Break from watching anime, but I'll probably be reading some weekly manga (i.e. One Piece), probably. Graduated High School in May of 2022. Summer vacation has finally arrived. I have once again regained the power of a new anime fan, being able to watch multiple anime episodes in a day. Time to binge-watch every single anime I can into the night until college arrives. SADGE. SUPER SADGE... College has begun, as of Monday, August 30, 2022, so you won't be seeing me much around these parks. See you on weekends, I guess... School me is back... Sighhhhhh!! I'll at least try for one anime a day with all this course load. It's the one-month break between semesters, so I guess I have A LOT more free time now. YESSS! I'll finish the anime I started in the summer season first before beginning any new anime from the fall season. Damn, I can't believe I missed a whole season of anime. Konnichiwa![cringe] random MAL viewer Welcome to my profile! About Me! Around the 28th December of 2020, I watched my first anime, at least what I personally consider MY TRUE first anime, outside of stuff like Naruto, Dragon Ball, or even One Piece, which I didn’t know was “anime” at the time when I started watching it. I PERSONALLY consider my first TRUE anime being Sword Art Online. That anime truly holds a place in my heart as being the anime that “opened” my life to the beauty of Japanese animation. It started, what I personally called, the Great Anime Era [cringe], which was in 2021, for me. So true to Gigguk’s Life Cycle of an Anime Fan [Time: 1:20-1:30] video, Sword Art Online, lightened up my desire to actively seek out more anime. Although Sword Art Online has a rep of being a “meh” anime, it holds a special place in my heart. I discovered manga around the 10th of February of 2021 [Note: I’d seen mangas before, but never what they were called], and realized that you can still follow and maybe finish the story even AFTER the anime ends. And that the anime that I’ve seen came from mangas. The first manga that I read was A Town Where You Live, which years later, I realized the story was quite meh. But at the time, as I had not seen anything, everything was good. [Time: 1:30]. Light novels. Regarding light novels, I had never heard of light novels until I truly started watching anime and realized that some anime, mostly isekais, came from light novels. Unlike dealing with reading manga, dealing with reading light novels is plain and simple. I only read the light novels of animes I truly enjoyed. And the first light novel I read was the Sword Art Online light novel. About Me! Non-anime Edition (taken from my ANN post). [Notice: BBCode Limit Reached!] My name is Joseph, and I am 18 years old, as well African-American, and an upcoming freshman in college as of Tuesday, May 31, 2022, my high school graduation date. I enjoy watching anime...duh, as well as reading light novels and manga. I also love working out. I dislike toxicity, dumb arguments, and raps with too many curse words. My favorite books, excluding light novels, include Warcross and Wildcard by Marie Lu. It was a pretty fun read, and I recommend it if you're into the sci-fi, dystopian genre of books. And When by Victoria Laurie. My favorite games include Days Gone, Spider-Man (PS4), Call of Duty: WWII, and Clash of Clans (mobile). My favorite TV shows/movies include The Boys. If you haven't heard of it, you must have lived under a rock or something. As well as Fleabag, it was a pretty fun watch, as some Marvel movies (Endgame and NWH for examples) and TV shows (Wanda Vision and Loki for examples). My favorite non-alcoholic drink would be protein shakes made by me... protein powder, some fruits, and almond milk blended lol. My favorite sport to watch would be the track and field events at the Olympics. I prefer shorter and quicker events because it has more "hype" or energy. And my favorite sport to play is FOOTball, not soccer, FOOTball. My favorite type of music would be anime openings; DREAMIN' ON, YOASOBI's Monster, Red Swan, etc... as a couple of examples. Non-anime music would include drivers license - Olivia Rodrigo, Heather - Conan Gray, Zombie - Maître Gims, etc... as a couple of examples. My hobbies would include working out (sometimes now), watching anime, or new episodes of Trash Taste when available, reading manga and light novels, and reading in general, as well as playing Genshin and HSR when I have the time (new!) Fun facts about me: I am an introvert, and I love reading and working out. I have trouble communicating in English since it's not my first language; French is. However, I'm pretty good at writing and reading in English. I love writing essays on controversial issues (global warming for example) that I care about and have lots of input on. My hands just move on the keyboard as ideas flood into my brain. However, I hate writing essays for school since the prompts are 90% of the time, stuff I don't care about or have little input on. Now that I’m no longer what people know as a “weeblet,” I have been making a journey down memory lanes - to my roots - the beginning when I truly started to watch anime. So lately, I’ve been going down my Netflix and Google documents, [I used to keep track of my anime in a Google document], and history to set the dates for the anime I have watched. Why? I don’t know. I kind of have OCD, and not having the dates input makes me feel uncomfortable. For the anime on my completed list which doesn’t have dates, I could not find when I started or ended them and gave up. PS. I’ve finished with the dates as of Tuesday, July 12, 2022. Currently, I am reading the Classroom of the Elite light novel while keeping up with the seasonal anime that's currently airing. I am not going to start a new manga or anime so I can have more time to read the first three volumes of the light novel which poorly adapted the first season of the anime. Update: I have read through volume 1-3 of the light novel as well as volume 4 and 4.5. I'm reading volume 5, and I began watching DanMachi in preparation for the upcoming fourth season. Since the fourth season is upcoming, I decided I could watch it now since I would have done it later either way. Update: I have read through volume 7.5 of the COTE light novel, so I have it on hold since that's about where the anime should stop for the second season. I wanted to be ahead. I have also caught up on the DanMachi anime. I'm now reading the Overlord light novel while keeping up with the seasonal anime. It's finally summer vacation again; YEAAAH!! I have summer classes; F*CK! I'm still doing f**king homework... most of the time, while MAYBE watching one episode of anime here and there or reading a few manga pages. Oh, and I also started playing HSR recently. It's much more casual than Genshin imo. It is nothing too complex, and I mostly rate it on enjoyment. I have started this thing, that instead of rating the entire anime after I've finished watching it, which I, sometimes, find difficult to determine how I feel about the anime, I give each episode a score, then get the average once it finished airing and round it to the nearest whole number. While I am well aware this is not groundbreaking, it just makes it easier for me to give a final score to an anime that I watched, which had slow parts, but the ending was good, and I feel conflicted about what score to give. Scores 10: A masterpiece, at least what I perceive to be a masterpiece. That does not mean that the anime is flawless, of course. Every single anime has a fault; nothing is perfect. No anime is without sin. However, a ten means that I excessively enjoyed the anime to the point that its flaws are insignificant to me. This anime would also stick with me even after it finished airing and immensely compel me to go and read the source material, either the manga or the light novel. A masterpiece among masterpieces would compel me to read the manga or light novel from the beginning, even if the anime completely adapted the light novel or manga, especially the light novel since light novel adaptations always cut out some stuff. 9: An anime close to a masterpiece, at least what I perceive to be close to a masterpiece. No anime is without sin. That means that the anime was a masterclass in its specific genre and, of course, had its flaws, but my enjoyment could not completely outweigh them. However, I still immensely enjoy the anime and likely had trouble deciding which score to give this anime, either a ten or a nine, and decided on a nine. However, this anime would also compel me to pick up the story in the source material. There would be a 90% chance that I would pick up the source material from the beginning. 8: Within its specific genre, this anime would hold quite well, but outside of that, it is simply enjoyable. The anime has notable flaws, but it is still quite enjoyable and entertaining. However, if I were to pick up the source material, I would likely continue the story where the anime left off, not from the beginning. Additionally, I would not revisit skipped chapters in terms of manga. If the manga chapters were removed from the adaptation, then they must not have been that important [That's what I tell myself]. Some anime falling under this score would consist of anime that have been highly praised, likely by an Anituber, [e.g. Garnt, Mother's Basement, Joey, Connor, etc.], and when I tried to watch it, I couldn't develop the same love they had for the series. 7: I, personally, treat a score of 7 as an average score. In short, it's MID. I watch it but never think about it afterward. However, I would still find SOME anime in this range enjoyable, kind of like a turn-your-brain-off-fun. Additionally, someone who likes this specific type of anime this anime falls under would enjoy it much more than I did. I would likely continue the story if I'm told that it "gets better" in the source material or that the anime butchered the adaptation, and the source material would be the most optimal medium to enjoy the story. Additionally, I would not revisit skipped chapters in terms of manga. If the manga chapters were removed from the adaptation, then they mustn't have been that important [That's what I tell myself]. Some anime falling under this score would consist of anime that have been highly praised, likely by an Anituber, [e.g. Garnt, Mother's Basement, Joey, Connor, etc.], and when I tried to watch it, I couldn't develop the same love they had for the series. 6 - It's TRUE-MID, and it felt like a waste of time when I could have been watching something better. It would still be a waste of my time even if I had nothing to do. I did not enjoy the anime, but there were still some aspects of the anime that kept me interested. I would most likely not pick up the source material. 5: I would have likely dropped this anime, but seeing as I would be close to finishing, I powered on just so I would not have to drop it. I would most definitely not pick up the source material. Anime falling in this range would likely be an anime I watched a long time ago when I first began watching anime and later changed their score after I had an epiphany on how trashier my taste was. 4: I would have likely dropped this anime, but seeing as I would be close to finishing, I powered on just so I would not have to drop it. This anime would have to have infuriated me, in a way like no other, and the only anime that did that was Gamers! I watched it a long time ago, and even then, [if you've read #5, you would understand] I could tell how bad the show was. I vividly remember watching it and being completely infuriated with how completely idiotic the actions of the characters were. How EVERYTHING could be fixed if they simply f***ing sat down and just talked. I wouldn't score anything below a four since I find no need to do that. Disclaimer: I do not consider myself an expert anime critic in any shape or form. I have watched some anime that were considered “deep” or whatnot, such as Serial Experiments Lain, Akira, Madoka Magica, or Perfect Blue. I’ve also read the The Flowers of Evil, which I guess is also considered “deep.” But I just couldn’t understand them. I always just look up what the anime was trying to convey or read comments about it. Additionally, I have yet to watch an anime that has truly changed my life. I always see YouTubers such as Gigguk or The Anime Man, talking about how anime changed their lives. In regards to me, I watch anime, I like it, and I can understand some themes it tries to portray, but it never actually changes my life. I won’t watch a “deep” anime then the next day, be a totally different person or have a new perspective on life. I’m still waiting though. Yes, I'm an introvert Me during summer vacation Me during school time Responsibilities am I, right? My Anime experience I'd rather binge-read the manga or LN and finish it After all, wounds heal faster when you’re young. If you learn how to fall now, I’m sure it’ll help you later in life. When you grow up, you see, the consequences for messing up gets bigger and bigger. The more responsibilities you start shouldering, the more important it gets not to make a wrong move. - Junko Kaname [Puella Magi Madoka Magica] Humans play the ideal version of themselves, keep[ing] their displeasures to themselves, and deceive[ing] others in order to be loved. - Narrator-Kun [Love is War] If you don’t put on an act, you won’t be loved. – Ai Hayasaka [Love is War] I yearn for true gender equality. I have no patience for one who talks about female privilege when it suits them, and then complains about someone not being a man when it's convenient. - Kazuma Satou [Konosuba 2] People are so shallow. They can only judge what’s on the surface. - Becky Blackbell [Spy x Family] People don’t change that easily, no matter how many chances they get to start over... I mean, people can’t just change. - Rudeus Greyrat [Mushoku Tensei] The internet's just too useful. - Hanako Honda [Asobi Asobase] There are things you can’t see unless you change your standing. – Trafalgar Law [One Piece] Traditions are... Well, they’re certainly very important. Else they wouldn’t be passed down from one generation to the next. So there must be a reason for them. And I don’t believe in defying traditions as you like... However, I despise traditions that continue to be upheld simply because they always have been. That amounts to little more than pure stubbornness. - William Jones [Emma] Wake up to reality. Nothing ever goes as planned in this accursed world. The longer you live, the more you realize that in this reality, only pain, suffering, and futility exist. - Madara Uchiha [Naruto Shippuden] a classic You only got one life, and it didn't [doesn't] have an undo button. - Ryuuen Kakeru [Classroom of the Elite] You seriously clicked here? You weirdo! Useless facts:

thank you
I'm still living in my parent's house. same. I'm an adult but because I'm sick that needs to be treated with medicine and money. I still can't live independently. that's why I also said that even though I'm talented I don't have time. cheer up.
is it true?! hmm I quite like rainy days
listen to a recording of my voice...?!I never do that... what for? school..
sound funnn
Usually, talking at MAL is not like this, it doesn't feel like chatting... more like sending a letter,..? the answer can come in 1 week or even months. (mostly because busy, work, school, and introvert,)
I'm used to seeing gmail every day, I can see incoming messages in MAL... that's why I'm one of those people who reply quickly.. and how about you ?
really? hmm I'm not trying to decorate it beautiful/amazing..I just wanted to share link and it turns out it requires BBcode.
I want to share...all my treasure. Youtube channel ,
1.CV部,
2. 花江夏樹,( this one sometimes has a translation, you can try it...)
3. 声優ファンクラ部,
4. りぼんチャンネル / RIBON CHANNEL【公式】
And many more ...
Hmmm after that... anime radio, I like to hear the full version, but many youtube channels translate it with parts like ,
CoLLa TV, Yalu and Shiroi. Ah?! sorry is rare.. I can talk . about this... so I'm kind of “out of control.”
let's forget this...
I can watch anime while working..
as you might have guessed by our discussion above. I can understand Japanese I never studied... just watching anime.. somehow I can?. hmm IDK. there are some people I know. They said I should take advantage and study Japanese seriously. Take certificates ..but I don't have time for that... busy but if there is a chance i will try.
Yup... I always believe the busier you are... you - have - to - take - care of - your - health. if you fall sick you won't be able to do anything.... after that you have to work overtime and game over.
you are lucky... have 4 seasons. in my country there are only 2 seasons, and that means having to work all year round...
my family immediately introduced me to anime they don't watch anime anymore (my sister sometimes..?) but they have their own memories about anime.
what manga are you reading if i may ask? I've recently become interested in manhua and as I expected (many of which are not in the MAL database).. I haven't been able to update MAL for a long time because everything I see.. and read.. isn't there.. Why?!
I'm actually a quiet person / introvert. but I have a (bad) habit answering like “essays?”...soo long...sometimes... takes hours.. sorry..
I know them for a long time. Funny story.. I shipped joey and aki... i was so happy when they said they were dating.. hmmm how nostalgic. but I haven't seen their podcast since ..Michelin Star Chefs?. is there an episode that you can recommend for me?
usually... I'm interested in someone's Reviews and look at their profile. but your case is quite unique.. I found you because I wanted to learn how to use Bbcode(immediately gave up, I don't think have time to decorate my profile)
i like making juice/smoothies,..various fruits and vegetables. I have never tried/thought of adding Protein powder. I've often heard of people doing it. Add protein powder, but no one ever said it was delicious/favorite drink. That's why I'm curious how you made it that doesn't sound disgusting at all, you sound so excited it makes me happy to read it.
Marie Lu.? I'll definitely remember her name when I have time to buy a book (I'm used to collecting books by author. I find it easier than remembering the title)
Same.. I haven't read a lot of books in years.. the last time I read diligently was when I was in middle school. Now it's quite difficult to find the right time.(now... maybe..hmm just 3 books/years) , manga..I prefer to read one-shot manga to rest, (many of which are not in the MAL database)
busy with life is a beautiful thing. but i can always find time to watch movie, drama, series etc of course the most is anime because it only takes 20+minutes /episode. even though it sounds strange or maybe related to differences in Corpus callosum... I almost gave you an essay..about science. anyway
I find myself able to watch anime while working
“I guess that's my OCD acting up or something. Good first impressions are always ideal.” How cute.. but i feel a little guilty.. because i didn't think anything..
with that kind of personality... next time be careful in replying to messages. take care of your health, don't stay up late for something that not important, I can wait.. but your future can't (study, health, work etc.)
And.. let's start talking about the anime... first.. I just want to tell you.. for those who just watched anime (28th December of 2020) you've watched a lot of things. I'm happy for you.
I've been watching anime since I was a kid.. you can find a lot of old anime in my MAL which are my childhood memories. so sometimes I'm quite jealous the person who “finds it..” because I never ... I already feel anime is always there just like cartoons and other entertainment,
if you like, and can. watch old anime try HXH (1999).talking about SAO...trying to continue until season 2(after that..i don't really care) speaking of isekai . my favorite isekai is log horizon.
I saw your 3x3 anime. even though it's different I think our likes are almost the same,( its.. Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun .Beelzebub .Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge .Chuuka Ichiban! .Ouran Koukou Host Club .Hunter x Hunter .Detective Conan. Magi ,Log Horizon)
that's also the reason why I wrote a comment on your profile but I... it seems that food always comes first.
PS: did i tell you..i like to talk?.
Ah?! I forgot to talk about anime..and... to introduce myself.. sorry for my impoliteness...let's start from.. hello. My name is iti.
