Loved the grandfather character. Him and Alya's mother almost tied the knot for them right there. And Masachika's date with Alya was very cute, very natural. Those two have an excellent down to earth chemistry together.

The appearance of the mother was weird as pheck though. Mothers don't look at their children in disgust like that unless the latter has commited a heinous crime or there's some kind of mental illness involved. They better come with a believable back story to justify such brazen antagonism to one's own child.

Unfortunately for him he seems to still be married though 😅

For me, the best episode of the season so far. Kept me hooked throughout and had some Kaguya-sama vibes at times.

Kuze and Alya's outing was great, they are magnetic when they get longer bouts of screen-time together. A bit of sugar from Masha, a bit of gag humor with Yuki, and the grandfather showing up dressed up like Al Capone leading into what looks like some backstory for Kuze at the end...

Oh, and can't forget Alya and Masha's mother, she seems like she'll be fun to watch. 😏

@Farabeuf To be honest, it didn't look like she was looking at him in disgust. It seemed more like she was looking away from him in guilt or shame. Like she can't bring herself to maintain eye contact or even look at him. She also looks absolutely exhausted and beaten down, with those pronounced bags under her eyes both in the present and the flashback. Either way, there's obviously some trauma and maladjustment going on in the relationship (or lack thereof) between her and her son.

This might be my favorite episode so far. Alya and Kuze's date was so cute. And Alya catching him flustered and going in for the kill was great. She's so charming when she gets some confidence rolling.

Loved the introduction of Masachika's grandpa. Dapper is right. He's definitely a character and I can see how he's had such a huge influence on Masachika.

I also enjoyed the "meeting of the families" so to speak. Mama Kujou seemed to let slip that Alya gushes about Kuze at home. I want to know what she says about him as much as I'm sure he does. Lol It was hilarious that the mom and grandpa were already trying to marry them off.

Also looking forward to seeing what, if any, developments arise from Masachika running into his mom. It seems she can't bring herself to even look at him, let alone make eye contact.

A bit more of a chill episode this time, the whole date between Alya and Kuze was very laidback besides near the end when Alya was being more aggressive with her advances on Kuze, the man was just taking it too which honestly I respect lol. And the bit in the student council with Suou was a short but cute one, something about Suou laying on the table and asking to be spoiled is a bit sus but Kuze made it goofy real fast, not that Suou wasn’t doing that already lol. And the short bit with Masha was especially cute, it’s nice of Kuze to apologize for the hypnosis situation even if it wasn’t really on him, but I’m glad that turned into such an adorable moment for Masha, definitely an amazing anime girl pout, she’s making it hard to not declare her best girl lol, but I’m still not certain on that.

Now the end of this episode was where things got a bit interesting with the introduction of another grandpa of Kuze’s, this one is a lot more wholesome and fun, I love the drip honestly lol, and apparently he’s really into Russia which gave us quite the interaction between him and Alya, that’s one family member Kuze won’t have to convince later on when he marries Alya lol. We also met mama Kujou here, it was a brief moment but she’s definitely a MILF, hope to see more of her in the future. Things didn’t stay fun for long tho when Kuze ran into his mom, next episode will probably have an interesting start. And this week’s ED was another great one, not as great as the previous one imo but definitely a jam like always.

Alya W this episode. She has gotten over the indirect kiss and can even expressed some feelings not in russian. This episode Alya wins for sure. Masha also got a cute pout moment.

Yuki after a while finally gets spoiled again by Kuze.

We also get Alya and Masha's mom and also Kuze's grandpa who likes Russian women it seems. Alya's mom also didn't seem to object Alya marrying Kuze and Alya didn't deny it. Kuze also meets his mom again. Also man I gotta say she looks tired as fuck. She be looking like those MAPPA animators.

I think my favorite character this episode was probably Kuze's grandpa dressed like he's in the mafia. 10/10 drip.

Also can someone tell me what did they dip the meat in?

I really liked the date scene. It was just nice. Seeing Alya actually take charge and not act like a fumbling child for once was refreshing.

Grandpa has just became a top 5 character for me though, maybe even top 3. I loved everything about him. Maybe he's where Kuze and Yuki got their love for media from? Either way I really hope we get to see more of him.

Oh, and the ending was pretty depressing too. I feel as bad for Kuze's mom as I do Kuze. I wonder if that whole side of the story gets explored more in the manga?
@Master_Chef The manga is yet to come this far. And yes, it does get explored - in fact, it's the premise of the story.

@Sheol01 Of course, it's not. Instead of a 2-cour, this is a much better approach. Has unfortunately become a rarity in today's day and age. A studio dedicated to do justice to the source material would see to it that it gets the best possible adaptation, even if they have to break the perimeter of your usual 12 or 13 episodes.

Alya definitely had the upper hand with Kuze, playfully flirting with him during his belated birthday celebration. Now it’s clear where Alya and Masha get their charm, who would have thought their mother would be so lively and fun? She even casually hinted at not minding if Kuze and Alya ended up getting married, which was surprising.

For a moment, I was really hoping Alya would drop a phrase in Russian in front of Masachika's paternal grandfather such a missed opportunity! As for the tension between Kuze and his mother, I suspect it stems from the influence and power his maternal grandfather holds. That likely plays a big role in their complicated relationship.

Alya going on the offensive during their date was fun to watch and we got another one of Yuki's antics again in this episode. I though for sure that Masachika was close with his mom but it seems unlikely from that short glimpse of their flashback, at least grandad is approve with Alya and so is Alya's mom

@habib_kun The LN is so good. And even that is an understatement.

Given the LN's popularity and success in Japan, the eventuality of it being renewed for a sequel is almost guaranteed. If anything, it would be a sheer fact of stupefaction in the event that it is otherwise.

I personally believe the next season is forthcoming, and if so, it should adapt until V6.

Got a nice date with Masachika and Alya and a pouty Masha this episode lol. We even got to see an interesting interaction with Masachika's grandpa lmao, and seen Alya's momma too sheesh. And then we ended on a lil awkward note. Maybe it'll continue from here next week.

Sometimes I like to imagine how it would be cool if this anime does the Aobuta ED cover, but idk if that's even possible lol.

Never ending plan to watch list...

Alya and Masachika's date was really sweet, thoroughly enjoyed watching Alya being more on the aggressive and teasing side start to finish. Seeing her also start to flirt a bit more openly in japanese instead of Russian i feel like speaks a lot towards their development which was nice.

Lmao I also loved the pouting Masha we got, she's got her moments but honestly i wouldn't mind seeing a bit more of her.

Yuki always knowing the best way to spend her time when in the spotlight is always a treat lol, watching her fast tonal shift when she knows she's alone with Masachika is peak.

Masachika Grandfather's entrance was funny. dude made one hell of an entrance for the viewers and Alya's family. Cliff-hanger ending looked interesting, I'm always down to watch more backstory around Masachika and his family.

Huh I didn't really think about it before on Japanese not really doing anything for their birthdays since it seems still to matter that their birthdays are known.

Alya looked cite in her outfit for the date.

Yuki is pretty expressive lol

Masha has a cute pouty face

The girl's mom is pretty

btw without giving spoilers how is the drama written? (about Masachika's family or the election)

It is a parody of the Shoujo genre. Don't expect any romance, just watch for the comedy. It is even funnier than "Love is War". You'll love all the characters. Main girl (Sakura Chiyo) is too cute. Also there is a guy called Mikoshiba who is the best character. Just do yourself a favor and watch it.

Alya thought Masachika held a party for his birthday, but he did not make that parties since elementary school. She was so jealous, but Masachika will make it up for her with another occasion. I do not know why they can’t accept their feelings, it’s completely clear that they love each other, so Masachika should make the first step. I wonder what Alya’s reaction would be if she find out that Kuze actually knows Russian😂

What kind of relationship do Akemi Kujou and Kuze’s grandpa have? They seemed to know each other.

I like the new opening, even though it’s an old song. It’s amazing that with every episode, the ED theme is changed. This anime has a high popularity this season thanks to Yuki mostly=)

I gave this episode 5/5 for Masha, she is so cute, for me she is the goddess of this series.
She scolded Masachika so cutely, i want her to scold me too...

Alya's date with Masachika was interesting, Alya is a cutie in a dress and i hope im not the only one who noticed that she has changed since the beginning of the series? She behaved very confidently on the date, although in the first episodes she was more insecure and shy. Maybe her success in the elections influenced her or she became closer to Masachika and feels more confident around him.

And that end with milfs... Alya's mother is of course sexy with her "ARA-ARA". But she is quite... ordinary. An ordinary sexy ARA-ARA housewife milf, nothing special lol

But you know, i'll be honest with you. For some reason, i really like Yuki's mother with her depressed tired look. Maybe i unlocked a new fetish but i like her, i hope her past will be revealed soon.

That's a proper date now! Alya didn't even use Russian when calling Kuze cute and did the indirect kiss without hesitation.
His paternal grandpa and Alya's mother more than agree to marry them. Better make a family tree than a family wreath.

His mother with the home Yuki lives with doesn't seem to be doing well with her rich life...
