owww the settings, pls right in my veins!!!!!!!!!!!

Poligon Pictures + Nihei is a must watch. And add Sawano on the ost. This will be the dark horse of the season, CG haters go away.

Can't wait to see where the story will go from here.

An interesting premise. I don't think any of the 4 elders are his parents. What happened to the others from their village I wonder.

I could do w/o the obvious romantic entanglement, but I think this might be a good story.

it was good the story will get interesting I'm assuming as I haven't read the manga & I don't want to. the sound effects & musics are great & matches the atmosphere. The CGI same as the other recent titles, needs a lot of improvement, I mean at some points it very noticeable which ruins the experience. though overall its a good start.✨️👌🏽

So Polygon Pictures have learned some tricks with the character design in Pacific Rim: The Black and now this looks more anime than theirs Godzilla and Blame for example.
Great setting, but the story...why do we need yet another hime-sama plot device? Why they should've reference Kaze no Tani no Nausicaä specifically?
Like Liliha could've be a regular girl who wants to save her tribe or something.

Well that was a pretty interesting start and the setting is really unique! So the world is like covered in a tree dome or something, there are people inside below, the place is called the snow sea and people at the top of the dome called the canopy, well, canopy people bout to go extinct. Then we have magic energy giving billboards to people that reads them.

Overall, great worldbuilding and CG is pretty good, at least above average. OP and ED were bangers as well

I am also not fan of the cgi, but rest is looking good.

If you're not a fan of CGI why would you watch something from Polygon to begin with?  It's literally all they do
I like to give chance to any anime, by doing that I explored tons of underrated shows I loved. I just dont enjoy cgi I am not actively hating it. Overall tho I am hopefull about this show it had good start.

Reason to check out this Anime:
Creator of Blame!
Look at the VA's list
Music by Kohta Yamamoto.

This is also my first CGI Anime from Polygon Pictures.
Ngl the CGI was not bad at all, it's fine.

Very interesting premise, people live in the sky?
No more land below, just Ocean of Snow?
Damn what happened in this world?
Human fuck up this world too?

Couple of pros to this, for a start. The setting is very interesting, lots of room for potential growth. BGs looked really good, characters give off a bit of uncanny valley though. At 11 episodes, I'm not sure how far they can take this, but let's see.

Gotta say though, MAL's average rating has gone to even lower depths of shit if stuff like this and Revenger are getting 6.5 - 7 while the most generic isekai shit is sitting at 7.5.

One episode in and I already LOVE this! This world seems really interesting and I can't wait to see where this story goes! This is also my first time watching a 3DCG anime and this honestly doesn't seem that bad so far. Also lol at the fact that this already seems more interesting than some of the other anime airing atm, despite them having less interesting worlds. Really makes you think huh? Definitely going to stick around for this one though! I get the feeling this might be similar to Made In Abyss in a few ways

Promising first episode, this feels inspired by classic western scifi and fantasy, in terms of setting and just the general feel. Can’t wait to see more!

Interesting anime and it looks like it is set in a post-apocalyptic setting (or a place like Antarctica) except Kaina and the elders are living in a tree that's dying with no one else remaining.

The visuals are unique and it appears that Kaina is walking either on ice or some other transparent material but they're way above a snow sea. Meanwhile, a princess and her crew get ambushed and she's the only survivor. Kaina appears to have rescued her as that floater kept going into the upper atmosphere. Curious to see how this show plays out as it's pretty unique compared to other shows airing this season.

The use of CGI be damned....I've always seen this manga advertised on my Facebook, and thought it looked incredibly beautiful, I just watch many more anime than I spend reading manga these days. So of course I was excited to see that this finally received an anime! This was a beautiful opening Episode! There's disgustingness...eating bug eggs from an insect as large as a domesticated Cat, there's mysteriousness...what the Hell caused the World to become like this...and just what kind of pair will Kaina and Ririha become???

I'm hooked!

Another Blame/Ningou no Kuni sort of set up. Also seems to be a take-off on Niven's Integral Trees.

The unbalance ecology in these sorts of anime tends to distract me from the story. (Giant insects in a perpetual arctic environment? What do they eat? Where do they breed?)

I'll watch another episode or two but I have a feeling that it will follow a predictable path.

Art is meh and CG is not unwatchable but not good either, but setting and backgrounds are really interesting. Also am a sucker for all post-apocalyptic themes so am looking forward to this one.

music & scenery look fantastic. Unusual worldbuilding feels quite fresh. Lots of analogies to our world.
Still bland faces, but PP improved their characters a bit.
Fun ojiisan treating billboards like religious tablets.

C'mon, did people really this blind over under-hype?
i mean this is the gem for those who loves fantasy, dystopian, post-apocalyptic world-building.

I've been blindly watching every new show this season, and this is the most blown away i am so far.

The Opening song is the best out of all. The ost was gorgeous, it would reminds you of something like Final Fantasy. And the 3D rendered background of this incredible world, was some of the best rendered background I've ever seen! it blends perfectly in the action sequences with the fluidity of the camera movement, and it brought the immersion to the next level! It's almost feel like it destined and would only work with this CGI treatment. It's CINEMATIC!!

Easily the best looking and the best first episode out of the season so far

Lost Planet The Animation

Thanks God I'm not the only one to get this felling, but I would more likely say that this a mix of Lost Planet and a little bit of (reverse) Made in Abyss.

Also did Polygon Pictures animators got all upgrades to RTX 4090? This looks way better than all thier previous works, especially the frame is very consistent!

The CGI wasn't even that bad, man. It is such a unique idea and an intriguing series, which is why I detest the MAL rating system. People shouldn't be able to rate shows based only on their first episodes. The poor ratings for this show will cause many viewers to avoid it.

Forget about Final Fantasy. If you liked this first episode, I highly recommend the Xenoblade-franchise to you. Same feeling.
If you haven't watched "Fantastic Children", don't talk about "best anime". Thank you.

Not sure about it yet. Visually I like it. Story/plot could go a lot of routes. Personally I prefer more people and bigger cities and less of the adventuring. The background stuff with the guy with the bllboard signes - might be able to use that to slowly explain histor and how the world ended up like this.

Movies like Waterworld come to mind. (Here snow instead of water.) Also games like Septerra Core. (Here not a lot of layers but more the tree and canopy and the bottom with the snow mainly.) From anime ...  I'd think of stuff like Shinsekai Yori - where they did the setting and plot pretty well. Usually original stuff with fancy settings tends to fail near the end of the plot though. But we'll see.

Very very solid premiere. Right off the bat, the setting is undeniably unique. Also love the music and OP. CGI is standard polygon and didnt bother me in the slightest. Seeing this is from the creator of Blame!, I'm sure this will deliver. Definitely one of the best "new" shows this season.

Really interesting series.
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

So there are almost no people left and there are still those who fight and kill each other. The premise kinda suggests that there is more to the world. But not sure if I'm really all that interested in this.

Creators are getting better with 3d.
The world in Ooyukiumi no Kaina gives me strong Nausica vibe. It'll be great if creators will incorporate biological adaptations to the world in the story. Kaina lives in upper strata of the atmosphere, so visiting the surface will be quite a shock for his organism.

Fine start I guess, dividing the episode into a 2-parter, each showing the above and below and then finally, the meet at the end. Standard Poygon CG quality which is average and even Kohta Yamamoto's soundtrack is the standard you'd expect from him. What stood out though was the gorgeous art direction.

The Japanese fantasy only serves to make any story more bizarre than it naturally is, and the animation is terrible.
