| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Not bad this episode. It felt a little slow but the head to head competition between Masami and Masami is entertaining. I do feel that at this point, the amount of background storytelling on Chinatsu is a bit much. I'd rather they focus on building towards the future rather than the past so much at this point. The way this episode explored more of Chinatsu's character had a good amount of psychology though imo. She's determine to win more than ever. |

| When i feel like i need to say something bad about the MC, i remember that this is shounen, sports shounen. Seem like it would be good for him to finally do something, something right at this point. But hey at least there are girls. Well, lets see how this will end. |

| Next episode is going to be so hype. I really can't wait and finally seems like Tatara and Chinatsu are going to be in unison. Best scene of this episode is young Chizuru xD. She finally find her perfect partner in Sengoku. |
| Great episode. Hyoudou's technique to loosen up Tatara's muscles seems to have put our couple off balance but that's paved the way for them to develop. The final quarter of the episode was masterful. The door analogy along with Chinatsu evolving to match Tatara and them thus forming their on unique chemistry was stunning. Nice parallel drawn between Chinatsu and Chizuru. The soundtrack in the last quarter was amazing. That being said the continuous door opening cuts with Little Tatara saying open the door could drive someone crazy if they were forced to watch it for hours on end. XD I also love Hyoudou's insightful commentary on what's going on. |

| Kiyoharu's experiment on Tatara didn't go as planned and it made his dance with Chinatsu off balance, but it worked out at the end. The imagery with Chinatsu trying to evolve her dance with Tatara was great. They are finally dancing in unison. Kiyoharu's commentary on what's going on was pretty good. |

| Loving this show more and more. Balance is the key for Tatara and Chinatsu to utilize their entire potential, the door to the Zone was already openend,but they still need to get a feel for it. |

| This whole thing with Tatara and Chinatsu opening the door kind of reminded me of Kuroko no Basket when Kagami opened the gate. I really liked the way they presented this door thing though, it was animated quite nicely. Tatara and Chinatsu are still struggling, but they seem to have finally found that perfect harmony at the end of the episode. I'm sure things can only go up from here. These two have unfortunately been fucking up quite a bit, but hopefully, after successfully opening the door, they'll get back on the right track. This final stretch of episodes should be good. |

| Stunned by how much technical detail and psychological depth there is to each episode. Pacing in general is done in a strange way though, from the preview it even looks like they'll spend the next episode on developing Kugimiya despite having just 3 weeks until the finale. |
| The whole door metaphor was pretty awesome to showcase Tatara/Chinatsu and their mindsets. Chinatsu finally adapting to Tatara! Animation in the last few scenes was brilliant. |

| Nice episode. The Kugimiya pair are something. More trouble for Tatara after that stretch. Seems him & Chinatsu were in sync again at the end. |

DCU_Master said: what chapter was this episode in the manga? I think its chapter 40 (Heat 40). However, you won't know some characters as they weren't adapted such as the 2 kids you'll see. I'm pretty sure the anime is having its own original ending and from the looks of the 'next episode preview' it's skipping a couple chapters or changed chapter order? Though, some future chapter scenes were adapted in the previous episodes. Kind of jumbled around. |

| This episode seemed entirely focused around beating a dead horse, I'm glad they finally came to a resolution but this was a really slow episode, it was boring. |

| All I'm saying is if that if that door analogy is really what it feels like to dance with Tatara poor Chinatsu xD She be constantly breaking down doors and this kid just keeps smiling like "open the door chi-chan!" LOL nah but real talk that analogy is great. The fact Chinatsu is dressed like a lead too, speaks volumes. Even though she's not in that role anymore she's not budging from the position, she wants Tatara to lead but yet continues to think/act like a leader. |

| A lot of metaphors this episode. Well it's nice to get the commentary, but the episode begins to drag again. And if Kugimiya will be the focus next episode, it's going to be another backstory episode. I guess they really are trying to save up for the last dance... |

| Well an equivalent power on both sides of leading and following seems to make the most sense considering the other options don't work as good for them. But in real life, does that exist in dancing? How would you even do that? Do you literally swap turns of leading/following every 4 seconds or is it whenever you "feel" like it's your turn to step in? Wouldn't you need to be connected on an incredible level to do that? TL;DR: It seems like it's just making it up, tbh. But then again, it's anime, so.. I still enjoy it. |

| The crucial tide has started to change for Chinatsu. Seeing Tatara struggle after having his muscle tissue loosened by Hyodo is putting a strain on their performances and Chinatsu clearly wants to help him as much as she can. The door segment was very interesting to see how unbalanced both Tatara and Chinatsu were. Thankfully, after understanding both her and Tatara's weaknesses, the balance between the two finally clicked into place and the pair really started to shine near the end of the 4th dance of the semi-finals. Kugimiya's backstory will be covered next week, which looks very interesting. =) Overall, the episode's pace might've slowed down quite a bit, but the explanations of the dances, along with the multiple opinions of Hyodo and the others, as well as the crucial development of Chinatsu and Tatara's dance made this episode very enjoyable. =) |
| Chinatsu finally acknowledging and considering for Tatara. I really hope we'll see Tatara get a growth spurt in the future, sucks to be compared to a pomeranian :-P |

| The last dance, Chinatsu changed her personality, she started to understand her paper in the team, and so both started to dance...I hope in the next dance continues because they are playing with the pass to the final!!! |

| The door example really helped to put Chi & Tatara's imbalance into perspective. Really enjoying their dynamic as a couple and watching as their transformation flies in the face of all conventional wisdom. |
