THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Well, what did you think? I must say that the title sure lived up to it's name, wish I could jump like that. Pretty nice scenery too! :D |

I used to dream about jumping like this when I was little. This short took it even further than what I had imagined and jumped to other countries and more! Loved this. 8/10 |

I jump like this in my lucid dreams. I dare say "Jumping" was probably inspired by dreams. |

This was so much more interesting than I thought it'd be. My eyes were glued to the screen, waiting to see where he landed. I was kinda creeped out towards the end, but it got better. Not bad. |

Interesting experience. Trippy animation, especially back in the days. I feel a bit dizzy after this. |

Not much to it. It's exactly what the title implies, some kid jumping. The only problem is that the animation has trouble conveying the natural motion and momentum of a jump, mainly during the portions where he lands, leading to a nauseating six minutes. |

That was very interesting, I liked the concept and the first person view. Would like to see what else could be done with it. Seeing it with nowadays art and animation would be great. |

Maybe it was his imagination that leaps. Wait, was guy trying to kill himself in the train tracks and was that lady naked in the balcony?? It was okay but was short, 6/10. |

Hooooly shit the entire thing is shot in first person. This must have been a lot of work for the artists and animators to draw all of that. The fun thing about the jumping is you never know what to expect when he lands. So seeing the lady on the balcony was lol. It was fun. |

I guess I respect it as art, but in all honesty it felt like something the general public wasn't supposed to see and the only reason it got a wide release is because of who made it. Also it gave me motion sickness. Also I think the only reason it gets such high praise is because who made this as well, if this was made by almost anyone else this would be in the 4 range and there would be a ton of complaints about it being too artsy like any other animated art piece on here. |

This was great. I wasn't expecting much but this was quite suspenseful. I'd like to see how this would have turned out if it was made today. |

Interesting approach, I can only remember 1 other anime that does everything in 1 cut - Cannon Fodder by Katsuhiro Otomo. Well-done, Tezuka. |

it comes across to me as more of tech demo of what is possible in animation, and in that respect it's pretty cool! |

The video above is not the whole work, even though MAL also lists this to be 3 minutes long. It continues towards the sea and beyond for a total of 6 minutes. This is the longer version: |
