| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- This was definitely the most saddest episode yet. Very powerful and emotional, and I felt really sorry for Maru and Moro. They're so happy and bright all the time, and I didn't realize until now that they never left the shop (Episode 8; they're out near the balcony, but not outside the shop's premises) at all. It's a shame that the animation seemed worse than usual. I like its style, but at times it's pretty bland, which prevents xxxHOLIC from a 10 score. I'm wondering if Rie (the girl with the Fallen Angel) will reappear in the next episode, but it seems unlikely. The next two episodes seem to focus on these twin girls with curly brown hair. Damn! I forget to mention the pipe fox! Saying it was kickass is an understatement. |

| I liked how Doumeki grabbed the blade of that razor blade knife. Pipe fox transforming was pretty cool this episode also. |

| What's with that episode out of the blue? I wish they picked it up from where they left it, episode 12 really felt unfinished T.T However,it's the best episode so far. |

| Personally I don't think this was the saddest episode, I think the one where that girl gets killed by that monkey paw was a little bit more for me. Still, it was sad. :( |
| I thought Maru and Moro having no souls was extremely sad, but in a shocking way. What a dark revelation.. LOVE that pipe fox! Talk about awesome! All in all, not a bad episode! Can't wait to keep watching :-) |
| This was probably my favorite episode of the series by far, so I'm giving it a 5 out of 5! Pipe fox kicked butt! I really admire him now~ I never knew that Maru and Moro couldn't leave the house. I guess it's kind of fitting towards the story, though I feel a little sad for them. |

| Seee... that's why that little thing that transforms into an awesome monster extermination when it needs to be one is one of my favorite characters of all the Animes I've watched so far... Man that little thing completely own the deathly wings of despair hahahahaha Yes the Fox was the best but the episode itself is pure win... I totally loved this arc of the manga, and seeing it happening animated I totally love it... Little you know that in the manga has a bigger role than in this episode where the meaning of the possession is left off there without further xplanation besides why the girl was possessed... I love her btw... she's cute... one of my favo support characs of xXxHOLiC... And Maru and Moro... their importance is even bigger with this... It's quite sad... Indeed a sad chappie... but sadder ones will come to us soon Signs, Green |

| I want a pipe fox, dammit. Great episode, as always. I agree, if only for the animation it would have been rated a 10 from everyone who wrote a review. I actually don't think the art/animation is that bad. I actually think it's pretty. Poor twins. It's pretty sad that they can't leave the shop. Hopefully we will see more of a back-story on the girls later on? Also, did anyone else get the feeling they were watching 'The Shining' when the girls talked in perfect synchronization? "Come play with us! Forever and ever and ever!!" Yuko has the best clothes, dammit. 5/5 |

| I love that pipe fox. I want one! The episode's story was good, I thought, but the BGM, animation, and even sound effects were... really pathetic, I thought. Wonder if the budget was tighter the week they produced this. Wish it would do CLAMP justice more, since their drawings are usually so gorgeous and it's tough for anime adaptations to live up to the manga, at least in terms of art. Looking past technicalities, though... Yep, I definitely agree that this was a great episode. |

| yuko was so beautiful in the blue yukata - also noticed: a lot of the monster character designs remind me of blood-c - i can definitely see clamp's stylistic stamp on both (and love it) - cracked me up when maru and moro said, "watanuki's the straight man" - so awesome!!! yet another great episode that makes a comment on the foibles of humanity: it's always the quiet people who keep it all inside who go the most crazy/psycho - been there myself! i love the pipe fox!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

| Watanuki is so annoying. Dude, just ask the girl out or confess or whatever instead of flipping out over the other guy who clearly doesn't care. You look pathetic. No woman is going to go for a guy that can't be honest, is super jealous, and fakes everything in an attempt to impress her. that was one creepy parasite. dunno why it had to be violent though, it could have just quietly gotten by. |

| Wings form on the drawing . It’s now much harder to view these characters not as bullies. The wings are growing larger. Don’t don’t I swear, please don’t that is not appropriate way to act in this situation OK good barely saved. She can manifest fire. Watch your back for wings. Non-visible wings. They’re solace. There is a rift between the shop and the world. The inside of the shop is not the same as the outside. She owes him a little bit give him a couple seconds without the other guy showing up. Guess not of course not. She’s also bullying this guy at this point. This is just manipulation at this point. The winged one is hitting people. He grabs the knife by the blade. The wings fly off of her back. The pipe fox levels up. The fallen angel. It takes a person‘s ability for self-control in exchange for them, losing all self-restraint. It only feeds on those who secretly want to lose control. Her soul is now unstable, and her mind has retreated into itself. Humans are a strange mixture of strength and weakness. She let herself fly away. 3 |
