This episode revealed a lot for the plot, first off it looks like the mayor is completely clueless and it’s actually his daughters running the show, kinda feel bad for him lol, and next is the big reveal of what Shu is losing when he gives Kisara her power, and it definitely looks like it’s his memories of being with Ayano, and man that is really sad lol. Ayano is currently my favorite and that hurts to know, there’s definitely gonna be a very feelsy ending to this show.

And Mini Mothra was definitely a problem until Shu and Kisara used some very cool teamwork to take it down, Shu pulled out his Destiny 2 exotic and double tapped the same spot with pinpoint accuracy, a really awesome sequence. And lastly, damn that heavy weapons act, what a silly law lol.

And man that ED is starting to hit, I already loved it the first time but it’s taking me back to Idaten Deities from last summer and I am loving it!

Finally this episode actually had me caring about Shu. Now we know he’s sacrificing something for the power and genuinely loves his ex. I really hope this ends well for all 3 of them somehow. I wish the series goes up from here

Tit for tat huh. More powers in exchange for memories. As long as Shu gets through his objective, he'll stop at nothing.

While it is true that Asian people tend to be more reserved, I don't think any cultural background is needed to understand the mentality of the characters in White Album 2. Perhaps one can relate to it more if they're in a similar setting as that of the characters, but the dramatic struggles are universal. I mean, it's not the third highest rated visual novel on VNDB for nothing.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed it! For me it’s even more special is that amongst all those highly praised VNs, it’s based purely on non-supernatural world setting.

Exactly. In the top five, you'd see Muv Luv, Steins Gate, WA2, Umineko and I think, Muramasa. Among them, WA2 is the only story that doesn't have a complex supernatural setting.

Memory loss to get power, prety cliche stuff at this point but at least it has potential. Let's see how developed they are going to go with this one.

Lol Kisara inserting herself into the family photo and waiting in that fountain. I love that crazy demon! But on a more serious note, it’s interesting that Shu’s sacrificing his memories to give her power. I guess that’s the terms of their contract. He’s doing whatever he has to in order to have his revenge for his family. I don’t know if that’s worth the cost though. At some point, he’s gonna forget everything about himself. That’s a pretty high price to pay. Makes sense why he broke it off with Ayano though. He cares for her still and wants to protect her, but he’s being driven by pure hatred and a list for revenge. Can’t have her sucked into that I guess.

Speaking of which, how cute she changed into the outfit she wore on their first date to meet him at the spot where I presume was probably their first date lol. I really liked how she just had that whole list of stuff he’s done in the past to let her down just right in her back pocket haha.

All in all, solid ep. This one is quickly becoming one of my new favorites this season.

I dont know why, but I feel bad for Kisara,, all those time they were together, Shuu doesnt really love her, he's just using her for his revenge and to save Ayano

I have a bad feeling about this anime, it felt like Kisara might sacrifice herself for Shuu in order to save him after he lost his memories at the end...

Hope this anime wont become another Guilty Crown - Takt op. Destiny,, tired of that shitty concept ending

Well damn… did not expect that twist coming. He loses parts of his memories each time he and Kisara kiss and give her power. They sure didnt make it this dramatic the first time we see it happen. Feels bad for the 3 of them ngl. One loses the memories he has of his loved ones, the other robs those memories and she see’s the memories of her loved one loving someone else beside her and her witnessing the suffering of that loved one dealing with it, and the other either having no idea whats happening or having to witness her loved one suffering while she has no power to prevent it from happening.
Calling it now, sad ending coming bois! I am glad I couldnt connect with any of the characters and wouldnt mind any of them dying anytime! I can watch this without having my anxiety sky rocket unlike with Lycoris.

Man, I am feeling super sad right now. Damn it show, how am I gonna fully enjoy the light hearted parts that I am sure we'll still have in future episodes after knowing all this information. Now I need my memories of this episode to be engage kissed until the end.

Sadness aside, this was definitely the best episode so far in terms of what it adds to the story. I heard also that this will be a 26 episode split-cour, so I am really interested to see where we go from here.

This show let me down in the last two weeks, but this week's episode was fantastic.

In my opinion, the first ep was a banger and I didn't really enjoy the newest 2 as much even though we got a backstory in this one and more character development but the show still has loads to go so we'll see.

An interesting episode that focuses on Shu's relationship with the company, and Ayano. As well as an explanation for his hatred of demons because of a dark past. Oh, and apparently, Kisara feeds on Shu’s memory to get her power through the kiss, not anything else... I wonder if Ayano knows about it. I was also surprised to find that Shu has no feelings for Kisara.

Damn, you gotta really trust your partner to let that happen

Anyway, a great episode. With Shu giving up his memories by months to power up Kisara, he’s basically slowly killing himself. And it’s made even worse by the fact that KIsara remembers those memories and must live with Shu knowing that her feelings might never be reciprocated. I fear some sad times ahead.

That's a cruelty of a dream if you ask me, Shu's definitely more than meets the eye of being a harem guy. Though Kisara self-inserting herself into Shu's family picture, that's funny.

So Bayron City is powered by Orgonium (kinda a wannabe Gotham City) that many numerous people have sought after its technology that provides resources to the city, much less the Demon Hazards when they appear. And naturally, this becomes a case for the auction for extermination, and Shu might find more answers by taking up this job, but his ex Ayano is just counting her grudges against the yandere Kisara hiding in the fountain lols.

The B-rank class caterpillar Demon Hazard that Shu thought he'd handle the same, is different this time, though his contributions can't be ignored as well. For now, no one can do the demon extermination job better than him, but it's his objective of getting his memories sucked out for Kisara's power that is the biggest question mark, which meant that Shu literally is a hollow shell of a husk, a boy with nothing but goals written to protect others the same way he couldn't for his family.

To give up memories for power, that's a power-up unimaginable.

Although its the same ol' "defeat monsters" formula of the previous two episodes, its a good thing that they introduced us to the consequences of using someone as powerful as her. Its a bit depressing and hence doesn't mesh well with the tone though one can also interpret that as a poetic contrast.

So I guess shuu's sister is still alive, became a demon as she got speared in that flasback scene, now roams around the city probably even being responsible for the demon appearances and he either wants to kill or safe her. I wonder if his sister is the one from the games' key visual, just don't know yet why the spear is burried below the city now. Really curious and hyped for more flashbacks especially how shuu met kisara.

That's sad how Kisara has to suck the memories of Ayano out of Shuu in order for her to power up. But does it HAVE to be the memories of Ayano specifically? Why not just take the memory of when he took a really good dump or something? Anyway I hope they made a lot of good memories together because otherwise Kisara would become useless real fast

This episode take emotional turned real fast. I am so curious how it's gonna end up with relationship of Shuu and Ayano in the next episode and how they gonna fix it probably. I am still puzzled like how exactly demon get their power to be stronger? is it memories or something else to give Kisara power ? Maybe a clear flashback of kisara past or about shuu family will give a clear answer of this puzzling episode. But overall this is a really great episode.

Losing some memories every time he helps Kisara to get powers is hardcore especially how much she needs to consume and with an attack that often he'll start losing most of his memories pretty soon, so that's what to expect in the future...

Damn the price for his powers are steep. But it honestly makes the anime a lot more interesting. What may appear to be 'lol yandere gf and harem bait with lazy guy' might actually be a bit more deeper. Also, now it makes so much more sense why all Shuu can do is grovel and apologize, because he often can't remember the things he did. Personally with the consequence reveal, this is giving me a lot of Speed Grapher vibes, which was a great older 2005 anime and also original. Feel like at this rate, this anime might have a similarly bittersweet or depressing ending though. Definitely has me intrigued.
No I don't read manga. Why? Because according to MAL manga readers, all anime is either: too rushed, too slow, anime original, or a terrible adaption. I like to enjoy anime for what it is, anime.

This is getting darker each episode. Losing one's memory as a sacrifice or even a part of your... just thinking about it makes it very depressing.

So our MC really did love that blue-haired girl with all his heart... RIP to the pink-haired girl. Now how will this series end.
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.
