What an incredible anime. It has my attention from start to finish. I love the scenes that split the screen into several segments. I always watch the other ones instead of the one that's being animated, because it makes me feel like I am tricking the creators. :3

Peco's eyes in the beginning of the episode.

The ED is still amazing, and I am glad they went back to the original mix they had in the first few episodes (I think...)

God damn it, I was so emotionally invested in this match that even though I knew that Peco had to win for the sake of the narrative and I was technically fine with that, I was still genuinely rooting for Kong.

That's not to say I dislike Peco, he's developed into a great character, but Kong was my favourite.

RIP China

"Welcome back Hero". Classic.

I feel bad for Kong, but I suppose we're heading for the inevitable Smile/Peco final. This is one seriously entertaining show.

Awesome episode. Never a dull moment. I'm seeing this show could finish with a solid 8 from me at the end. Also, I feel like I can't get enough of this. So refreshing and the possibilities are endless.

Yaaaaas Peco! I like China but it's good to see the less perfect side of him.

Awwwwn, Kong... Why did you had to meet him so early? If only we could have seen more of him, I love his character so much.

Now that the hero as return, there's a new card in the game. Everyone expected a Kazama vs Tsukimoto final, but I think everyone will be dumbfounded by the turn of events.

Kazama have too much weights on his shoulder. It will break him.

Smile joke on his ''defeat'' made me laugh so much xD

Peco has to fight all the aces. Then I realised it's the hero motif, he's going through them all to Smile.

Like everyone else I felt sorry for Kong and damn everytime that plane appears and he thinks of returning home..I want to hug him. Oh and he talks chinese again. yay. I love the sound of it in the middle of Japan. :P
I think the finals will be surely Peco vs. Smile . To get there Peco will just defeat Kazama with his outstanding talent, he has nothing to loose unlike Kazama who has so many thoughts.he is not really playing ping pong for fun unlike Hoshino. I wonder who will be Tsukimoto`s opponents though?

So, Peco is Smile's "hero"? Hmm, interesting.

I also feel kinda bad for Kong. At the beginning of this show I thought he was going to be pompous and full of himself but he turned out to be a pretty kind a thoughtful dude. Poor guy, I guess he's going back to China after this? D:

It seems the more likable Kong becomes, the worse his luck in Ping Pong gets :(

this anime is so god damn deep.
ping pong is SO CLOSE to overtaking haikyuu!! as my fav anime of this season ;___:
on another note, i can't help but feel terrible for kong. his prime is over and on top of that, he keeps getting matched up against smile or peco before the final.
also, seeing him continually think about home and his family just kills me inside ;___;

confirming peco as smile's 'hero' was really touching as well.
gawd damnit, pls tell me there's more material here to animate, i'll cry if you give me bad news ;___:

I love how peco was the hero and not smile, Sad to see kong get eliminated but that last scene with the symbolism in the airplaine was quite powerful in addition to his dialogue.

So Peco was the hero Smile was waiting for all this time?
That's actually very touching and says a lot about Smile and how much he cared for his friend. Even his tendency to hold back makes much more sense now that we know he considered Peco like a hero.

I like how Smile has really slimmed down in a very realistic way. It's noticeable and shows the results of his training. Same with Peco too although Smile's is much more profound. The game between Wenge and Peco was pretty good and helped drive home just how much both of these characters have grown since their last match. I like how Kazama is in Peco's bracket because now I have no idea which one will be playing Smile.

Didn't expect Peco to absolutely destory Kong like that. I feel bad for Kong but it seems like ping pong was also shackling him. Like during the final shot they showed memories of his mother.

So it turns out Peco was the hero...

This show does with so-called "bad animation" what most expensive, super-sharp looking anime could only dream of. They pack so much into the animation, it's really astounding. The airplane scene in the match against Kong was superbly drawn, laden with emotion.

Another fantastic episode. Peco is a beast.

Fuck this show is turning out to be so freakin brilliant. Motherfuckin' Kazama is so hardcore. Kong Wenge's character should be completed by now, great development all the way. Peco is my personal favourite, his development is also nothing short of outstanding. Smile didn't get much these past few episodes, but he's still a very solid character with great backstory and friendship with Peco (his hero).

By the way am I the only one who thinks that Kazama doesn't have much talent at all? I mean he has enough talent, but according to Obaba Peco is above him talent-wise.
Obaba: But talent-wise he is above Kazama fosho.
Ojiijii: No wayyy. <- Dat face lol.

All around awesome episode.

Edit: I'd rather see Peco vs Smile, hopefully he can win against Kazama, but.. chances are slim.

Aghhhhh feels.

But holy crap. I was not expecting Peco to be Tsukimoto's 'hero'. Damn. Damnnn.

Brilliant episode, the last match was amazing and probably one of the best sequences ive watched in anime. So much genuine emotion and the ost just makes everything better. I love this show.

This series moves me the same way GoT did for me. It seems the more down on their luck the character is, the more noble and honest their intentions are, the more likeable they are to me.

Off course some people like the shows for the villains but let's not not speak of them :P

And yes the hero is back!

The chosen ones blessed by the heavens, the 1%, the alpha and the omega, they are on a different plane of existence than the filthy commoners, they taking the first step into the unknown, leading the way and illuminating the path for everyone else, opening up "the path of success".

Kong is finished, he should become a ping pong teacher/coach instead.
Peco has bloomed and will defeat the robot.

i very much doubt that. but it will be close when peco/ko loses.

That will depend on smile.

i don't think he'll make the same mistake he did with china. he'll win against peco/ko because he should and deserves it.
-------

ahahahaha! i was right! the hero was/is peco/ko! that just makes him all the more awesome he is. that's just great and says a lot about smile and what he feels about peco/ko. i wonder how he felt when he saw peco/ko go off the deep end, then.

THIS SERIES JUST KEEPS FREAKING GETTING BETTER IT'S ALMOST UNBELIEVABLE.

was so very sad to see china not only defeated, but obliterated. i had no idea peco/ko had come that far. and the old lady said that he would do the same (if not even worse) to ryuichi. amazing.

I have to say that every camera angle shown was really well-placed~

Ryuuichi's training regimen looks realoy menacing.

Everyone's freaking out over the mats. Just table tennis things xD It seems that the best ones there didn't bother wearing different shoes.

Kong put up a good fight with his spin ball technique but found out that Peco has started to utilize his talent along with practice. That "say hello to Kazama for me" was really heartfelt and the plane symbolism only made it more so :o

The Hero has finally returned and his name is Peco omg.
