| I read the first chapter of the manga for the lols. It is another of those "why is this not a hentai" type of stories. Pretty much the titular setting happens and they jump right to making out. There sure has been a lot of these 5 min josei ecchi lately... Like the one with the monk and the other with the prison guard. I could only read the beginning (Japanese services expect you to pay after that), so I don't know whether they went all the way with it, but while she didn't exactly give vocal consent, she didn't really seem that against it either. The chapter kinda cut them off in the middle of it though, so drama might happen afterwards. I guess they were both a bit drunk, but neither of them was half-asleep etc. |

The point is there's a loooot of them. As glad that I am that ecchi for women is actually a thing now, all of these need to a) be more than 5 mins and b) stop cutting out the sex. Otherwise it's kinda difficult to care when the story is so obviously truncated. You don't need to show everything, just move camera to the side or something. If Utena could get away with it in the 90s without even being ecchi, surely you can do it too. |

| I almost wonder if this is the influence of 50 Shades of Grey finally hitting home and having an influence on Japanese media, since it had a weird delayed/staggered release in Japan. All of these tend to have the same sort of weird/iffy consent issue throughout, and towards the end turn to mild kink/BDSM. The latter is what seems to distinguish these from "normal" hentai, which generally don't fuss about with the mild stuff, and instead move straight to the enemas or pulse genital torture. That and the fact that these almost always deal with a single female character and one or two dudes. |
