Just casually watching some training from across a giant forest up high in the trees with a big white fluffy dog on your lap while the rain pours, this episode passed the vibe check ten times over. This is more therapeutic than yuru camp

Animators have to fight time to choose and decide which parts to show each episode in order for it to fit the eps time span, they can't fit each fragment of information from the LN or author notes in there without compromising it. Im pretty sure those small details aren't important enough for them to need to be shown. Personally i think its ok since the way he says it adds kind of a funny tone to that particular scene. Obviously something not to be taken so seriously.
It's one thing "to choose and decide which parts to show" and other thing to make a completely anime original scenes and replace the canon ones...

70% of this episode was original and not in the LN. They could have shown at least Geese being released. Really, that's the least they could have done

Personally, as long as the new scenes add up to was already established in the novel, and dont change important details, they can do as they please.

Adding new stuff isnt a bad thing, if you want the anime to just be a 100% replica from the novel then you better just read the novel again because its not only impossible, but would also be very pointless, because there would be nothing in it that would make it a must watch for already fans of the series.

I don't know how important geese being freed or other details not shown might be of importance for the rest of the story, but im certain what was shown works for this format, and i like it.

These beast people are hilariously inept at knowing their own Sacred beast.

Oh and this Tona side-plot point was dull as dishwater. Fucking hell, was I bored shitless by it.

Great episode! Rudeus peeking at the girls having fun in the water until one of the girls’ father catches him and he immediately bows down and says sorry was a funny scene xD. ‘If you ever lay a finger on my daughter…’
Seems Ghislaine has some history with the Dedorudia trive and is now hated as she abandoned her duties. I’m happy Eris gets along with the other girls in the tribe and she is also their Japanese language instructor it seems. Rujierd also made a friend as well! I find it so amazing every time I hear the language that they especially made for this show as well! They are now heading for the country of Milis.

Really loving the 2nd cour a lot so far! Looking forward to the next episode!

The anime has japanese instead of the language they actually speak so that it is not subs only. Eris is teaching human language we heard right after rudeuses reincarnation in ep 1 when he still didn't understand.

I had a feeling of a filler episode.

Then you can understand why parts of the LN like this was skipped in the manga.

Anyway, it is good for Eris character devenlopment, but this season is not 52 episodes long, so im worried about how they are going to rush it later.

Oh Tona is so cute, good thing that after we get introduced to her in this episode (the main focus of this whole episode), she is going to come back very soon to the story, right? Right? RIGHT?

Btw, Rudeus was again j* off to minors. At this point everybody just accept that the MC is p* and dont even try to hide it.

What a nice and calm episode we have here. Mainly just a run through of Eris relationship with Tona and Terusena, as they spent three months building a relationship as a mentor and student(s).

Having an important person go is always a hard thing to swallow, especially if they left a great impact, just like Roxy and Rudy. And yo those 3 months were well spent, because wtf the animation is just as solid as ever in the fight between Eris and Tona. Also nice fight between Eris and Tona's dad, even I can't comprehend wth just happened with that.

This episode was good because it highlights Eris's character development. She holds back to a younger child, even suffering scratches from the whisker. And I almost cried when she reminisces about Ghislaine, that feels not too long ago. But in this anime, time flies fast....and it's somehow frightening.

Even at the risk of coming across as sus, Eris is kinda bad for someone who's a borderline loli. God, I hope this series didn't awaken something in me.

Ghislaine's story this week embodies the main theme of Mushoku Tensei perfectly

How not to get emotional at this...

Much slower episode this time around but pretty fun and amusing all around. Was nice to hear the tribe's impression of Ghislaine vs Eris and co. Really liked the part where Rudy said people can change.

Rudy getting busted ogling Eris in the bath with the Furies....

In the LN the farther smells the sent of arousal and threatens Rudius...

A lot of content cut and a lot of Anime original stuff put in but overall this was a good adaptation of the rainy season in the Forrest.

As they explained the stones with the 7 symbols on - this basically covered up to LN Volume 4 part 8 and will probably skip the last few pages of Volume 4 as they don't really add much.

With the next episode being "Family Squabble" it's probably adapting the first few chapters of Volume 5. so they're adapting at roughly the same pace as the first 11 episodes.

At this speed 12 episodes should get to the end of Volume 7 or at least a good way through it.

It's not filler.....its the last chapter of novel 4. they made some changes, but the changes were for the better as it re-added Eris character development that was removed from episodes 1 and 2; such as how she learned the beast language and is becoming a rational human being instead of the wild-child that she was. Also gave us a little bit of the lore about the 7 powers which will be absolutly critical later on.

Eris playing in the water with the two beast children was one wholesome sight!

Great episode and even though Ghislaine is still nowhere to be found, it was nice to learn a bit more about her backstory of her home village. I had a feeling that she was the sister of Tona's dad.

A pretty laid back episode. Great transition to the next part of this journey back.

To end the group's stay at Dordia village, Eris and Gyes participate in an.. one swing spar. Well, the group is off on the roads again! Oh yeah, Geese is back.

i have hear many people said this is filler for manga reader.

let me say this to clear up, this is not filler this is exist in light novel for world building / explaining the world, exploring world culture.

in manga this was cut entirely, yes the manga is the worst adaptations it has many source material cut + added some ecchi scene that not exist, specially in academy arc.

i reapeat this is not filler because those 2 loli beast girl later
and its just the manga is bad.

They're leaving Doldia village now - it was interesting to see that's where Ghislaine is from.

When Dead End return home, then perhaps they could take a visit with her - Eris could even meet her student again.

So that village was indeed Ghislaine's hometown, huh? Well, talk about coincidences.

Honestly, not the biggest fan of Eris but having her as the center for this episode sure felt refreshing. Not to mention we could also see how much she has grown as character. I mean, she's still a brat but it's true that she has matured quite a bit since they got teleported.

And by the way, kudos to Ruijerd for keeping an eye on the children so they don't drown. The real MVP this episode.

Nice episode. So Ghislaine's the princess of the dodoria? As expected, I thought she would've been the older sibling for some reason though. It was cool learning more of her backstory and seeing Eris' growth. I cringed a bit at some of the water works though, sheesh.

Now we're moving on to Millis, a step closer to finding their family and friends.

This episode honestly felt like a filler, along with the last episode. These two just felt unnecessary. Also the dialogues, scenes and Eris' reaction when Ghislaine was bad-mouthed (seriously) was pretty cringe. From the side of technical work and character design it was really good but just didn't really feel too good. I'm hoping we're gonna get back on track with the next episode, I kind of have a feeling.

Yes, I'm tired of these filler episodes where literally nothing happens, the entire villaga saga could have been 2 episodes, we will probably never see these characters again and there's nothing interesting about them, nor did we learn anything new about our own heroes. I have been forced to watch these last two episodes at 2x speeds because I want the main plot line to progress, and I'm getting extremely tired of the fillers.

What a great episode, it exceeded my expectations again. 🥰
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

I think the best way to describe the episode is sweet. I only really have two criticisms: 1. Rudy's pervyness continues to hamper the show, I really hope his character can grow past that soon since it's just not fun to sit through. 2nd is I don't think they demonstrated the passage of time well enough. I have no clue how long they stayed there. But other than that, it's another stellar episode.

Anime makers might think they have the time to develop every single plotline, but we anime-only watchers only care about what we will see this season, I don't want to wait 10 years before the main plot-line moves an inch. Greed is the only reason to stretch things out so much.

Some things they left out from the WN/LN:

  • The Sacred Beast is normally locked up for its protection. However, often when Rudeus was by himself the beast would walk up to him and hang out with him. This caused drama between him and the Beast people because they thought he was breaking the Sacred Beast out of its cell. In actuality Gisu was freeing the beast every time in an attempt to appease Rudeus, since he thought Rudeus liked the Sacred Beast's company.

  • Rudeus went out to train one day by himself to practice trying to fly with magic. He ended up messing up his initial landing badly and almost killed himself. The blood from his injuries attracted a bunch of monsters and, in his panic and confusion, ended up freezing everything between him and the main village, monsters included.

  • When monsters would attack the village, Rudeus, Rujerd, and Eris would help protect everyone. The beast people were very welcoming of their help, which off-put Rujerd. The last time he interacted with the beast people a few centuries ago, they were a very proud race who would never accept the help of strangers so easily. Rudeus ended up talking with Rujerd about this criticism, and changed his mind, which lead Rujerd to enjoy the company of the warriors of the beast people.

Mushoku Tensei's a series about Rudeus' life. And in life, it can move really fast suddenly with changes out of nowhere or loads of stuff to do that you don't realize the passage of time, or it moves slowly where you're stuck and just passing time at a slow rate. Here, the episode went a lot slower for Rudeus' life as he was stuck for a few months there along with Eris and Ruijerd. The show's showing various aspects of how he's living, whether its the dramatically fast and changing situations like what happened with him just suddenly being teleported with Eris through that mana disaster, or through the slow phases like these where he's just stuck at the forest due to rainy season and just passing his time there while seeing how much Eris has grown overtime. This episode was focused on Eris' development that she's shown with the progression of time as she's gotten a lot older and more level-headed in comparison to how she was in the past, actually fleshing out her character other than just leaving it on the side in the adventure.

And there is plot points and key elements mentioned here that will be key for the story in the long run as there's no point in just rushing through his life. A plot doesn't have to progress massively with each episode, this is a story meant for patience to enjoy the long run as a whole and Studio Bind wants to anime that. No point in having the story completely rushed just for plot sake, Mushoku Tensei's show can be great at both plot-heavy episodes with tons of development and twists suddenly, and episodes like these where you focus more on the characters and world building in a brand new setting, with subtle foreshadowing and plot developments for the future.

Massive stuff will happen sooner rather than later anyway, so might as well enjoy a calm before the storm episode with good development shown for Eris too for that kind of episode.
