I wish I could say that the ending was unexpected, but was everything expected.

Was a interesting journey, but I honestly wont rewatch ever again.

I will give my normal 8, after all im still here after 13 episodes.

can someone please explain to me what exactly happened after the post-credit scenes?

At first, I thought that Vivy got revived, or rather re-programmed, again in the future with short hair, but after rewatching the last scenes... I am now a bit confused.
Matsumoto got destroyed, and Vivy too. And they are together in that music room when they first met in that Archive. And outside the window, there's no AI at all and even the surroundings are old ones, not the advanced futuristic ones.... so what exactly happened?

maybe i am dumb, so plz can anyone explain?

Wow, what a gratifying ending to such an emotional rollercoaster. It was thrilling, it pulled on my heart strings, it looked and sounded amazing. It did all I could ask for from a 13 episodes runtime.

Ngl, I was tempted to call this style over substance, which isn't necessarily not true, but that wouldn't be fair to a series that has done a really solid in all areas. At last another orignal anime that fully convinced.

8,5/10

With the previous timeline knowledge, Elizabeth turns the power off once again, which had led to their plan's failure, Matsumoto stops the satellites from falling and Vivy finally manages to sing from her heart using all of her previous memories to shut down all of the AIs.

Man what a masterpiece of an episode! Really has me tearing up during that song. And of course, the final song of the series is the best one. I also liked how ambiguous the final scene was. Could not tell if it was a distant reality or a dream sequence.

Overall, this anime was a 10/10 and I feel like it might be AOTS and potentially AOTY for me.

Safe way to end the anime. At least it doesn't ruin the show like some series yk. But tbh i expected a more outstanding ending, since episode 6 left me in awe.
Great fight scenes. Gorgeous close-up shots. Decent story despite of some plot conveniences. It really reached its peak during episode 4 - 6. Overall 7.5/10

Good not great finale. If the rest of the show hadn't set the bar high I wouldn't have had such high expectations.

I don't think they nailed the song. It was half action half memory/flashback, and the tone of the song doesn't line up to the action sequences, which in turn don't really have much tension or continuity. Compare to the big musical finish of episode 6 which, along with that episode's credits/post credit scene, represent a high water mark of the show.

I feel like the final two episodes could be restructured somewhat to provide a big audio/video action sequence prior to vivy's musical memorial. For example, run the big A/V action finish through episode 12 instead of episode 13. This in turn would free up vivy's song to be more cohesive between audio and visual.

Again, I wouldn't have such high expectations from the finale had the rest of the show hadn't delivered on those expectations previously. Also, the vivy's final song is literally the name of the show, it s somewhat important to get right.

I haven't been emotional about an anime for a long time, at least 2 years and this got me on multiple occasions. Even when the ending is nothing out of the box it still got me hooked. However, there are areas that could be better so I'd give it a 9.5/10

That was an ok ending. Imo Vivy should have stayed "dead" at the end, reviving her or whatever kinda undermines the sacrifice she made to save humanity. It also felt too easy for her to suddenly be able to sing without really working through her issues. I think not being able to sing was a good addition to Vivy's character development, but in the last two episodes it was just used to build tension until it was set aside when they needed her to sing. Some other parts like archive being the final villain and all of the drama with the sisters being somewhat pointless rubbed me the wrong way too. That being said, this was still a pretty good show, especially for an original. 7/10

I do agree there were many plot conveniences here and there but didn't last episode tell us no matter how many times Matsumoto travels back in time Archive still knows about it and corrects the timeline (by sending information and future technology to the Toak guy for example)? So going further in the past is meaningless. Archive only accepts changes in the timeline if they helps Vivy sing.

Vivy truly is the hero their world deserves. Putting her own life on the line to fix their world deserves a special medal.

Final episode is kinda what I had expected tbh. It went and managed to conclude the show after all the bulidup. Vivy's song and voice also reflects the sheer force of emotions of her character. Going to rate this a 7/10. Enjoyable for sure but not a masterpiece either.

Apparently there's going to be an episode 14, narrated by Vivy and Matsumoto and it will be a compilation of all the events of the story.. Maybe we'll get some information of what happends after the ending? Overall i loved the series, episode 13 was great too, but i would love to know what happends with the AIs after the ending

I am glad I checked Vivy, last time I was so hooked with anime original was TTGL I think.
Thank god Tappei understands that there is no need for more deaths and tragic japanese endings, specially with AI story. Yes, right after the war there is no place for cooperation and peaceful life, but machine doesnt care about time. Doesnt matter how far in the future, Vivy and Matsumoto deserve to see the world they saved, the world without war. I just hope Vivy can restore her memory, her heart.
The opinions of people with shit taste, such as yourself, may differ of course.

Vivy was finally able to sing her song, and their mission overall was a success. I thought Vivy was going to stay dead, but in the end she was reborn and can continue making people happy with her singing.

I had no clue what to expect from this show going in, especially with it being an original so it's not like I could reference any source material. But damn this exceeded the expectations I initially had by miles. I'm satisfied with this conclusion and the journey we all experienced.

Good production/OST and solid main character, yet the overall plot is all over the place (this was really close on being as disorganized as the Star Wars sequels) and the author has an extreme obsession with cheesy elements, making AI choosing their decisions purely with emotions, even when they're supposed to be objective, like the Archive. It was impossible for me to care about anything happening to side characters or the world due to how rushed and dumb the stuff happening was in here. Really disappointed with both the plot and the anime community here. Overall 6/10 and almost being close to a 5/10.

I really love the first half of the show, the individual story arcs were great on their own but the ending is rather disappointing. Well, I guess it can't really ended in any better way, still can't help but felt somewhat let down due to how good the early parts were.

Why do you think he said he doesn't want to talk about it? Perhaps, he wants to think it's deep but find it hard to convince anyone else to feel the same, lol.

From my interpretation, the message of the show is quite clear : If you put your heart into what you do, you will achieve greatness and will able to convey your feeling to others. They didn't really change the history at all throughout their journal, all the event just serve as means to strengthen Vivy's "heart" and show the beauty in AI's life and their relationship with human, which leads to Archive deciding to give her the option to completely stop them.

I don't think there's really any other deeper meaning, glad to be educated further if someone can show other interpretation though.

Sooo ... that's it? After some good arcs (8/10) a boring last arc end ending. I even considered giving 6/10 only (which I last gave to Jouran this season). But staying with 7/10. Same as Dynazenon. Dyanzenon was a llittle bit better though.

I really should stop watching anime whent it is obvious that the studio is only known for the good animation - but I prefer interesting story/plot ...

Quite the emotional ending even though from last episode we knew what was going to happen in a broad sense of the word. I'm glad that Vivy's loose end with Navi and the little girl was given some attention, and the montage surely was brimmed with heart-felt emotion, giving me chills down my spine. The only downsides from the episode came from the fact that by being AIs the shutdown didn't come as harmful as probably intended, and it coming from Vivy's singing felt a little bit too convenient.

Nevertheless, the show was packed to the brim with action, well choreographed fights and engaging subplots that made the side characters all the more memorable. That being said, looking back the whole premise stands on the question of how much exactly can an AI do, specifically in terms of emotions and reasoning. This matter came to mind in scenes such as Antonio's demise, where its intentions as well as Ophelia felt way too human-like to be attributed to AIs.

Either way, despite the liberties taken in that regard, there's much to enjoy about this idol, which is probably among the best I've seen coming out from this genre.

I highly agree with you. This show is all about Vivy finding the meaning of putting your heart into what you do, like Violet Evergarden finding the meaning of love. The time travel to stop Human-AI war is just a side plot to make main storyline less boring.

Solid finale ep with expected vocals to the ED . While the individual character arcs prior to the finale was great, the final arc itself was kinda... meh.

Considering Tappei's work on Re:Zero and Umehara's on Chaos;Child where both series have major plot twists even during the final moments of an arc, Vivy felt... too simplistic and boring. The final villain in the form of Archive is eh and we're just gonna gloss over the Kakitanis it seems.

This anime sure was a rollercoaster ride. I thought it had a good conclusion. Vivy finally realizing what it meant to pour one's heart into singing. To her, heart meant the memories she had made during her long long journey. Finally Vivy got to the main stage and this time was able to sing and was able to save humanity. Vivy's mission is complete. And finally the show ends with the reunion of Matsumoto and Vivy but with having her memories reset.

Really gonna miss Vivy and Matsumoto's dynamic. Also props to Vivy's seiyuu. She did a fantastic job. Really good original anime.

Kakitani story and motivations are non-sensical. Also very bad translation at times which is unnecessary confusing.

super AI database with billions of connected AIs and access to everything somehow overlooks the downside of operating solely and entirely from 1 single centralized accessible physical location.. how convenient. Convenient Shutdown/Virus pulled out of thin air. Overall the entire plot feels kinda weak and doesn't ever explore any technical aspects (e.g. unlike Steins;Gate). Still overall Good show due to visuals and pacing, story/plot drags it down and the singing premise didn't interest me. Found the wrap-up very cliché and predictable, writing felt rather poor. Still an enjoyable watch overall despite it's flaws - 7/10

What a fantastic show and possibly the best outcome we could have wished for.

It's been a while since a seasonal original Anime has struck me as much as Vivy did. Even though to me, Sora yori mo Tooi Basho will likely never be beaten, Vivy managed to come really close to that bar. Original Anime are a hit or miss as of late but Vivy gives us hope that there are still minds capable of creating fantastic original content.

The whole sequence of Vivy singing actually brought tears to my eyes, I didn't really expect this to happen as it was clear what was going to happen to Vivy and I had kinda prepared for that, well how wrong I was and my emotions still got messed up. Especially the moment when the song abruptly stopped and she fell down.

"Thank you for your attention" that was so sad T_T

Seeing Vivy wake up in a better future was really pleasant, of course no recollection of her past memories, but it was nice to see her and Matsumoto interact one final time. Very satisfying ending.

WIT studio is heading towards a reputation of making incredible original works after Great Pretender and now Vivy. Animation was great and a bonus point towards the many close ups we got of Vivy's face. The details and art on that was just breathtakingly beautiful. Characters were great and their voice actors delivered massively in that department, I swear some parts of Jun Fukuyama's voice acting I had to read multiple times, cause hell he is quick in his speech for Matsumoto. 9/10, best original Anime in the last few years.

AOTY so far. It was a little corny showing all of the memories, but it made sense in the context. I’m actually shocked that this ended up being so good.

Sure, there are some plotholes and the character art could have been a little better most of the time, but it never had any real duds and stuck the landing.

I wouldn’t mind calling this a modern classic.

Agreed. This episode was a fantastic end to a very good series.

Imo This anime really fell from grace. It started out as a 9-10/10 for me but the plot became too predictable towards the end. But overall it was a very enjoyable watch.

I believe if it didn't have the hiccups it did in the middle/ end I would say it would have been on par or better than 86 or To Your Eternity.

But let us not forget that this is an original with no source material therefore we must give credit to the writer since most original animes are trash or mediocore at best.

Solid 8/10

What a ride that was, I loved every week. Honestly, the only other show that was able to deliver on this level consistently was 86. Both are strong contenders for AoTs imo.

You know I was ready to accept Vivy being gone forever when she shut down...so the last part caught me quite off guard with her being back, just reset again.

So here is an end to the anime i was most obsessed to this season.

After the last singularity mission and the episodes before the last episode, my ratings went a bit down for this show with some complexity and some unnecessary things happening. So my stakes were pretty on the ending as everything was set up.

And goddamn, the ending went on like fire. The ending is straight up 10/10. Everything, every moment was so damn good.

And then there is this Vivy x Matsumoto. I love it.

But the real feeling of ' how to end a show' began when vivy started singing that song. The song was so so good. I was having chills throughout that song.

It is one of those anime where the stage is set up throughout the series for that last god damn final episode which would melt the hearts of all the fans.

There are some plot holes and it is surely not a masterpiece but it was very enjoyable for me. Thank You Vivy༎ຶ‿༎ຶ And they dare end that beautiful song in between (╥﹏╥)

Planned on giving it a 8/10 but would give it a 9/10 most probably because of the ending!
