What a massacre Falin caused while transformed into a Chimera. She keeps getting better and better.

I feel sorry for Marcille; she must be feeling awful, maybe even guilty about how Falin turned out, especially after what Shuro said. He's a jerk. He treats Laios terribly and criticizes him for doing everything he could and everything in his power to save Falin. Meanwhile, Shuro was comfortably being served by his entourage, supposedly looking for Falin but without any results. The only reason he cares about Falin is because he likes her. Although his fight with Laios was fun.

Kabru surprised me; I initially thought poorly of him, but I don't think he's trying to take advantage of Laios in a bad way.

This episode was just constantly switching from deadly serious to comedic. One second bodies are going splat on the ground and next second they’re reacting to Falin's dragon tits.

Wow this episode went from 0-100 really quickly. Honestly right from the get go. We had Shuro who was still very viably angry about the black magic that was used to revive Falin and then before they could talk anymore the harpies attacked and as soon as everyone else got out there the Falin who had been revived with parts of the Red Dragon 🐉 was what we assumed under the control of the mad mage 🧙 killed off most of the people before she scampered off for whatever reason. It didn’t look like she was seriously injured so Shuro and the rest of his group and others headed back to the top while Laios and crew trekked onwards into the dungeon to confront and kill the mad mage. Wondering where this season will end off at 😅

Everybody fallin' from Falin's talons.

I still am wondering exactly what caused so called black magic from being viewed so negatively.

The subs we want start with "Really, though.". "Wow, how shameful" are dub subs.

"It's so cool!" Never change Laios.
Amazing fight. Fun how with resurrection magic existing, you can kill characters left and right like that. Also Falin was hot when she descended at 6:51

20:37 What Laios said here: "Since slitting her throat didn't interfere with her ability to breathe, she may even have another air intake. She didn't even flinch when her throat was slit. It wasn't leathal, but it made her lose control of her body and..."

One of the best episodes so far, loved it. I hope we see Shuro again at the very end and he properly confesses to Falin.
@Embient damn i got back into anime not long ago and noticed in some of the anime i watched, some subs were just dub script in subs, it ticked me because it clearly wasn't close to what they were saying (for what i could catch) in the japanese audio, even in an adapted way

thanks for letting me know i also need to be careful on this show, and for the way to call it, "dub subs"

also amazing episode

“Read as little as possible of critical or aesthetic works. They are either products of a close-minded spirit, petrified and devoid of meaning in their lifeless hardening, or clever verbal games [...]. Works of art are of an infinite solitude; nothing is worse than criticism for approaching them. Only love can grasp them, keep them, be just toward them. Always give precedence to your own feeling against these analyses, these reviews, these introductions. [...] You must let every impression, every seed of feeling, ripen within you, in the dark, in the inexpressible, in the unconscious, those regions closed to understanding. Bence partiyi terk edip gidenlerin bir yere kadar haklılık payları olabilir ama zerre konuşmaya hakları yok. Madem çok düşünüyordunuz Falin'i ne diye hainlik yapıp terk ettiniz. Şimdi de gelmiş boş boş konuşup saçmalıyor hepsi hiç inandırıcı değil.Laios keyfine yapmadı herhalde ama sizin gibi de kaçmadı en azından tüm imkânları zorladı.

I think those who left the party may have a point, but they have no right to say anything. If you were thinking so much, why did you betray Falin and abandon her? Now he is talking nonsense and nonsense, all of it is not convincing at all. Laios probably didn't do it because he liked it, he had to, but he didn't run away like you, at least he pushed all the possibilities.

I'm finally caught up to Dungeon Meshi and boy did I pick an episode to catch up at.

There's something about this show's almost casual depiction of ultra-violence that should come off as edgy but doesn't because it's just so matter-of-fact. It's just as natural as the rest of the dungeon ecosystem. This is all just part of the dungeon's circle of life, in a way. The adventurers kill the monsters or the monsters kill the adventurers. But then, you toss in a twist like merging an adventurer with a monster, and you get super compelling drama. It was impossible to root for anybody in that fight and I have no idea how we resolve this situation unless we can somehow assassinate or talk-no-jutsu the wizard in control of the dungeon.

Waiting weekly is going to be a pain, but I'm relieved I finally hopped on the train. Bingeing the show this past week has been such a treat.

A lot of interesting perspective shots and "camera work" this episode - very well story boarded.

I remember back in episode 3 when people (not just on MAL) were surprised by the gore. I like how violence in Meshi happens rather casually without feeling edgy. Just the right amount of shocking and real, so it isn't gratuitous.

Damn what an episode. 🔥

Sheesh wtf happened to Falin-san. I hope she'll get back to normal again. 🙃 Seriously Bro Laios-kun called her form "cool". 😂

And many died this episode it was really gory. But ressurected after. 🙂

But seriously Falin-san had enough of what happened to her. Eaten by a dragon and died ofc, resurrected with dragon's flesh and blood, transformed into chimera like creature by the lunatic magician, killing people unconciously... She had enough. 🥲

And studio Trigger is amazing as always. The smooth and detailed movements.

Arigato for all the staffs. ❤️🔥

The tension during this episode was pretty high, but I'm impressed that even here, the few moments of comedy still remained pretty funny and never once felt like it was ruin the mood of what this episode had to offer.

The harpies having their tits out fully uncensored was completely unexpected, although I burst out laughing at Marcille's reaction when Falin was ripping off her shirt to reveal her own cleavage. Shuro simply stood there blushing hard. XD

In the end, sometimes your fists does better talking than your own mouth, which is what Laios and Shuro ended up doing, knocking seven bells out of each other before Laios clinched his win. He was also able to finally get Shuro to eat some food, along with everyone else, including those who were revived after getting killed earlier during the Falin battle.

And with that, Shuro and Kabru's group all head back to the surface, leaving our familiar group of four once more. Their chances of rescuing Falin still looks low, but I still hope they can succeed at it.

I was a little surprised that no one besides the main group stayed behind especially after finding out that Shuro likes Falin. While Falin does seem to mostly be controlled by the mad mage it looked like she had brief moments of being self aware which I think is probably why she ran off before attacking her brother.

I like the idea of the group going after the mad mage but I think that will be very challenging so maybe they'll get some help such as from the orcs.

He still tries to do that. The main reason that Kabru ate what Laios gave him and didn't kill Laios was because he wanted to be on Laios's good side if he ever needed him in the future.

Shuro isn't in a good mood right now he doesn't act like himself because he is exhausted and comes to his limit after everything that happened to him. After he rested a little he did say that he would help Laios's group if something bad happened to them after it was all over.

If you're in an environment, the one within the realm of the dungeon, where you basically know for a fact that someone can be revived because that's how it works in the dungeon, their body is still present right there in the same room (so not like Falin initially swallowed by the Red Dragon and then Laios and co. separated from her), and you have trained healers freely available and standing by, then I imagine they see no reason to freak out over it and it's just viewed as like sustaining an injury.

Because in reality, death is viewed and treated as as serious and somberly at it is because of its consequences. You change the consequences, you change the whole meaning of death and how people react to it.

I would also like to say that the thread about Toshiro not really liking Laios is strong, as if "You were always annoying to me but I tolerated it because I wanted to fuck your sister" xD I'm sure it's a real-life situation, e.g. your best friend says he was with you because he felt sorry for you or something else... I don't want to imagine that pain.

Additionally, Toshiro loves Falin but he does not know that she is very similar to his brother, in fact he only loved the idealized image in his head.

He seriously is the most toxic character in this anime xD

I'm surprised how easily those two parties just left the dungeon. Shuro's goal was to find Falin. He didn't sleep, didn't eat, and right after he finally found her, he just leaves the dungeon, despite Marcille mentioning there's a chance to rescue her. Instead, he decides to report Laios's party for using black magic, thereby dooming Falin to death even if she gets out of the dungeon.
On the other hand, we have Kabru, who intended (at least from my understanding after listening to his inner thoughts) to prevent them from killing the magician first, or even kill them. He looked pretty serious thinking about that. And after finally catching up with Laios's party, he also decides to leave the dungeon. Well, that reasoning is quite something, I must say.

It'all turnout alright in the end or is it?

Falin assault on the team and attacking everyone not in my bingo card. I changed my mind about Kabru he's more nice and a good calculative leader, not like our precious Laios which more reckless. Falin is S level danger and she even can use her magic.

Let's defeat the lunatic magician elves and run away to east if something goes wrong. Hope Kabru and Shuro didn't rat out the black magic matter to anyone especially the lord of island and elves of the west. Marcille is not as cheerful after everyone put blame on her and Laios.

that was a fucking great episode

this show started off interesting, kind of lulled, oscillated around average/above average for awhile, and then has just started building on itself with each episode lately. the thing is, what made this episode great, it's going to carry over into the following episode. ALL of the other characters from the other 2 parties are now gone... i don't know how that's going to go, or if i'm going to like where it goes lol

but right now, this is fun

This was probably the most tense episode to date...and with the most (temporary) death scenes at one time between two parties at 7 dead. Senshi not only survived, but didn't even drop the tray of food in the battle which had a bowl of soup--sasuga Senshi.

I'm surprised they kept the nipples in for the harpies. It's a very important detail faithful to the source material.

I'm glad Laios and Shuro got into a fistfight, although it started getting a little dirty with the hair-pulling...sometimes boys just need to get it out of their system to become bros again, as guys usually aren't the best at communicating with words.

Shuro saying he'll never step foot on the island again after returning to his homeland is a little depressing. I hope plans change with him and his party making more future appearances. Maybe one-half of the twin bell that Shuro gave Laios will play a big part in that.

Kabru getting flashbacks of 'nam from the thought of eating monsters, lol. He still annoys me with how he tries to for lack of a better term, manipulate people, where he pretends to be interested in monster food after being offered it, even considering briefly murdering Laios for a second.

Speaking of which, Kabru is the 2nd person (or 3rd if we count Shuro as well) to mull over the idea of what would happen after the possibility of Laios defeating the mad sorcerer, the first being the Orc chief. If anyone deserves to become King of the kingdom/Dungeon Lord, it's Laios...especially now that his party committed the taboo of black magic, he'll need some way to get around that together with Marcille who actually casted the black magic spell.

"Asebi" is still missing. I hope she comes back soon.

After listening to the 2nd cour ED, it's been really growing on me. I now think it suits the series more than the 1st one, as the smooth transition fits regardless of whether or not an episode ends on a somber note, or a happy one. Next week...no preview yet.

If that's supposed to be the resolution of the story, I actually wonder what would be the best to do to replace the mad sorcerer, assuming the one doing the final blow takes over.

Laios is an enthusiast of monsters and might just keep to himself and enjoy the dungeon.

Marcille might just be interested in studying the magic behind all of it.

Falin was always a bit weird, and it's doubtful whether killing the sorcerer would return her fully to human, so might be the "right" sacrifice

Shenshi is very respectful towards the dungeon resources and lifecycle, and doesn't seem to have much attachment to the surface world anyway

Also, the elves seemed very interested in taking over (in a kinda shady way), so I guess there's also the question on what else implies being the dungeon master.

@LessThanAnimeFan

I confirmed Shrou's lines in this episode.
Shrou doesn't even think that Raios and the others can defeat the frenzied magician.
She hasn't even forgiven Marcille.
He believes that the knowledge of the Western Elves is necessary in order to free Farin's soul, and that is why he is reporting this incident.
He believes that it is impossible for Farin to return to human form, so he decides to notify the island owner and have Farin's soul released.

Also, the Kablu squad died three times in a short period of time.
Due to the accumulation of fatigue and the need to exterminate strong monsters deep down,
Since they are still an inexperienced unit, it appears that they have decided to return to the ground, considering it dangerous.
It is dangerous to act in a large group as it can easily attract monsters.
That's why Laios decided to spread out the number of people.
