Will? Who knows, manga isn't even online. It's 90% slice of life, don't see it happening.

It's a 4koma on top of that, yet it managed to be a very well paced and great series - I don't see why it couldn't get another season given how much material there is and it doing plenty well.

The only thing is that this feels like a one season show to me and has since the start. I'd love another season but sometimes things should come to a close, and while more would be great maybe it's better it stops here than goes on and ends up turning shit. It was already bad enough when they introduced the blonde, I'd rather avoid more clearly forced "I need to include a generic annoying completely unlikeable slut in my manga too" bullshit like her.

But really there's no way to know if there will be a season 2. Is there a chance? Completely. There's plenty of material and it's a slice of life 4koma adaptation anyway - they could easily make shit up and it'd fit in just fine if they had to. The show is popular, the show is really good and fun.

It's completely possible it'll get more, I think it just depends now on if they want to pursue that idea or not, rather than anything we can find from looking at data or the source material.

Yes, and it became one of the worst slice of life comedies there is when that happened - which is why I feel maybe it's best Mikakunin stays completed if continuing could end up that way. There are much better examples of continued series of this style that kept up the great quality (or even got better) by the way.

I got the 1st volume and they basically adapted 3 episodes (yes 3 full episodes) from the 1st volume with minimal fillers and with all the jokes intact.

There are only 5 volumes out though at the moment so there might be insufficient material for a 2nd season. BUT I NEED ONE SOON!!

Checking that depressing BD/DVD thread... 5.5k with possible drop to 4k. So sales look decent, now if there is enough material it should be good.

Wait... what?
Minami-Ke being worst series is rather strange thing to say - okay second and third season was weird (I did like it thou) but it was case of studio change than material. It came back to it's former glory in most recent one.

So I wouldn't mind more of it but it should have same studio/staff to make it work.

They wrapped it up pretty nicely so there's not much room for continuation. It was a perfect fit for 12 episodes, another 12 or second season would just tire this formula and make it boring and much less enjoyable. Series based on 4-koma are better off short. Just look at Working or Minami-ke. At first they were all nice but sequels became dull and hard to watch.

I'd say there's a chance, as "Working!!" had a second season and it's both 4-koma adapted and Slice of Life. That being said, I not sure it's a good chance. I'd love to see one though.

I agree, to some extent. I feel the show ended on a great note, still I would really love another season.

Wouldn't be the first time a relatively low-selling show adapted from a 4-koma gets a sequel, so it's definitely possible.

I'm not quire sure how the story should go from here, though. While Kobeni hasn't really outright said she's in love with Hakuya, she left enough hints that she's perfectly fine with him being her finacé. Plus, the fact that she went after them when they went away is also a big hint she's gotten used to having them around the house.

Still, it was a charming series, and definitely one of the top three of this season, so if there is room for more, I'd welcome it.

With the standards nowadays Mikakunin probably has a good chance of a "sequel"......... AKA more OVAs. That seems to be what all the anime studios love going for recently.

Those discussion further seasons of stuff like Minimi-ke, do take into account that adaptations' quality and pacing is totally up to the creators of said adaptation, when it comes to a 4-koma. If a 2nd season (doubt it would happen, but I would be glad) for this one happens and it is managed with the same quality and pacing, it has a pretty good chance of being great.

You can't say that it would be bad being and be completely sure of it. There are series of the same nature that kept things top notch, as mentioned by comments above.

I'd like a second season with Kobeni and Hakuya already married and not getting cockblocked by Benio every 5 minutes...

And also more Mashiro is never a bad thing.

If there is a second season, I'm not sure what they could really do that would be compelling.

Will Kobani turn into a hybrid human/dog mix?
Will Oono find something really juicy on Mitsumine family that they might have to leave?
Will Benio sabotage their relationship in spite?

Can you make a second season with that? Maybe but I don't know if it'll be as good as the first season. Without just a bunch of entertaining filler.

I would really like a second season, because without Kobeni remembering completely her childhood with Hakuya, the ending doesn't feel happy enough, for me at least. But I don't think they will do a sequel, not matter how nice it would be :(

Haven't watched it myself, but it'd make sense for the quality to go down since they did have a change of staff for the sequel of Minami-Ke. I just hope they keep the same people for Mikakunin's 2nd season if it does happen. Most producers usually do that for sequels too, Minami-Ke is just one of those exceptions.

I wouldn't mind a second season if it was at least very close to how good the first season was.
However, with that in mind, I think Mikakunin's ending was solid and the show doesn't need to continue to have ended on a high note. I really enjoyed Mikakunin, and while I'd like to see more of it, I'm also wary of the potential for quality drop in a sequel.

I really hope there is one. From what I read on crunchyroll, this anime seems to be selling well so there's a higher chance due to this.

Also, there's a few hole's that need to be filled like

more development on the Mitsumine family and where they come from
more development on Hakuya and kobeni's relationship
their transformation and true extent of their power
and more Mashiro and brooms (i'll stop here before i start spoiling).

i'm still fairly new to anime so dont really know how this completely works, but here's hoping!

The sales were beyond amazing. Season 2 is a definite possibility. It all depends on what projects TOHO has planned out.

On that note, it goes to show how much shit MALs ranking system is. Good shows that actually sell, make a profit and will get sequels are underrated and ranked low, while complete shit animes that never came close to breaking the line are ranked in the top 100. And then people on MAL get offended when other anime sites look down on them.

Well yeah.. from how good it is the sequel might not live up to the expectations.
But considering how so much more can be done.. they haven't gone on a proper date, hold hands etc.
They focus a lot on comedy which I loved it.. maybe more on developments if a sequel is to be done.
A lot more could make a season 2 a success.. really hope to see it happen.

This anime might be one of my favorites of all time. So often romantic comedies turn tragic or hurtful to one or more character. This one is just nice and happy, I sighed so often because of the extreme cuteness but it didn't seem overdone. I also laughed a lot. Anyways I thought the ending was great but left things open and would LOVE a 2nd season. Far too many anime I don't like get 52+ eps and while I don't think its possible for this one to get that many I don't think a total of 24-26 is too much to ask. Do the right thing anime gods, GIVE US MORE.

I just watch this show (mid-2020) and I’m greatly saddened to see it’s only 12 episodes. Was it not popular enough to get a season 2? No more source material? It might not be the greatest show but it’s good enough to warrant a season 2.
