Should I watch it right after 1 or right after I finish 2?

Doesn't matter. Both S2 and the movie suck.

I did not even finish Psycho Pass 2 just did not clicked for me and Mika is a bitch. But I dont think I missed anything out when I watched the movie . Mika(a character in PP2) only appeared briefly but did not influence the movie or other PP2 characters at all. PP2 feels like some filler between season 1 and movie to be honest.

Its mostly about Akane and kougami with some new villains outside Japan.

Don't watch season 2, it ruins the universe, the plot is stupid it ruins some of the characters, it's totally pointless... The movie is good though, watch the movie although don't expect it to conclude the story.

Anime is good, fucking deal with it.

Watch season 1 then the movie. Pretend season 2 never existed.

You can skip 2. It's a filler sequel that was written to drain the pockets of the more gullible members of the show's rabid fujoshi fanbase before the movie came out that unfortunately seemed to do the trick judging by the Blu-ray sales.

Neither the original writers (Both Urobuchi and Fukami) nor Production IG had any involvement whatsoever. And since it was written after Urobuchi and Fukami had already finished writing the movie, the events of the series have no effect on the movie.

Plus it sucked major dicks. In fact, that's the main reason why it's not worth watching.

While I do get where everyone's coming from, I'd say still give the second season a shot, if only to see more of Akane.
5 main aspects I base my ratings on:
1. Did DramaEnthusiast make a thread about it?
2. Is it better than Breaking Bad?
3. Did MellowJello recommend the shit out of it?
4. Has it caused a (very entertaining) shitstorm on MAL?
5. Is it actually good?

Scratch the fifth point, it's not very relevant...

Well admittedly it was pretty fucking hilarious watching the series stoop to the same level as shitty ultraviolent violent OVAs from early 90s (Or, for a more recent example, a tryhard ultraviolent horror anime like Mirai Nikki and Elfen Lied).

I wasn't the biggest fan of the series but even I will admit that Psycho Pass is way above that stuff.

Psycho Pass movie sets year(s) after season 2. Like other users said PP season 2 is quite disappointing and i myself feel that way too, but there is nothing wrong if you wanna give it a shot, perhaps you will enjoy that while others can't or at least season 2 will introduce you to some characters which are obviously going to appear at the movie.

Watch PP2 just for laughs, then the movie. The first half of the latter is actually pretty good, the second...not so much.

I think everyone is peeve that Kougami doesn't make an appearance in PP2, but he does in the movie. For sure, PP2 had a weaker story than PP1, but it wasn't that awful. The movie was good at the beginning, but half way through, it was really disappointing.

No - people hate PP2 because it systematically deconstructs everything which was GOOD about Psycho-Pass. The characters are crap, Sybil is reduced to nothing more than generic evil villain and is also fucking stupid in 2, I couldn't care less about Kougami as I find Akane a far more enjoyable character so yeah.

I liked the movie because it at least felt like Sybil were doing things by the end, they were keeping an eye on things and it wasn't adverse to taking new information into account. Again, Kougami was okay in the movie but I never cared much for him as a character so he was never the draw for me.

I personally loved the movie.

It could work as a stand alone film if you know who Makishima is. Fight scenes that are pleasurable to watch, Great characters' chemistry.

Haven't watch the movie yet, but Season 2 was pretty lackluster. Not "SAO" bad or anything, but still very mediocre. I kinda regret watching all of it.

So skipping Psycho-Pass 2 and going straight for the movie is probably your best bet.

the movie is actually a sequel to season 1 none of what happens in season 2 metter in the movie and even some character like mika make no sense
but i would advise not to watch the movie since it focuses almost only in the action the plot makes no sense the characters are not fleshed out or developed and the movie still brings no clousure to the series

It's a good movie, but ultimately doesn't change anything or affect the overall story line.

This, I didn't even know that there was a movie, when I finished s 2, So watched it pretty recently, it's rather good, a lot better in comparison with s 2.

Doesn't really matter too much. Watch it after s2 if you must. It'll leave a less bitter after taste.

Perhaps ending it that way is for the best since I highly doubt there wont be another PP movie or new series in the future on that ending it feels like a new beginning more than a closure for sure.

The movie sold great in Japan I cant see them letting go of this franchise soon.

Just give it the same treatment as Tsuki and we're good.

I don't understand what everyone's pet peeve with s2 is - even though it's not quite as good as s1, I enjoyed it immensely. But then, I didn't go into watching it with any specific expectations nor was I seeking more of Kougami/Tsunemori or Makishima (Kamui was so much more interesting and I loved how he wasn't the same type of stereotypical sexy insane villain).

I think that if you watch season 2 before the film, the (non-)relationship between Kougami and Tsunemori in the film will make more sense and feel more natural. It will also help you catch all the nuances of the exchanges between the characters throughout the film. I'm not sure I would have gotten the goosebumps I did from the final scene had I not watched season 2... too much would have been lacking.

I guess it depends on how 'rigid' you are as a viewer and how well you can handle when things don't go "your way".
