Thanks for that. It had took me this long to finally reach 300. Now 99 more anime's until I reach 400.

(Sorry for not checking my messages earlier since I'm not use to checking them.)

I am so loving all the ongoing salt I'm seeing in my brainwashed area. The gloating I get to do is fantastic.

Your comments on Tylor have been duly noted, and I hope to get into it sooner than later! Excel Saga is another I really want to check out since I've heard it mentioned a bunch since I started Bo-bobo and it sounds like another great gag comedy. I haven't seen any clips, but I've listened to the OP numerous times because it's such a bop!

AAAH! I've been wanting to watch Captain Tylor so badly! It seems like a show that's right up my alley! Christmas is just over a month away, so I'm hoping I can pick up the Blu-rays of the series and OVAs!

Dang, that's really interesting stuff about dubs and studios! I'd still consider myself to be in an early phase of anime/manga consumption, so despite having already seen quite a bit from Toei, I never really picked up on the inconsistencies of their production, though I can totally see it now that you've explicitly stated it. If you have the Bo-bobo Blu-ray by Discotek, I believe you'd be safe giving the sub a try because even though I'm only a bit over halfway through, every joke rooted in Japanese culture has been handily explained by a short and sweet footnote or subtitle so I can quickly understand the point that's being made and enjoy it. God bless the folks at Discotek! I'd be so lost as an anime fan without them!
Hammontron Nov 8, 11:48 AM
Sorry, I should've been more specific. The sub still has a lot Japanese word-play, which Discotek did a really impressive job translating in a way that made the jokes easy to understand, but I was referring to the dub's attempts at adding word-play or silly dialogue where there wasn't any initally. An example being a scene where Don Patch beats the snot out of a villain who says, "I felt that!" but in the dub says, "That's a buncha punch!" The latter is certainly sillier but it does stuff like this so frequently, likely for the amusement of children, that I don't enjoy it as much as the sub which doesn't feel the need to make EVERY line of dialogue silly. The dub also added dialogue where there wasn't any initially in certain scenes, probably to hold the attention span of kids, which I didn't find to be as effective as the sub because the duration and timing of the silence leading up to the punch-line just made the gags that much better. Just my personal take though.

The stage play actually starts from the beginning and introduces the characters just like in the manga and plays out a lot of the early gags! Clip 1 Clip 2 I'm watching the series with the official sub on Blu-ray, and I think I actually prefer it to the dub (which I still love) because it leans more into the crass and mean-spirited humor of the original Japanese, and doesn't have a lot of the extra silly word-play that the dub added for children. Still great stuff all in all!

Absolutely beautiful Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo review! It spoke to me on so many levels! Did you check out the stage play that it had in Japan just last month?

Hey, can you assist me with something real quick, friend? It's about KF.

Send me a PM, if you would. Thanks

Hello to you. First time we meet. Say, do you wanna write a story with me?
CrimsonCW Jun 17, 2023 4:45 PM
Understandable; it's hard to keep together during all the bullshit going on, to say nothing about stuff like this that doesn't matter.
But wow, you already got hitched? When did that happen? Congrats though! When did that happen? Did you announce it anywhere or something? Hopefully not somewhere like KF or anything though.

Ah, well that does explain it then! As someone who absolutely never ever uses the homepage, no wonder!

You know, they send me the most retarded email notifications about conventions and anime I couldn't gives less of a shit about all the time, how about.... you know? Friends' birthdays? Would be a step up...

Sorry for missing it! Happy belated birthday! It's really hard for me to remember anything these days. (Why doesn't MAL send notifications for friends?)
It’s time to ditch the text file.
