lol i'm happy you get it!! but i've also been on an anime kick recently, so i've watching some stuff on my list, but adding so many more now that so many new anime are airing.... it's a problem haha :P
i just finished my summer classes and now the fall semester started, so i've been really busy :( especially since i'm taking so many credits and being a TA lol. but they were fine but somewhat stressful, since the classes were only three weeks long and they have to cram in so much content. but i survived, luckily !! ^.^
aw i'm really sorry to hear that :( it might have been just super competitive, so i would still be very proud !! maybe stick with it a bit longer and see if you can get it next time? there is another chance in winter, right? positive thinking !! ^.^
i think i may have been talking about the manga instead of the anime, especially for TPN season 2. but i have been watching the knb anime recently and it's not that bad, it's just kind of overdramatic LOL. but i totally think that the TPN manga is better than the anime. i was actually really surprised to see how bad the second season was considering how good the anime was.
for one piece so far i have just been reading the manga, and i've gotten to chapter 300 or so but i've been kind of bored? maybe i'll just take the plunge and watch part of the anime and see if i like it better! i think it's on netflix, but we'll see how long it takes me to watch it :P

I was just saying to another MAL friend just now that he's becoming one of my closest long-time MAL friends. I don't think it's just duration though and more a case of how frequently you talk, what you talk about, and the depth of what you talk about, that's the key. I still have friends from when I first became active on MAL (3 years ago) on my list and they're still regularly logging in but very few of those are in regular contact. More like semi-regular or very occasional contact. Then there are a lot of people who become closer and then drift away, as time goes by. As long as you've got someone to talk to then that's the main thing, and there never seems to be any shortage of those on MAL. I have a knack for prolonging back and forth conversations indefinitely so whenever I come across people with the same skill (like yourself) then we seem to have endless conversations. In fact, I have the same thing going with dozens of MAL friends at the moment. It feels nice to have regulars that you become familiar with or develop a fondness for and I try to make time and an effort to reply to all of them as best I can. What are your experiences with long-term friends on MAL?
Ah, I was just thinking about Noragami myself recently because I've noticed it in a lot of friends' top 10's. I'm considering giving it a shot myself. I'm definitely into fun anime and series which blend several genres together and are the complete entertainment package, and I'm guessing that Noragami could well be one of those. I'll probably try to first two episodes and see if things click and how I warm to the integral trio of characters, and then decide if I want to carry on with it or not. It's definitely a series on my radar so it'll probably be pretty soon. Haha, it's not always easy explaining the premise of an anime just straight of the bat like that. You didn't do so bad! Irrespective of any synopsis though, I often feel you won't have a clue if it's for you or not until you've actually taken a few episodes in for yourself. Like you need to put your own feet in the water to gauge the temperature lol.
For me, GITS was my first ever anime and it was high quality and thought-provoking but it was a bit serious and pensive. It was only a couple of months later (9 and a half years ago now) when I started Bleach that I started to experience and enjoy the fun, entertaining side of anime. Two years after that I had progressed onto Naruto and then that became the main show for me. It was pretty much the only thing I watched for some months and became a beacon of hope and inspiration for me. It ended up helping me with many things IRL so I will always be grateful for that. Then Naruto would continue to dominate for the next few years, with FMAB and Death Note punctuating that time. Both FMAB and Death Note are classic series of course, and very hard to find fault with. I enjoyed them greatly (I've seen them both twice, now), but as good as they were, they weren't large enough or important enough to displace Naruto as first love and main inspiration. I had come to the conclusion that nothing would ever rival or get near to Naruto/Shippuden and it was the best that anime had to offer, but then, a little more than 5 years ago, I came across 3 big franchises (for me personally) that would completely change the game. Firstly SAO, season 2 then season 1 (I streamed season 2 first, before buying season 1 lol), then Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works season 1 and 2, then Log Horizon season 1 and 2. The year afterward I stumbled onto two other major series for me (thanks to YouTube recommendation videos) in HxH (2011) and Avatar: The Last Airbender, and finally there was an elite group of faves to keep Naruto/Shippuden company. I still rank all of the aforementioned in my top 10, and I think they helped to open me up to new possibilities, and inspired me to keep searching for the next hidden gem, or personally meaningful or satisfying franchise.
Yeah, the Naruto/Shippuden dub is really well done and it feels quite iconic now. Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Gaara, and Hinata's dub...wow! Just hearing them brings back a flood of memories! And Might Guy and Rock Lee, those two are comedy gold! The only thing in a similar ballpark for me is the Bleach dub. The Fairy Tail dub is pretty good but I think the series itself is a little off the pace of the other two. Amongst the big shows, AOT and SAO also have fantastic dubs. I totally agree, the FMAB and Steins; Gate dubs are rather exceptional, as well. Particularly Vic Mignogna as Edward Elric and Micheal Tatum as Okabe. Some very fine acting and dialogue, indeed.
SK8 was different from anything I've seen before or since. Adam was a good, flamboyant, despicable villain and the snowboarding guy was alright and had the moves, but for me, Reiki was the star of the show and had the most heart. I think my fave aspects were some of the slice-of-life moments together with the thrilling spectacle of the actual races. I think I gave it a 7 score in the end but it was a very enjoyable and easy watch. It was definitely a nice change of pace from the usual.
Yeah, Promised Neverland season 2 was badly paced and failed to have the weight or impact of the first, and I think there are many anime viewers who are saying the same. It definitely lost the psychological aspect and gravitas of the first season. It had a subtle and slow-burning menace before, but all that went out the window as it progressed into a run-of-the-mill action-adventure.
Ah, I'm so glad that you rated Rock Lee and His Ninja Pals a 10! It really was so much fun and some of the comedy was rather outrageous, like Neji always playing the girls in the skits, a very camp and effeminate Oroichimaru (even more so than usual), and Might Guy with his overdue, risqué DVDs. Lol.
Yeah Fruits Basket is really good, The voice acting just elevates it to an another level, Luffy is an amazing character you will see more of him as your progress through One Piece, good luck with that XD
I think from AC Karma is my favourite. still have to watch s2 :(

I've been reading manga lately, so I'm trying to catch up on demon slayer and beastars.
Yes, i think the one scene that hits me the most is when Rengoku saw his mom before he died. It was too emotional for me. Exactly! And that's what I love about Marvel movies. I've been watching Marvel series on Disney+ over the summer. I thought Wandavision and Falcon & Winter Soldier were both good. I'm still finishing up Loki. I also saw the new Black Widow movie and I thought that was good too.
