| I'm super excited! It looks stunning, and I think the plot should be pretty interesting - I mean, this is Hosoda. (And yeah, I agree that it kinda feels like Summer Wars 2.0, but I definitely don't mind it!) I wish 3DCG looked a teeny tiny bit better, though. |

| I'm pretty optimistic. If they play it straight like beauty and the beast for the online audience of today then he's it will be pretty generic. But that's an amateur move and I don't think a director of this caliber would ever do that. So I'll expect the unexpected and that is very, very good |

| I'm skeptical. I liked Hosoda's early films but was let down by Boy & the Beast and Mirai. Hosoda is good at directing but needs a good collaborative writer for his films to work. |

Says air date is the 16th of july but I can't find it anywhere... I believe it has came out already but from my personal experience some anime movies take many months, like 6 on average to be available to watch on the internet for free in HD if they are only showed in cinemas. I waited around that long for my hero academia and i think dragon ball super movies but of course it's possible that it could be available a lot sooner. |
| I saw this today in Osaka and I'd say go into it with a open mind. I would agree that it's got a lot of similarities with Summer Wars. As of now, I think I like Summer Wars more and as it made more sense to me, was easier to follow, and does a better job of showing the connection between the futuristic social media world and the real world in my opinion. However, I still think Belle definitely stands out as its own thing and is worth checking out! You might like it more! It has some great moments and I'd say the art, music, and general production values are excellent. I also really love the kayak/canoe guy XD I think the thing that surprised me the most was that it has almost Disney-level amount of musical sequences. | According to MAL, Masakatsu Takagi, the composer of the OSTs for Wolf Children, The Boy and the Beast, and Mirai, won't be composing this one. If that's true, that's pretty disappointing. His music is a big part of why I love the three aforementioned movies so much. Regardless, I'm still looking forward to this movie and I hope Taisei Iwasaki's OST is good. |
