THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- The life of a shopaholic is rough. I loved it, a really trippy short. The techniques were fantastic, and the inspiration taken from Indian/Japanese culture meshed into a really nice package! 7/10 |

How in the world was this inspired by "Alice in Wonderland"? |

StevenHu said: How in the world was this inspired by "Alice in Wonderland"? She was in the wonderland when she wore the latest fashion. But with it came the burden - she had to search for even more fashion. In the end she was engulfed by lipstick butterflies. I'd assume the 'wonderland' part of the story is inspired by Alice in Wonderland. |

After the first short by this guy I watched I gave up on ever understanding one of his works. Always has quite interesting art and animation but I never know what's happening. |

Didn't follow and had to read the comments. I enjoy that Sephora produced something that was somewhat anti-fashion (at least that's how I interpreted it? Maybe anti-fashion isn't the correct phrase). I originally was wondering why 14 people would drop a 4-minute animation, but after I started it, I was anxious for it to end. A little too trippy to watch at 0130, that's for sure. It felt like something out of Yume Nikki. I enjoy watching odd shorts sometimes, but this was a little too out there for my taste. I can respect the originality and creativity, though. |

Just rewatched this 4 times and i still confused about what is this movie about. Btw, for some reason, the first scene that appear on the screen remainds me of "The Scream" by Edvard Munch... |

Wow! The visual and audio design was pretty great. There were even some interesting wallpapers in this. The lack of any apparent meaning was what killed it tho. Strong 4 to Light 5/10 |

I really couldn't stand this. No worth at all if you ask me. |

Really cool little experimental short. I like the superflat style that's going on here, in multiple ways. Cool sound design too. I mostly just thought it was a funny and cool short, somewhat ani-fashion as mentioned with its "lost in a maze" feel. It feels somewhat false since it is a commercial though. |

I thought it was a funny trippy short anime. It showed us how beauty can confine us, while at the same time causes us attention all year long. Beautiful short, 5/10. |

WHY the heck is this rated "all ages"?! It's so weird, bizarre, and CREEPY. It was rather interesting though. |

Really good animation, but no meaning behind it(typical dementia/psychodelic stuff in Brownian motion style) 4-5/10 |

Somewhat interesting, I especially liked how colours were used, some very bright colours that still fit together well. The images had their own charm, though it felt like there was weirdness just for the sake of being weird. Which is fine, I guess, but it doesn't leave more than a mild, momentary fascination toward what I'm seeing. |

StevenHu said: there was a spider with the head of the Cheshire Cat at some point & Alice fell through the Rabbit hole in the original story, we saw it here as well when she was in free fall with lots of eyes around her & in the book Alice cried and her tears formed a sea, it happened here as well, and there were even a mouse and dodos as well (though a little weird looking) & she was trapped in a bottle How in the world was this inspired by "Alice in Wonderland"? |

This was hella disturbing for it to be rated G. Either way, I liked the animation overall, and compared to the other two shorts I saw from Tanaami, this was tolerable. |

Wow, so many references to western art! The houses with the arcades and the light tower look like Giorgio De Chirico's works. Also, that spiked eyeball could have been inspired by the International Hygiene Exhibition poster by Franz Stuck. |
