That was pretty interesting, the guy was as greedy as Scrooge was. I didn't really understand the ending though. Was it suppose to represent all the times he pulled out that plant?

I don't really get the ending either. I'm not even sure if there's something to get about it. It made for a cool looking scene, but just by the humorous and ridiculous tone of the whole thing, i'm not inclined to look for anything deeper than that.

6/10. Certainly made for a surreal watch, but there's not much else there. Probably would have been better with some sort of meaning, but I'm not seeing any.

I think that was supposed to show that he was killed by his own greediness which caused the sakura's tree and then the stank.

Poor guy. He died and i didn't get the meaning of the story. I think it had to do with the environment or something

As per usual, I don’t know what to make out of Yamamura Koji’s work. It seems like I can’t find the meaning, not matter how hard I try.

Yeah, it was creative and unusual, but it failed to impress me with an actual “end” like some moral lesson or even an understandable punishment for your sins… Nope. Nothing.

… I have to admit, though, the narrator’s voice cracked me up. Even more when he tried to cover the baby’s parts; it was hilarious.
I think, then procrastinate.
Therefore, I am.

Oh man, this! Roughest sounding baby I've ever heard. Bet he had hair on his chest and everything...

How bizarre...
The stingy man has been living in this little world he created, unable to look beyond his own nose and focused on such little things. Indeed, his death could be seen as divine retribution for his purblindness.

he overused and recycled his resources to the degree that he became a singularity, instead of returning the overspill back to the natural cycle of things (the seeds, which are not waste from the perspective of the ecosystem/society he became divorced from)

well that's just a deep-meaning-off-the-top-of-my-head, i enjoyed it as a silly fantasy in itself

Weird. Simply weird.

I'm not quite sure what the moral of the story is. Perhaps, treat your environment with care? Or don't be too greedy and savour everything? I guess it started because he ate the cherry seeds out of greed.

Anyway, I give this a score of 7. It was entertaining, but I didn't really get much out of it. No rewatch value from me. I might show it during anime club though.

Agreed. It reminded me of Inferno Cop's female voices. LOL

What I got out of it: People are people and won't leave you alone no matter how much you want them to. A person immersed in greed will only attract people who are the same, but won't be able to find the best in the situation. He killed himself from the inside out, unable to distance himself from the box that he'd created for himself.

Not sure what I watched, but I don't really need to get it.
moving on.

That infinite Matryoshka, inception sequence at the end sure highlighted the bizarreness of this anime.

Obsession and insanity.
And still, Bill will live on.
He will befriend the next inhabitants of the earth, beings of light who revere him as a god.
And Bill will outlive them all... for millions and millions of years...exploring, learning, living,
until the earth is swallowed beneath his feet.
Until the sun is long since gone.
Until time loses all meaning and the moment comes that he knows only the positions of the stars
and sees them whether his eyes are closed or open.
Until he forgets his name and the place where he'd once come from.
He lives and he lives until all of the lights go out.

It was not a moralistic story. Some stories are simply neutral.

Oh man! He died, I really feel bad because I really liked the stingy bastard.

That party under his tree was really hilarious, I also liked the narrative and the art.

7/10.

This was a great dark-comedy! It's as fun and as disturbing as Kafka's Country Doctor (Directed by Mr. Koji Yamamura himself).
It’s time to ditch the text file.
