| Where to start with this fantastic episode... Tashigi adopting the philosophy of discerning the enemies without proof with your own eyes is a bit questionable. It's not like the baroque works guys being around will cause the cannon to go off. But, I suppose they could do something to make it worse so she wants to be safe. That being said, it was an ends justify the means view and unless they're perfect they could cut down some actual innocents. I wonder what the point of that scene was. She did have an introspection on how the 'justice' the navy speaks about can't do anything but bring false hopes from Crocodile and Nico Robbin absolutely disrespecting her justice like it was nothing, so maybe that's why she's taking this action first ideology later method. The Luffy and Crocodile fight continued was pretty good however brief it was. Luffy's speech about how Crocodile doesn't get the value in fighting for others was cool. "We don't want her to die! That's how friends are! We don't give up as long as she's fighting for the country. If we die, we die." It's like no matter how many times I hear a similar speech from Luffy I'll always adore them, get hyped up, and love Luffy so much more. Next episode should finally be a longer take on their fight. And.. the entire clock tower segment. It was such a comedic way to get to the top and send Vivi to stop the cannon that I would not have expected to bawl in the next few minutes. Vivi had one of her most kick ass moments launching the throwaway agents out of the clock tower, but it was all for naught. You could see how crushed she was before Pell arrived. And when did he did I could taste the self sacrifice in his body language and words to her. Jeez. I literally thought minutes before this that I love Pell as little as he's been in One Piece. To end the episode like that is heart breaking, and some people say no one in One Piece dies. I truly thought to myself as Pell exploded and I weeped like a baby, that I truly finally hate Crocodiles guts. Perfect scene that will leave an impact for a long time to come, and by far one of my favorite One Piece scenes. |

| Tashigi throwing the moral high ground card away and becoming ruthless against the enemy so she can prove that she's worthy of upholding justice was epic. Vivi's efforts were almost done in vain but Pell made sure that everyone's hard work would be rewarded even at the cost of his own life. What's amazing about One Piece for me is how it masterfully makes me emotional whenever moments like these happens. I teared up... |

| Bruh wtf is that jumping on top of each other shit? This arc was going so well but Oda just had to make it all so inconsistent and plot armour-ish in during the end. I can't even take some things seriously now due to the absurd amount of goofy shit that keeps happening and the horrendous comedic shit they do while in a legit serious situation. How tf is that sacred memorial building crumbling down so slowly? It has been crumbling for the past 8 minutes or so, ever since they have been figuring out where the canon is. I like Tashigi's new and bold self. Still, I don't understand how tf she is walking and attacking so casually. She just had her leg broken from the knee by force. Hated the cliche last-second bomb diffusion. The time bomb was a surprise and the Pell & kid Vivi moments were pretty wholesome. I swear to god if he doesn't die and all of it was just a fake-out like Igaram, then it'll be one of the shittiest things about this arc. |

| Though I hardly got to see him I did genuinely feel sad about Pell dying in this episode,the flashbacks really helped set the mood for the very last scene here. It's the power of Oda’s writing, you think wouldn't you care so much for a character that's hardly in the Alabasta arc but no, Oda does this in a way that's spectacular in many ways. Pell’s sacrifice shall not be in vain. Gone but forgotten. Luffy’s fight with Crocodile continues to be intense, really loved the speech that Luffy gives to him was just epic to say the least. Tagashi adopting her own ideology on justice, thanks to her recent encounters with Crocodile and Nico Robin. On the whole it was a rollercoaster of an episode. A lot of different mood swings in tone in a good way and ultimately heartbreaking at the end. |
