Well that was pretty Average in my opinion. I'm guessing this is just before they enter the Digimon world in the main series so they don't have their mega forms yet or any other tamers are Digimon aren't as widely known.

The villain wasn't very fleshed out I mean it just wants to destroy humanity for no particular reason other then it was born from the remnants of Apocalymon's data and how he does this is by putting a virus in a weird V-Pet computer managing program thing which can somehow manage emails and and play learning games idk. Either way the virus eats data making whatever it is on malfunction and can also create digimon somehow. The thing that bothers me is that apparently this thing is so popular people installed it in surgical equipment, aeroplane computers and an Hydroelectricity plant (I think). Which makes no sense.

Anyway after all the filler stuff they find the girl with the vaccine program because they want to blackmail the developer to find where it is which is evil but that's not the point they put her in some room that apparently has lasers and rocket defenses or something, No idea what this place is for with all this automated security junk Takato and Kai just kinda end up there even though they had no idea they took the girl there and Kai just happened to know this cave.

So far there hadn't really been any actual fights most if not all ending abruptly in a couple hits, BlueMeramon who can use ice attacks was beating up Renamon of course since he is a Ultimate (Perfect) level Digimon but then he gets beaten when she transforms into a champion somehow. which always annoys me that lower evolution digimon can somehow beat higher ones one on one. Well past that the Boss battle was extremely underwhelming, He starts off as Mephistomon and they do nothing to him until they shoot huge ship above him which comes falling down neat him when they do. Somehow they knew this would happen even though everything is floating and that takes him down, Of course after he comes back as Gulfmon who is a Mega (Ultimate) and they go ahead and attack him as champions even though that didn't even work when he was weaker and they all get badly hurt which again is stupid if you send a champion to attack a mega and the mega hits it that digimon should just die because it's tamer is an idiot of course they don't and then they digivolve finally (btw having the 2 2D digivolve scenes right next to the 3D one looks horrible especially at the end where it shows all 3 transformed and WarGrowlmon is 3D and the other 2 look like they've been Copy/pasted on either side using paint xD) annd right after that they use some asspull move where they turn into beams of light and fuse together to just instantly destroy him... Like that's the most corny, unrewarding, uneventful, bullshit fight I've ever seen in the history of anything... That move never shows up ever again and I hope it never does.

The end pretty much just shows the virus digimon and evil V-Pets dying and that the world is back to normal, Only problem is Omnimon teleported Ruka from their town over to where Takato's friend lives and that means she'd need a aeroplane back xD So I'd like to think she's just stuck there and people are just like wtf Ruki.

Anyway moral of the story don't install V-Pets on important equipment you stupid idiots, 6/10

A bit boring to be honest.
The enemy wasn't strong at all and the story was a bit weird with Omegamon appearing.

Not the best Digimon film, not as good as any of the Adventure ones. The plot with the dog was sad, though, and Omnimon's scene was a "whoah!" moment. I guess this confirms that Tamers and Adventure are basically set in different universes.

Wow, it's good to see Culumon again, so cute! 3D was used in many scenes, which I hate. Too bad Guilmon was transported in a tight suitcase, isn't that abuse? :v. Anyway, movie full of jokes with the people of Okinawa. It was fun and interesting, but strange.

Yeeeeah, it wasn't all that interesting. Honestly, it feels like the fighting plot was out of place; as if this was supposed be the kids chillaxing for a summer not a fight for the world movie. The whole fight is just lame and Omegamon being there felt like fanservice.

I would say the animation is what really makes this movie shine. It's really beautiful and I wish this is how Tamers looked like. The CGI is outdated as usual but for the V-Pet part, I think it fits for the time. Why MeglaoGrowmon still had CGI when Rapidmon didn't was a total copout, though.

Another thing I think deserves praise is that this movie shows how good fights can be when the digimon don't yell out their attack names. When they didn't the fights flowed so so well and the times they did, there wasn't much lag like in the TV series. I really wish shounen didn't stick so hardcore to this trope, fights really are better without it.

6/10 for that animation and smoother fights.

I was about give this a 7, but Omegamon's appearance feels so random, along with some other minor issues I had with this movie.

On the other hand, I liked the summer vacation vibe that was present everywhere. Culumon's butt being bitten by fish was funny.

annoyingly shit was a pain to watch with continual buffering, but other than that (no fault of it's own) was good and enjoyable.
Also that Kai kid shows up towards the end of the series and I was wondering who he was, so is this one technically canon and takes place mid series? I had no idea. I thought they were all out of place/time and best to watch after.

It’s time to ditch the text file.
