| Ren is cute and all, but they could cut her out and it would probably be better imo. The set-up is so LAME. He's cute, mysterious, from a prestigious background, has some trauma/troubled past, and is insanely good at what he's doing. Tf is this, 50 shades of Initial D? GTFO with that shit. The racing is cool though and the Initial D references were a great throwback. Damn, can't wait for the other parts of this story to unfold. |

that is easily the opening of the season, yuu serizawa fuckin killed and i've been listening to jungle fire on spotify this whole week. eurobeat is unmatched and the race was undoubtedly hype. my boi ryosuke!!! we didn't get to see his face but hearing takehito koyasu's voice was all that was needed. kanata got shades of takumi due to being his student and the AE86 flashback hit so hard. i like how the new car also has the 86 number.
noticed the animation style for the cars look more similar to the new initial D legends movies, instead of the actual show.
solid episode, i'm definitely liking this adaptation more than the manga so far and this episode was better than the first for sure. now on to the next racing anime for the day lol, overtake.

A career isn't something you can juggle with an expensive hobbie that takes away most of your time. Any sensible person would rather choose a surgeon to perform surgery on them that has had a decade or more in experience in their expert field than a street runner that returned to the medical field and god knows what's his real experience with people under the scalpel.
Just because the author said hE wAs a MeDiCaL sTuDenT doesn't make it plausible for anyone that has the most basic common sense. That is just plain BAD writing. Fanboys will swallow anything just because the author said so...
| @Kimurah "a career that takes several years of training and expertise" the author has already told us that he was a medical student from a young age so he has years of experience and anyone who's paid attention to the screen knows he's not just any idiot, but someone who actually knows what he's talking about. unlike you at the moment, how ironic. the author has given us a reasonable explanation already, don't blame your lack of basic reading comprehension skills on the author. but don't worry, i don't blame you for your stupidity either, i blame the education system for failures like you. just put two brain cells together for once in your life, and you won't be sweating over this anymore. it's that simple. |

| Now this is what I'm here for, edge of the seat the whole episode. The nostalgia hit hard with the eurobeat, much better than episode 1. |

| So far it has been alright.. feels a little less exciting to me than Initial D was, due to the professional racing environment. Think I just prefer the underground street racing scene more. I think there will be many comparisons to the old anime, but I'm going to just go into this as its own show from here on and hope it surprises me. Still early days. |

| I can't help but smile a lot in this episode. Not only were the namedrops of Ryousuke, working as a surgeon, as well as Takumi Fujiwara himself, get mentioned here, but the eurobeat combining with the driving that Kanata is doing in the GT86 does make for an epic time. =) And, of course, the excellent four-wheel drift that evoked memories of the AE86 which made Fumihiro tear up. Now that's how you end the episode on a high note! We also got to see the OP for the first time and the song for it is great too. It also showed other cars that weren't shown yet, like the Alpine A110 and the BMW M2, so I do look forward to seeing them in action at some point. As for the CGI quality, I feel like it's still a bit too early to sum up the overall quality of it, but on early impressions so far, it's pretty good. There are some shots where the framerate drops too much, but there's far less of that issue compared to Initial D 5th stage, so I'd say that's a good thing. As long as the car models and backgrounds work together in mostly good harmony, with some nice showy angles to make the most of it, then I'll be satisfied. =P |

| Man, I haven't seen much of Initial D but I am still quite familiar with it, this episode was a blast seeing all the references and the MUSIC, oh the music!!! I feel blessed that the team behind MF Ghost is doing a very good job so far! |
