I'm kinda sympathizing with Akutagawa even though I kinda hated him so far...Mmmm I wonder what'd happen in the next episode. I expected more from the priest though....hopefully it's not over yet.

A very definitive drop in quality over the first 4 episodes but still qualifies as a decent one. The dialogues are no longer well thought out and seems a lot shallower the focus is more on fighting and some twists.
Well this was to be expected. The first 4 episodes were worthy of making any anime AOTS/AOTY if continued for 13 episodes.

The three-way conflict is pretty exciting, though it's frustrating that the Guild seems to be so... gullible this episode. >.>
I'm really glad that Chuuya seems to be getting way more screen-time that last season, as he's probable a favourite of mine. Though, it'd be nice to be filled in more in regards to the relationship between Chuuya and Dazai - surely there's some history between their partnership to talk about?

Epic fight but i think that those 2 from the guild shouldn't have survived for so long, especially the girl.
The lemon guy did an epic scene.

Looks like Port Mafia still standing superior because they made Detective Agency & Gifted Guild clash head to head!
5/5.

The bomber like lemons (Zero no Tsukaima Lemon-chan :3)
Akutagawa as badass as ever. He hast one of the most OP powers ever and I like it.

Port Mafia Boss toying with both of the agency & Guilde is always funny to watch :p

But I can't get the no-face all over the episode, it reminds me of a korean manga (manwha or something like this) with terrible drawing. It's bones, please draw some face details :(

They adapted the chapters more or less well despite the omission of some scenes (nothing important though, if I remember right).

I still cannot believe the Guild let Kajii wreck their ship, Kajii, of all people (I also wonder why the Agency didn't arrested him during the incident of the train, though. He is an obviously insane and dangerous individual and not the kind of people you will let free when you has the chance to capture him).

The fight of Akutagawa against Hawthorne and Mitchell was also very cool, it has fluid visuals and the voice acting was on point (props to Akutagawa's VA). I still find weird the way The Scarlet Letter is portrayed. While reading the manga, I imagined it being like red letters used as a weapon rather than like an orange mass similar to Akutagawa's Rashomon. And speaking about Rashomon, it may be one of the most cool looking abilities of all the series. I'm looking forward Akutagawa's new techniques in the future.

I'm sure the most of people won't give a fuck about Hawthorne and Mitchell considering they barely had screentime, but I really felt bad for them. They were defeated too quick without making us see more of their personalities.

They also did well the part when Chuuya attacks the Agency and they discover the trick of the Mafia with the Guild and Naomi.
Next episode will be exciting considering we will see fucking Lovecraft in action. I really, really hope they did justice to that part (though the title implies they will also adapt the scene when
Wonder what Bones is planning...

I don't necessarily dislike hawthorne . I find his priest character enjoyable . But i don't quite like what he did later on
Oh, you are right with the stuff of the mafia. Now it's understandable why they didn't arrested Kajii or Black Lizard when they could. Fucking Mori is cunning like a fox.

LOL I think they might even have had a change against Akutagawa if the woman wouldn't have talked shit to him xD never known defeat or humiliation? What a joke. He was beaten by someone who couldn't even properly control his ability just recently. Of course that'd tick him off xD Now is just the question does he get out or is he collapsing himself and only taking out one of the two?

As enjoyable a fight as it was, I find it a bit ridiculous that those Guild members fighting Akutagawa survived so long with all those injuries, as they logically should have died. After all, not everyone has healing powers like Atsushi, so there's no reason those two should have been able to get back up and fight again and again and again. Stll, this is definitely a solid arc so far, and I only hope that continues.

Well, I found it to be a common action anime cliche, actually.
Also, Hawthorne is pretty OP, and Hawthorne X Mitchell OTP!

And this episode made me realize how much I miss seeing Yosano in action after she basically killed that lemon guy ;)

And Ranpo should open his eyes more often, he looks good with them open XD

this show is written with so many half thought out ideas, but the thing is that they're actually good. but they aren't acted out to the fullest so it's just plain awkward.

In Guild's ship, two members are on duty, Nathaniel and Margaret, they received Ogai's threat letter and the soldiers captured mafia's bomber, he cheated everyone and detoned a bomb in the helicopter's load, after the disaster Akutagawa appeared and attacked Nathaniel, and when he was hurt, Margaret protected Nathaniel with her body from Akutagawa's attack. In the Agency's lair, someone is entering though the tunnel, it is Chuya and brought a trap set for two guild members (Lovecraft and John S.), they're gonna go to the Agency's office (where Kirako and Naomi are) thinking they'll find them there. Fukuzawa sent Kunikida and Tanizaki to solve it.

The ship assault was pretty dramatic, I didn't see it coming, I mean, Ogai is really careful to expose Port Mafia like that, maybe it was a good move, and despite that, in his mind, he's trying to end this conflict confronting the Agency with Guild. The girls are in trouble. Some amazing backgrounds.

It really requires a huge suspension of disbelief when characters not only living in a world has a reality-defying powers, but who's livelihood is defined by such, are arrogant enough to think that there's no way the enemy organisation could ever succeed in surprise attacking them. You can't even say that it shows someone's arrogance, as everyone seem prone to this, including wise-looking good characters.

But other than that, an enjoyable episode all around.

Man I feel for Akutagawa, as much as a bad guy he is, I feel he's been through a lot. I feel Akutagawa is the kind of person who is shaped by external influence, social or psychological. I don't think he's inherently evil deep down but became extremely evil out due to his upbringing. Just like atsushi said, some people need something to go on, to worth living. In Akutagawa's case since he was an orphan he was taken to the dark side,to port mafia. That's where he thought he belonged and he wanted to be worth something. I feel like Dazai is to blame for much of what Akutagawa has become. I mean Dazai wasn't on the morally right spectrum during his time in mafia. Dazai was just as cold. And he only wanted Akutagawa to become a polished murderer. But Dazai saw the light, escaped and changed because he had someone to guide him. Oda was there to show him the right way. And Dazai inturn took Atsushi, gave him acceptance, and trusted him although atsushi struggled with his powers. But what about Akutagawa? I think Dazai's treatment towards him was rather dark and vile when he was also someone who came from the same background as atsushi. Had Akutagawa been taken into armed detective agency I don't think he'd be this way. I don't want to hate him just like that when it's more grey than just black n white. What about Koyouka who killed 35 people? Dazai's death count might be higher than anyone. As such all characters are morally grey so Akutagawa isn't badder than Dazai or Kyouka logically speaking and if he gets a redemption it'd be nice to see. Good episode though.
