Glad to see Akira doing better since that incident.

It's also nice to see the show explore more of her school life. Up to this point, the show focused more on her workplace. The rain reflects an fitting mood for this episode. At the same, the episode reflected on a past incident on Akira when she fell down and injuried herself. It didn't rely on much dialogues to do the storytelling as it showed human emotions from Akira's perspective. Really well done imo.

I also really like the music used for this episode. Fits so well for this show's storytelling. On a lighter note, I find the scenes with manager to be quite amusing. Even at his age, he's still pretty entertaining to watch especially when he's with Akira.

So the seemingly impossible relationship is progressing and we learned a couple of things about the past.
Akira hurting her feet must have been very hard on her seeing how much she liked running.

Also the Boku part was funny.

I feel bad for Akira for not being able to participate in the tournament. She really likes running. Lots of rain in this episode. Looks like she might go on a date with Masami. Their relationship is progressing nicely.

Good to see an actual dialogue between x and y, and not just embarrassment and misunderstanding like in other "romance" anime. The visual part was again gorgeous, we also finally! Get to see more of that tanned girl, which is great ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

This show must have had a very healthy and long production time. It looks incredible.

The shots in this episode were gorgeous.

Tachibana doesn't give up and just straight up confesses and wants an answer from him. He is giving it the appropriate thoughts and handles it tastefully with his calm demeanor.

This show loves to play with atmosphere, always a plus for me.

You know this is not the ordinary romance anime when our protagonist doesn't let confession prevention cliche get in her way, she's literally prepare to abandon everything to confess him

I really liked this episode and the anime in general so far.
The animation is soo pretty, especially those eyes all the time. And they actually get really wet when it rains! Not just some "drops" and the rest is like they're dry :D
Really likable charakters, not your standard romance... and they are so cute, both of them. aww

The more I watch it, the more I love it. And the more I love it, the more I want them to be together. Well, one day in the future. It wouldn't count as pedophilia so it's okay.
I've waited to see confession scene. Anime staff did great with rain and everything, it was beautiful. I'm still amazed how wonderful this anime is.
At first it's "ok, that's weird" but then you watch it, you know more and more about characters and understand them better. And you see it's not weird, it's adorable.
I can't wait for nex episode, though I know it won't be happy.

I can't help but wish that Japanese women wrote more anime as I watch this, and think back to the similarly sharp writing in other seinen and josie (e.g., Kuzu no Honkai, Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu). They seem to be doing the best work right now, and have a strong knack for character development—even in ecchi (e.g., Okusama ga Seitokaichou), which is usually devoid of personality.

Tachibana is confused by Kondou's "thank you" in response to her confession. She's dragged into watching a track practice that draws out some jealousy, and brings back some bad memories; she misses the camaraderie with her old partner, Haruka Kyan. Further, we get a hint as to what the title, "After the Rain", represents, and we see the act of kindness that sparked her romantic interest in Kondou.

In the middle of a gorgeously shot downpour, Tachibana confesses again. And again, Kondou doesn't take it seriously until it becomes too obvious for him to dismiss. His age seems to be his only hang-up. He inadvertently agrees to go on a date with Tachibana to dispel her infatuation.

I continue to be impressed by how the characters not only speak through words, but also through their expressions and body language. That's some excellent directing courtesy of Ayumu Watanabe; kudos again. And Tachibana is a lot more forward and forceful than I thought she'd be. The way she intimidates Kondou with her glaring is hilarious.

Excellent episode.

Finally a straightforward anime this season. Tired of "background" "character development" "historical context introduction" episodes or some more bullshits to give excuses.

And as someone above said, straight to the romance, no retard confessions . in episode 11 and a lame forced ending to close the season or cliche tsun - yan him - DERE females "baka chan oni sama baka baka"

I seriously think this anime deserves 8+ score so far.

OK....I've fallen in love with this anime, the characters, the soundtracks, and the OP and ED..

This is just too beautiful, especially the art.. and.. omg..Tachibana's Eyes.... superb animation...

Also, love the small and steady growing relationship between the two MCs ... It might sound weird, but for me, they are such a good match for each other...
And there is no way you can hate a straight up confession, not once but a few times...bravo..

Also, even though I don't read the manga, somehow I feel that they will probably wait 1 year before they become an official couple..
Tachibana is 17 years old and that scene at the middle where they showed the 'under 18' sign looks like a foreshadowing of some sort...

Anyway, loving this show and can't wait for each new episodes...

Beautiful ep but the final scene got me worried... if an actual romantic relationship was to develop between them that would immediately kill all my investment in the show.

Otherwise this anime is working just great as a meditation on youth. The moments when the manager gets nostalgic are sooo good.

Great episode.

Honestly, I was expecting things to get brushed away with the actual romance progression pushed towards the end of the series, it's quite refreshing to see the series tackling the romance so early.

The shots are fantastic especially the flashback to Akira's injury where she trips on the track, the visuals for that were really really good. Wit Studio have been nailing it recently with this and Mahoutsukai no Yome.

The sound direction is fantastic, especially for the scene where Akira confesses in the rain.

Kondo just digs his own grave at time. xD
Looking forward to next week.

This was quite the episode, totally loving the direction this goes.

Kondou-san slowly realizing the feelings Akira harbors for him. Totally can comprehend the struggle he's going through, I mean who would believe that a young girl would fall for a middle aged man, especially when one has such a low self esteem. And there're are also the concerns regarding how society would perceive such a relationship.

Negative thoughts aside, good to see him also starting to get used to this idea, since he was imagining himself to be a young boy again. Can't wait for further developments.

Also have to praise the visuals in this episode, the location for the last segment just looked great,it highlighted the atmosphere of this scene.

Seeing Akira blush and to get exited over a possible date was so cute :3

Well, I didn't expect Tachibana to keep on trying with the confessions, but I have to give props to the show and to her for not putting it off again until right at the end, as most shows would do. It was interesting to see Kondo's changing reactions, unable and unwilling to believe at first, then trying to make Tachibana see how morally reprehensible other people would see it, and then thinking back to his childhood and whether someone else treated him like Tachibana has done back then. Notably, he never actually dismissed Tachibana's confession out of hand, and instead just offered excuses each time.

As for the moral side of it? Not my place to judge, ultimately: I just want a compelling and interesting story, and that's what I've been getting from this show so far, and I'm sure that'll continue even if the show heads in that direction (with the maturity that it's handled the issue so far, I have faith in the show to do it well, one way or another).

Cute and well written. It's refreshing when characters act in a way that somewhat resembles real people and not acting as stock anime character templates.

Really great atmosphere and direction in this ep, what I feel is the anime is pointing that Tachibana is using her crush as an escapism so as to not to return to the track field-some really nice foreshadowings like when they showed her encounter with the manager just as she was walking in the rain and immediately confessed after mulling over her past and injury. Hope to see the anime going more into the subject later on.
Also glad to see that they are actually interacting instead of dragging this on.

It's nice to see that Akira remained persistent when it came to confessing. I'm sure a lot of other shows would have brushed the way the previous episode ended off to the side and have Akira continue admiring Kondo from afar until later. But instead, they follow up on last episode's ending and continue to have Akira pursue him. Now Kondo has accidentally agreed to go on a date with Tachibana, so that should be fun to see.

Also, we got to see exactly how Akira ended up getting injured. Who knows, maybe it was a blessing in disguise as she might have never met Kondo if she never got injured.

I see they took the 3-episode rule to the heart. Pretty sure this series saved a lot of drops with this episode.

It is fun and all that they made their feelings clear to each other, but I hope they won't drag out this "half rejected" relationship for the entire season.

I so love overall rainy vibes and atmospheres and here was no different. Made for some beautiful visuals. Poor Akira, reliving her painful injury. Took quite a bit of courage to confess to Kondo like that, but his reactions and concerns are the important and predictable ones. Still, he handled things fairly gracefully until that date slip up at the end. Well let's see how this goes.

Definitely the best episode of the three! This series wastes no time- we've already got a confession and a possible date looming in the horizon for these two...take notes other romance anime! XD

It was nice to see Kondo's side a bit more as well and I absolutely adore the cute and awkward interactions between these two. The whole "middle-aged boy" thing had me rolling, what a man-child.

The developments seem convincing to me. Tachibana's ankle (torn Achilles tendon?) injury was as much a psychological trauma as it was a physical one. Her heart is hurting when she interacts with her former teammates. It is brilliant the way the creators show her hurt, instead of having her say it. One suspects that her feelings toward her teammates are conflicted.
The rain really set the mood as is the fashion in classic Japanese cinema - it is somber.
Kondo's reactions were also believable. At first he does not think that a young girl such as Tachibana could ever like a guy like him, and even is worried that the young employees are trolling him. I feel for the poor guy. He even reveals to Tachibana that he sees himself as a guy without prospects or goals.
What a thoughtful and thought-provoking series. Anime at it's finest in many respects.
