10/10 - Life-changing, the closest thing one can find to perfection even if they accept that nothing can be perfect - The best anime has to offer. Most series that end up here have forever left their mark on me - changed my perspective, my
way of viewing the world, have taught me more about myself than I ever knew.

9 - A masterpiece for its respective genre, practically a classic with outstanding entertainment among a list of other merits - An amazing representation of what other anime should aspire to be for its selective genres, something I deeply enjoyed that could be rewatched multiple times and never lose its appeal.

8 - Memorable in some way or another, probably beyond incredible but lacking a bit in one area - Beyond impressive, most series that make it here are ones I would recommend to anyone because they are so amazing that they define the meaning of must-watch, but may fall a bit short of being a masterpiece.

7 - Too many flaws to be excellent but too many strong points to be considered average - Most series fall here for one of two reasons, either it had something of a generic or unimpressive premise but managed exceed my expectations for it albeit not without some bumps and bruises along the way, or it's a series that had great promise and failed to fulfill the potential it showed but still remained an enjoyable, entertaining watch.

6 - Average like a tacos, it's bland and unsatisfying in some ways but hey it's pizza - Cliched and buys into a lot of predictable tropes, may have some plot holes or a less than impressive ending. Typically those anime with a decent premise that don't quite fulfill or barely reach their potential land here.

5 - Subpar, generic, your less-than-average anime that warrants viewing but leaves you feeling bored and unfulfilled - It has some redeeming aspects to it, but on the whole it is incredibly flawed and falls short in a number of areas. Worth viewing for those to whom the genre appeals, but otherwise barely a scrape above the rest.

4 - I came out of this with battle scars - There was some entertainment value, the series was just executed very poorly. The plot suffered, the characters suffered, and I probably suffered along with them. Just in a different way.

3 - Why was this anime even a thing - Absolutely atrocious, it was miserable to sit through and if given the opportunity, I would never view it again. But something somewhere was either slightly entertaining, or it gave me the impression that it had some potential.

2 - I now regret my life choices - Still trash but maybe not quite ready to throw into the fire, it had at least one redeeming quality that I had to sift through the garbage to find.

1 - The creators should regret their life choices - Complete and utter trash. Anything that achieves this rating is a mistake to animation. There's no better way to describe it than that.
