in a corner of the room. It must be hidden, behind a door."
At 17:57 Akito says: "Which would you prefer, letting you out or blinding Hatsuharu?"
At 18:35 Rin says: "You surelly don't need such a me."

They can't go to chapter 107 next episode because they need to show the skipped chapters 90-93 before that. Which means they will probably be skipping and rearranging chapters again? Argh, I really don't like it when they do that. Just show 90-93 next, damn it.

Anyway, the best episode so far for me. Because Haru-Rin is best couple and Haru, Rin (and Kyou) are fav characters. Akito bitch and Ren bitch should go to hell together and keep fighting each other there forever.

BTW, I love how Rin's pupils turned black at 21:53, totally didn't notice that in the manga. Nice touch by the mangaka, she really thinks about every detail.

This arc has been one of my most anticipated part of the manga in being adapted for the anime and I'm glad that they nailed it so damn well.

This episode itself felt like a constant barrage from the feels train with no end in sight. Hiro's apology over how Kisa got injured and how they both teared up was excellent, but the highlight of this episode was Rin and Haru.

After finding out how Rin got the nasty injury from being pushed by Aktio, Haru went to confront her and he didn't hold back his anger. I'm sure I won't be the only one here that feels somewhat satisfied in seeing Akito getting put in her place, even by physical force, by Haru during their argument and Akito should thank her lucky stars that she didn't get her head punched in at the last second.

Another thing that this episode showcased was how Ren can be just as repulsive and nasty as Akito, as proved by using Rin to try and grab the box in Akito's room, then showed no remorse when she found out that Rin got caught in the process. Like mother, like daughter, I suppose. =(

The best part of the episode was when Haru found Rin collapsed on the street and hoisted her onto his shoulder and carried her off, much to the bewilderment of the 2 young schoolgirls who followed them. Amusing as that was, the comforting talk from Haru and Rin's teary reaction got me shedding a few tears myself.

Keep this up and this final season could be a masterpiece in my eyes.

Man, Akito is so repulsive. I was rooting for Haru to beat her haha, I'll still hold out hope that someone will. And let's not even talk about her mother, what a bitch!

Kureno!!! I'm not your biggest fan but Kureno, my man, great job!

Phenomenal episode!!

The amount of rage Haru was expressing there sums up how I have felt about the existence of Akito. I wanted him to punch her so fucking hard for what she did to Rin... She had it coming cause her behavior and attitude utterly stinks.

I slowly realize that the "antagonist" position is slowly shifted towards Ren instead of Akito, but that still doesn't make Akito's actions right.

Poor Rin, first getting pushed off the balcony, then verbal abuse and that lovely hair T_T nooooo.. She was ready to die and it made me sad. That made the ending of Haru finding her on the street so much sweeter and emotional. Her journey has come to an end.

Kureno and Haru MVP this episode, they were fantastic!!
