I kinda stopped using MAL. Soz. :I accept all friend requests if you don't bulli me (though I understand if you do) :)) I have 80+ friend requests right now and the reason I'm taking so long is that I like to check our your profiles right before accepting, but I also like to procrastinate... Please be patient~ We ain't real friends unless we talk in 30 page essays π€π€π€π€π€π€π€π€π€ Edit: Everyone, since I need to convince you all I'm a big kid now, I will say that I didn't get any Cs in my latest report card, and Mommy even gave parental consent to me using a MAL since I learned to stop sucking my thumb and I studied really hard for my last math test (I got a B- in pre-algebra!!) I also like touching grass with my friends after school. Anyways, I should totally write more reviews. ππ ±οΈ While I may be only 12 years old, I have cultured taste in all the best shows the anime medium has to offer, from Ex-Arm to the Promised Neverland 2. My favorite character is also Eren and my favorite animu is Attack on Titan, both of which are the deepest thingies I have ever seen in the decade and two years of my short lifespan. My favorite genre of shows are romances followed by isekai. Mother's Basement and Gigguk are also da best YouTubers. Before, I was an atheist, but now, The Anime Man is my religion. I definitely agree that Nisio Ison invented symbolism and double-entendres, literally revolutionizing Japanese literature. Oh, I also believe Japanese is superior to English. Over 90% of One Piece is misunderstood by Western fans because of translation issues. I also have an authentic, expensive Japanese dakimakura. As you can see, I have really good opinions and I should write reviews. Profile Picture credit to bonnybazooka on Redbubble I used to go by the name IshigamiCrisis. Now I am SPACE_BOYFRIEND!! Apologies for the late replies...in college now and *insert other excuse for not replying lmao*...will get to them soon; even if it takes literal MONTHS, I swear I will reply! I'm probably just not in the mood. It's not you, it's me... *runs away in tears* Hey kid. Want some of the good stuff? OMORI!! It's all ober now ;=; πΌ BANGER ANOTHA ONE βΎπ π’ Likes: Nothingπ’Except Funny Comedies!! π Dislikes: Romance, Isekai πsuch as Mushoku Tensei My Dress-Up Darling Prelim Review 9:58 PST is now deleted cause I made edits. Whoops. π I might repost with updated information (which I got removed for lol) once it finishes airing. An unseen review, for better or worse, is not gonna be seen and/or help people so that's why I'm not resposting right now. If you'd like to read it still, feel free to do so here: I cannot emphasize this enough, but My Dress-Up Darling is an ECCHI rom-com. Forget the synopsis about the interesting life of a cosplayer and doll-maker respectively, this is a standard high school slice of life with ecchi. As for me, I’ve seen this premise quite a few times, but what’s different this time is how damn explicit and uncomfortable some of the shots of Marin, an underage high-schooler, are. This high-schooler has kinks like ‘wanting to be a sex slave like her favorite anime character’ and legitimately strips down in front of a guy she just met since he knows how to use a loom. Particularly in episode 2, a lot of these explicit shots of Marin are also sexual innuendos that are meant to be funny and relatable as Wakana blushes uncontrollably, afraid he’s going to do something wrong. No, dude, no one thinks like that. This kind of situation would also never believably happen because there’s no girl in existence that acts like Marin does around a guy she just met. Why do these fanservice shots happen? Because Wakana ‘has’ to take Marin’s measurements while she’s in a two-piece. Wakana, if you’re not comfortable with taking her measurements, tell her to go to a clothing store to get measured. All of these inane situations are an extremely bad excuse for a hentai plot without sex for a majority of episode 2. It’s NOT what I wanted nor expected. How about the characters? I’m sorry to say they are nothing interesting despite their interesting occupations. Wakana is a shy kid without many friends due to a ‘trauma’ he experienced. That ‘trauma’ was when a little girl Wakana met as a kid said something like “Ewww, your dolls are ugly” and ran away. Kid, my parents have said harsher things to me and I still turned out okay (I think). Even if it is true that a single comment at childhood scarred Wakana, how would the audience believe that? We don't know enough about Wakana's past so it's not justified. It would've been better if they talked about Wakana's past later and gave it more screentime or at least focused on his trauma. Trauma should not be used as a plot device but should be handled with care to create a more believable backstory. I wish my first impression was about Wakana’s life’s work in detail, but instead his fate ‘intertwines’ with the quirky, energetic cosplayer girl, Marin, who occasionally loses all her personality and becomes waifubait. Did I mention that Marin also stalked Wakana and barged into his home without permission? You may call me Captain Obvious, but I still need to say it: Marin is not a realistic character, and I see no reason to like her as an actual person. I’m sorry to fans or anyone else I offended, but for potential viewers, this is not your anime of the season, nor an anime you should watch unless you unconditionally love ecchi rom-coms. Because it’s made by CloverWorks, a studio known for rushed adaptations, who knows how far the ‘romance’ will go. My Dress-Up Darling does have some decent moments every once in a while but it’s like finding a needle in a haystack. If you want good ecchi, go watch Ishuzoku Reviewers or Imouto Sae Ireba Ii. At least those characters are definitively adults. Ep5 Edit: If you are durable enough to slog through ep1-3, ep4 and 5 are actually MUCH better (w/ okay and somewhat minimal fanservice). It's getting better. Ep6 Edit: Never mind, back to being really bad. 2nd worst episode. Favorite Anime of the Season?! POSTED 9:30PST My Senpai is Annoying (my favorite!!) As of April 26th, 2021, I have begun to realize I might be transgender non-binary. For 19 and a 1/2 years, I've hated having a gender. I just wanted to be a person not defined by how I was born. But after learning what it means to be non-binary, that might be who I always was. My personal pronouns are they/them/their but if you call me by biological gender's he/him/his on accident, I won't be offended. I don't want to make this little fact a big deal. I'm still the same person. I just wanted to share with the anime community, even if not everyone will accept me. π³οΈπ I never knew why my favorite shows were about identity, why I liked character-driven stories with inner monologues, and why I loved the slice-of-life and school genre so much. It's because my life always felt like theirs. Random at times, but slowly moving forward and developing in your own story. I am the main character in my life and I hope the journey will be an enjoyable one :,) Here's a nice OST for you to cry to~ Remember, people can like flawed stuff. I also liked flaws shows and manga, but I acknowledge they are flawed. Just acknowledge they have flaws and don't use the "it's fiction so it doesn't matter" argument. A friend told me "Fiction affects reality" and they are right. As the critic minority, we all have a right to dislike something, so don't let some fan tell you off for having an opinion. Fun fact: Did you know? Anime/Manga reviews are opinions?!! π€― My co-writer deleted the review so I'm reposting here if you would like to read it. This review is co-written by IshigamiCrisis and LazyKarma Congratulations Fruits Basket: The Final. You are officially in the top 5 anime of MyAnimeList. We are former fans crushed by this entanglement of artificial romantic bonds that FruBas has become. Not only do you get away with every single romance cliche like the ‘romance-solves-everything’ trope, the ‘justified’ toxic relationship, the ‘age doesn’t matter’ trope, the ‘love-has-no-bounds’ cliche, but you also have questionable themes justifying grooming and victim-blaming. Fruits Basket: The Final only has 3 goals to accomplish based on the ending of S2. 1) Sail the ships of the main couples. 2) Redeem Akito, the ‘antagonist’, since at the end of S2, she is shown to have become trapped by the bonds, having to dress as a man to act as the head and ‘God’, because she doesn’t have anything except the bonds. 3) Somehow break the bonds. Does the final season do this and succeed? It actually does all of these BUT in the most contrived way possible where the writing twists everything good about the series and reduces it to common tropes and adds retcons, thus failing to do anything substantially. (TL;DR AT AT THE END. ENTERING LONG SPOILER SECTION) As we know, the way everyone is set free in Fruits Basket is when the bonds all break and the connection to Akito is severed. Who knew that the bonds were already breaking, in a conveniently timed retcon! Apparently, if all zodiacs are alive at the same time, the bonds will start breaking even though starting S1, they were already all born with Kureno’s bond already broken! Additionally, Fruits Basket falls into almost every trap when it comes to redeeming a character. The sad thing is that there is so much wasted potential because the anime actually sets up Akito’s character and motivations well enough to pull off a decent, even great redemption story. Looking at her backstory, her actions make sense. Raised to be a God of the zodiacs, she believes she is special. This position, however, leads her to have only the zodiac bonds. Even missing a decent parent figure once her dad dies, she clings onto the bonds, believing that being God allows her to hold on to every zodiac. But then everything else the anime does to try to redeem Akito goes horribly wrong. Why does Akito lack any real bonds and rely on the zodiac bonds? The Final answers this through a very one-dimensional, horrible parent in the form of Ren Souma, Akito’s mother. Fruits Basket: The Final keeps recycling the same narrative of an abusive parent without any depth. Ren, in love with Akito’s dad, is unable to love Akito. She feels extreme jealousy towards her own child due to how everyone values Akito more than Ren herself. She is a 1D character that wants Akito’s love as a zodiac God. Because of this, she is shown to condemn the bonds. It’s very contradictory to the message of this season because Ren ends up pushing Akito to hold on to the bonds. All for what? Now, one might say at least Ren’s wasted potential allows Akito to be redeemed. No, it does not. Obviously introducing a shallow backstory after a character physically and mentally abuses all the good characters is not enough. So what does The Final do? They make her pathetic. We can see her clinging to the bonds, but rather than portraying her as a sympathetic character, she is portrayed as very unlikeable. She comes off as an antagonist getting what she deserves when she can’t control those who are no longer a zodiac. This garners almost no sympathy after all the abuse she put him and the others through. When this does happen, we don’t hear enough inner monologue connecting to her backstory. At least add some dialogue after her backstory. You know what The Final does instead? They have Tooru, the kindest character, who faced the least of Akito’s abuse, give a monologue to sympathize with and save Akito. This is the absolute worst way to redeem Akito. Tooru relates holding onto her mom to Akito clinging to the zodiac members. Why does this not work in Akito’s favor? Tooru can’t move on from her dead mom, which is an attempt to show how she can’t confess her love to Kyo in the most contrived way possible to have her sympathize with Akito. This results in her giving Akito a bond that is not from the zodiacs, and thus saving her. This barely does anything to redeem Akito. Rather than sympathizing alongside Tooru, the audience is made to view Tooru as the nice girl who hates herself, the saint who believes she is not. Alright fine, at least this will allow Akito to actually repent and clear everything with the others? No. Instead this is used to increase the melodrama as Tooru finally makes progress with the last zodiac before tragically falling off a cliff. Then what happens next? Everyone in the aftermath adopts a forget and forgive mentality. Happily ever after. The end. After Tooru’s fall, Akito realizes how ‘nice’ Kureno is for staying with her and regrets stabbing him. Did anyone pay attention to what she said when stabbing Kureno? She asked him why he, a teen that was almost an adult, decided to stay with her, a literal child, instead of being honest with her when his bonds broke. Kureno did it to play the hero. He felt guilty when he saw her crying and wanted to feel better about himself. It’s not that he still viewed her as a God, because with all other zodiacs, we see how coldly they react once the bonds are broken. He even admitted he realized how unnatural the zodiac bonds were once his bonds broke. Kureno is romanticized as the good guy despite blatant grooming. No, he is not a father figure. He literally slept with her when he was a young adult and Akito was a child. Sadly, in the present time, the ‘antagonist’ Akito gives her ‘pathetic’ POV when stabbing the monster- the ‘good guy’ that is Kureno. Thankfully, for our ‘hero’ Kureno, he gets into ANOTHER pedophilic relationship with Uotani, a 17 year old high schooler, which The Final also romanticizes. In the last part of Akito’s character arc, Akito must learn that her actions are not something that can be simply apologized for. Unfortunately, the anime falls into one another trap. They just don’t have Akito apologize. Everyone forgives and forgets. When Akito gathers all the zodiacs to apologize, she just doesn’t. The Final instead takes the path of ‘action speaks louder than words’. It makes a rather hollow show of Akito letting go of the bonds. To add insult to injury, the scene also lacks the emotional impact of the cliff scene, with barely any meaningful dialogue of Akito reflecting on her actions. Since the narrative already viewed Tooru’s contrived sympathizing with Akito as Akito’s redemption, this scene has her looking ahead to the new and real bonds of the future. The Final then chooses to insert a convenient ‘actual’ zodiac story of how the zodiac God held onto the bonds due to loneliness. This also does nothing for Akito, as the sympathy is for this past zodiac God instead of Akito. In the end, we are supposed to have an empowering moment where Akito can finally be herself. This decent premise is once again ruined by romantic cliches and worst of all, grooming. Throughout the Final we never hear how Akito would like to be a girl. Rather, she’s just jealous that Tooru can so easily be considered pure and loved due to adhering to traditional femininity as the ‘nice girl’. When she gathers all the Soumas, she is shown to dress as a woman to earn the approval of Shigure and be with him rather than out of her own desire. We see him handing her kimono after multiple scenes where he shamed Akito for being masculine and tempting him. Additionally, the audience learns Shigure slept with Ren to see how Akito might be as a woman for ‘experimental purposes’. This is so disgusting on its own, but what makes it worse is the clear portrayal and justification of grooming. In the last scene before the kiss, Akito is shown to be wary and scared of Shigure. She feels constantly insecure around him and flinches at his touch. Akito even says outright that Shigure scares her the most out of everyone. Then, as Shigure professes his love to her, it cuts to a scene of Akito as a child and Shigure as a young adult giving her a flower as he says ‘I love you’. This clear intention of romantic love is predatory and pedophilic. Shigure is never punished for any of this; instead, he shows ‘self-awareness’ of his immoral actions and acts childish as a defense. Great writing. It ends with them together, romanticizing all the abuse Shigure put Akito through as a child and trying to paint this as Akito having another ‘real’ bond. Now, let’s talk about Kyo and Tooru, the last hope. What did the Fruits Basket mangaka do? Here is Kyoko’s response. “I’ll never forgive you [for ruining Fruits Basket]”-Kyoko and IshigamiCrisis to FruBas mangaka. It can’t get any worse right? It turns out that Tooru’s grandpa calls Tooru her dead mom’s name, Kyoko. And he’s aware it is “yes, perhaps” messed up, “but you see, I wanted to keep her [mom] alive. There had to be some way to tie them together, some sort of reminder or proof that I could offer that Kyoko really had existed, even if she was gone now.” He just confessed to emotional manipulation and verbal abuse. This adult man used to keep calling his granddaughter her dead mom’s name. How messed up is that? When funeral relatives roasted Tooru at her dad’s funeral, Tooru’s stupid grandpa retorts, “How stupid of them”. Yes gramps, very stupid indeed. Do something about it you hypocrite. Additionally, while Kyoko was hospitalized, Tooru became like her dad to ‘help her mom’ in her recovery, and her grandpa gives this a ‘thumbs up’ instead of telling her to be herself...It’s understandable Tooru did not want her mom to leave Tooru by herself but absolutely none of the adults told her she can be herself nor explained it’s not Tooru’s fault. Not her mom nor her grandpa. And no one comforted Tooru even after her mom died. The kind verbal abuser of a grandpa did nothing. All while Tooru is suffering, the director gives us a panning shot of Kyo in the background creepily staring at Tooru in her house before they had even met once. The classic shoujo stalker boy. Flashforward to the first time Tooru opens up her feelings about how the death of her mom is connected to why she struggles to have romantic feelings. Kyo is not understanding, but instead, abrasive. What does our beloved Kyo do? He looks down and pities Tooru for choosing to love him and diminishes her feelings as stupid. Wait...what? Kyo, why? Why is Kyo being a POS? Riddle me this, how does one ruin a favorite character of not only the final season, but all preceding seasons before? The answer: retcon. The establishment of Kyo’s romantic feelings towards Tooru already occurred within the first two seasons. Kyo had opened up after Tooru had embraced his ‘monster-cat’ side of him he had kept hidden, a very simple metaphor for accepting all of Kyo, even the scary parts. Kyo finally started learning how to close the gap between Tooru and himself and all was going well...except apparently...Kyo is an amnesiac. When Kyo sees a portrait of Tooru’s mom, his world comes crashing down. He remembered that Tooru’s mom, Kyoko, had died in a tragic car crash right in front of him, and breathed her last words, “I’ll never forgive you.” As a result, Kyo felt survivor’s guilt to the point he considers himself to be a murderer for bystanding. How sad. Unfortunately, this makes zero sense because how does one forget that their love interest’s parent died right before one’s eyes, let alone remove the memory of murder from one’s mind? Even if this is possible to a certain extent, it is VERY convenient how he remembers this now but not earlier with no prior context in previous seasons. It is a retcon. Additionally, no one amongst the crowd of people running away from the car nor Kyo, screamed, “A car is coming! Look out!” Not Kyo, not anyone. The car also went ‘screeee’, so no one except Tooru’s mom did not notice. It is apparent that Kyoko had suddenly developed deafness so this traumatic backstory could occur...Many people were running and there were many ways to at least bring the CGI car into attention but everyone except Kyoko noticed somehow. Somehow. There was even a family that dragged their kid around. The car even stopped once or twice so it was even MORE preventable. That means Kyo fell in love with the kid of someone he let die and forgot he let die for 2 seasons. We are not going to debate whether or not Kyo committed murder, but the man forgot this whole incident where he sees himself as a murderer! It is as if the thought of post-traumatic stress disorder never entered the FruBas mangaka’s mind until she decided to create the final conflict. Not only does this fail to make the slightest sense other than for dramatic purposes, it calls into question every single moment spent with Tooru beforehand. We are told that Kyo went on a trip to the mountains to recover from his guilt of letting Tooru’s mom die. When does Kyo meet Tooru? Right after he finished training in the mountains! Okay, maybe Kyo had never seen Tooru before...Wrong! Kyo knew where Kyoko and Tooru’s house was and even visited their house, creepily staring at Tooru through the window without her knowledge when they were both kids; don’t forget the time where he saw Tooru’s photographs through Kyoko! And no, Kyo did not forget either, because we in the audience see Kyo recall his vivid memories through flashbacks. That means, every single interaction he had with Tooru, romantic, platonic, even when he turned into his true form back in season 1 and had to have Tooru save him, Kyo had somehow suppressed or ‘periodically’ forgot his memories of Tooru and her mom. If you don’t call this a retcon, I don’t know what you call this. Every moment where Kyo had opened up was a lie. Every time he recalled his abusive parents or jealousy towards Yuki somehow omitted the fact that he was present during Kyoko’s death; all of this was just for this key event that tests Kyo and Tooru’s relationship. Yet there are still more problems. How did Kyo find Kyoko? He found her by chance because of his neglectful parents. What was the last straw for Kyo that caused Kyo to seclude himself? Yuki helping Tooru get back home instead of Kyo helping Tooru. How does Kyo act after Kyoko died right in front of him? “It’s not my fault. It’s his fault. Yuki’s.” *insert mountain training arc* At the present time, Kyo says, “It was all my fault.” Yes Kyo, you have learned. You blamed Yuki, forgot everything like an amnesiac and now that both you and Tooru are so close to being in a relationship, you suddenly remember your belief that you killed Kyoko, Tooru’s mom. Absolutely contrived. We don’t know how anyone can still like Kyo once it’s realized that’s how he always was since season 1. How does Tooru react to Kyo’s confession to his guilt and the knowledge that Kyoko told Kyo “I’ll never forgive you” right before Kyoko died? “[B]ut if she truly did say that, then… I…I...have to rebel against Mom!” With those few lines, FruBas has become a part of the ‘love-has-no-bounds’ cliche where she falls in love with someone she accepts murdered her mom (this is before she got the full details of how he didn’t actually kill her mom…). Even after hearing Kyo’s confession to letting her mom die, Tooru still unconditionally loves Kyo. Not even one second of hesitation. “I’m disappointed in you.”-Kyo and IshigamiCrisis. If anyone is flabbergasted by this wholly confusing statement, allow us to explain. To oversimplify, Tooru has been borderline brainwashed. Tooru’s dream was always to find a job and become independent without needing to rely on anyone else. She was still deeply affected by the loss of her mom, but found consolation from her friends, Saki and Uotani, and of course, the Soumas. Particularly with Kyo and Yuki in the previous seasons, they were the individuals who helped Tooru the most in opening up to her past and possibility of a romantic relationship. Who knew that we would then get another retcon! All along, Tooru carried this belief that you can only love one person at a time; Tooru’s familial love for her mom is the reason why she cannot love Kyo. So what must Tooru do? She must ‘stop loving’ her late mom who ‘left her behind’ in order to love the guy who let her mom die. Hence, she must ‘rebel’ against Kyoko for saying such cruel words, “I’ll never forgive you” to the man who let Kyoko die. Once the feelings are all sorted out near the very end, Tooru decides to move in with Kyo in his dorm so she’s no longer ‘left behind’. Tooru’s 3-D character as the sweet and kind, socially awkward girl that was working hard to overcome poverty and the loss of her parents is shattered. She has been reduced to a shallow ‘romance-solves-everything’ girl who only lives for love and moved on from her dead parents in the most unbelievably cliche and roundabout way possible. What about her friends? Nah, Tooru never loved them, because platonic love, familial love, and romantic love are all the same under Tooru’s rose-colored glasses. It’s not like she literally said she loved them in previous seasons... Now that she can move in with Kyo, she can just throw away that dream of being an independent woman supported by friends. Tooru no longer needs to provide for herself and her granddad, because Kyo can do that for her! Tooru has become illogically written to the point where the audience cannot understand her actions completely. A much better way to write Tooru was to have her realize her bonds with her late mom, her friends, Kyo and everyone else are equally important. Instead, she never learned that you can hold on to more than one special bond. It honestly contradicts the whole message of how bad it is to hold on to only one special bond with someone, like Akito. It’s not believable and it ruins Tooru’s character completely. What’s that? She ‘chose’ to value Kyo and dedicate her life to him? Why are they moving in like a married couple when they have not even completed high school? It is mind-blowing how stupidly contrived this romance has become. Any natural chemistry between these characters dissipated faster than Kureno’s bonds (We still do not know why his bonds broke first or why any bonds broke in any particular order). ‘Technically’, Tooru’s dream has ‘developed’ into becoming a housewife, if you can call it ‘development’. Tooru has abandoned both her love for her mom and any prospects of a good future. She’s reduced to an object and a treasure that Kyo will protect. Thanks to Kyo, she can ‘leave’ her mom and her friends and ‘move on’ because a male loves her. Yep. The choice is Kyo or her mom. All love is equal. You must choose romantic love or familial love, you cannot have both. There’s even evidence to support that this was always planned. There is a metaphor for Tooru’s choice that is foreshadowed when Tooru drops the picture of her mom indicating ‘her love’ for Kyo over her mom as early as Final Season episode 6. This drama was all planned. All poorly written just so we could have one of the most abysmal endings since TPN S2. (End of Spoilers) This season is the most frustrating to watch, and the sad thing is that we can see how it got so high. It has everything there. It just twists it, using melodrama to push the story to its end. Purely on enjoyment, ignoring every problematic relationship and because of the lovable characters, it could be seen as a 10. But this season is a shallow portrayal of the once phenomenal characters, ruining most of them as it desperately tries to conclude on every emotional beat it can manipulate. It is a failed attempt at anything meaningful, a disappointing conclusion to a series that could have possibly been one of the best shoujo anime. Although we have said a lot, there is not much left to say. Masterpiece or Failure? We’ve put in our take. The choice is yours. I have a right to an opinion and so do you. Feel free to agree or disagree, but this is what I think, so don't tell me "Your opinion s*cks!!" I also score while I watch an anime series (1st episode max of 8; at 1/2 way point of series, 8s can become 9s, and 10s are decided at the last episode unless they make me sob. Then the rule is broken, just like me). Scoring dropped anime is also fine in my opinion because you're scoring up to the episode you last watched + MAL does weighted scores. If I watched BOTH subbed and dubbed, I will score the one I liked better instead of averaging (see Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun). I am happy to discuss my thoughts and hot takes if you leave a comment :)) Additionally, if your argument is compelling enough, I am actually willing to change my scores like I have for Re:Zero, Boku Dake ga Inai Machi, and Yuri!! On Ice (P.S. Some of the images are clickable with reviews!!) 10: I can definitively say there's very little, if not nothing I would change about this anime because it approaches the definition of perfect. In my mind, this is better than everything else. Simply put, I loved it. 9: This deserved it. Not only nearly flawless, it had great main and supporting characters and/or an engaging, monumental story with defining moments like no other in its genre. Haruka: ABSTAIN (I actually couldn't decide) Yuno: FORGIVE Futa: FORGIVE Mu: FORGIVE Shidou: GUILTY god damn you driveway Mahiru: FORGIVE Kazui: FORGIVE Amane: FORGIVE Mikoto: GUILTY Kotoko: GUILTY Zombieland Saga Catch-22: Even if you are dead inside, you must live on. But even if you live on, does it matter if you're dead to everyone else? 8: Much love for this anime but minor unignorable issues such as filler arcs, pacing, sucky art/animation, consistency, memorability, or lack of development (character-wise or romantic). 7: No regrets watching. Could watch again in spite of issues such as pacing, repetitiveness, fanservice, and sometimes lack of excitement factor. Possibly had an amazing ending or horrible ending. Best overall at its strong points. 6: Worth checking out if you have mild interest. Better things exist but try anyways. 5: Would I rather watch this or Pokémon? 4: It tried so hard yet failed so hard or it didn't try at all so it's not even average... 3: Despite still being trash, it had one aspect going for it that if you like enough, you'll forgive every major flaw? Ch.1: The sound of the waves found its way into Gilberts ears. He slowly turns to the one who has just swam her way over, Violet Evergarden. The otherwise silence between then was cut by her attempts to catch her breath. She turned towards Gilbert before her eyes started filling up with tears and a smile. The tears began to fall victim towards gravity and join the rest of the water in the ocean. They both nodded towards each other as Gilbert moves his eyes off to the other person there. Gilberts one and truly love: Albert. Alberts hair slowly glided with the wind as it softly made its presence known to the group. Gilbert felt his lip quiver before he knew what he needed to say. His mouth opened and he spoke “I love you”-Alfredo_Elric Ch2: Alberts eyes widen as the words that escaped Gilberts lips was interpreted into his brain. Albert never thought that the one that he had hoped to be his one true love is telling him that he loves him. Albert could feel his heart speed up as his breath continues escape him. The waves hitting the shore shook him from his surprise as he could not help but turn towards Violet Evergarden. Her expression was still full of tears and hope he knew was for the both of them. She noticed his gaze and proceeded to take something that was close to her neck. After grabbing whatever it was, she slowly made her way over to Albert. After her struggles to get through the water, she proceeded to take his hand and put whatever it was into it. He could feel the smoothness of the object. Albert looked down and saw an object that reminded him of something he loved. The greenish blue made his appearance as he turned back to Gilbert once more. Violet spoke within the silence, encouraging him to go forward. Albert grabbed the object Tighter before holding it up to Gilbert. The words of alberts true feelings also was spoken into the air as Albert was forever grateful to violet for the very valuable gemstone that would forever remind him of the eyes of his now lover-Alfredo_Elric 2: Assuming I did not watch ironically, I borderline hated this. Everything except the visuals or 1 character was unwatchable; god forbid you watch for any other reason... 1: Something that's low quality in every single aspect that you regret watching, you drop, or watch ONLY for ironic enjoyment!! You might even wonder how it ended up on the MAL database or why people like it....If there were any decent visuals, it wasn't worth it (P.S. I try to be generous with 1s...) Side Note: Other than One Piece and Pokemon movies, there are a few anime I've unscored. Either my memory is so hazy of it yet I feel like I'm not qualified to score it at the moment and/or I need to rewatch. Or maybe you are 3-gatu which has a trash manga 100% certified masochist and killjoy dont @ me who watches bad anime/manga for ironic enjoyment or just cause I want to see how far it can be taken :)) Sometimes 'good' anime also trash though... The sun shined brighter when he was here. "Fiction exists to allow people to see a world/life that we won’t experience so we can learn from it. A lot of people use TV shows as a possible short escape from their life or just a fun thing to wonder what it would be like for you to actually be a part of that world. So fiction is more than just fiction. It is reality for the audience within the minutes you are watching/partaking the show."-Alfredo_Elric "One may stray from the path of a man, One may stray from the path of a women, But there is no straying from the path of a HUMAN! All friends must scatter into the sky..."-By Bon Clay “Swans never die and never say goodbye.”-Bon Clay “Even in the depths of hell, the flower of friendship shall still bloom, flames licking at its stem, and on the sands of the river where souls part from the living, it shares a solitary petal, leaving it behind as a memento. So, let us vow that we shall make it bloom again one day. Okama Way!”-Bon Clay “Let us meet again in the garden of Okama Way!”-Bon Clay "What are little boys made of? Frogs and snails, and puppy-dog's tails. That's what little boys are made of."-Nitori Shuuichi "What are little girls made of? Sugar and spice, and everything nice. You Found Me! I'm just hiding down here and singing 'La la la la' I'm a special kind of bak- senpai Baka Baka BAKA You're still here? Why though? What are you looking for? If you're looking for something, I'd give up now, just like I have on my love life Wow you're persistent Fineeeeeeeee Here's a picture of MBTI: INFJ (basically I don't drop so I can roast the crap out of a show) Alright, it's time for midterms so I'm gonna procrastinate by making a Favorite Ships Area!! Gosh darn MAL for not letting me fit 6 of the Zombieland Saga characters in my favorites so this will have to do~ Kaguya x Miyuki Iino x Ishigami Ai x Junko Cause it's in season, just gonna stock up on a lot of photos hehe Koito x Nanami Nozaki x No One, cause my guy is ace π€ The best for last, BertBert PSA: I don't actually support this ship, it's just a meme lmao; Albert is 15 and Gilbert is like 30 so NO Nezuko x Box Poor Maki ;=; Wanna know my deepest darkest secret? I'll tell ya. I didn't know Mari was Omori's sister until Part 2 π IDKY but I just find Perona hilarious. I wasn't really impressed until I saw the GOATED Usopp vs. Perona 'fight' and I can't help but laugh every time. Her spoiled personality is perfect as a comedy straight man and her cocky attitude with fighting is a great watch. Her character design is also really cool for a horror get-up! It looks pretty!! Add to the fact that both sub and dub voices nailed the role and she's basically the perfect comedy side-character!! Would've used another actually aesthetic image as my profile pic but it's currently the best it can be. Without further ado~ |
