Damn those Dominators really screw you up.

And I was expecting something in Kogami's past but I wasn't expecting him to be Gino's partner. I had Masaoka pegged for that.

This episode shows what a major flaw on blowing up your suspects is. You never get to interrogate them.

I'm sorry, I see this come up again and again, and just have to ask. And interrogate him for what? They got their guy. There wasn't even a hint of others being involved as far as they were concerned. Besides, what questions would they even ask had they taken him in? Without knowing of others, how do you expect they'd get him to talk about accomplices? They assumed he cracked the holos, and did all of this by himself. Besides, he was dangerous. Even behind bars or a rehabilitation center (which I'm assuming is where they'd hold him), he could still manage to fuck some shit up.

Wait until the next episode (I think it is) to see a logical interrogation from Gino giving the facts of previous cases.

Wow, getting shot by Dominators is not a fun way to go...

I can see why Masaoka thought that way about the internet. Even though it's a community of people, they are all separated from each other physically. It seems to promote the whole, "humans are social creatures" aspect but in a way, it's also driving them apart.

Really liking this show.

The way Shinya utilizes internet activity tracing to solve this case is pretty ingenious, some solid detective works here.
So Shinya and Nobuchika used to be partner eh? That history really add depth to the characters. I guess the case Shinya was involved in before demotion has something to do with that Shougo dude.

The plot has been thicken...

It looks like Shogo Makishima has it's own bodyguard now (Choe Du seong).

I can't believe that Mido has been double crossed...

I just saw the Blu-ray Version and it's more violent than the TV-Version. I guess they had to tone it down a little bit. Geez they didn't just censor it they changed a sequence. If they did that who knows what they did to later Episodes that are way more violent than this one.

Yeah, and i can't wait to see the rest of the violence uncensored. Though, my opinion is that PP's censor is the right one. There are no light lines or black lines. The censor is the angle of the "camera". This is how it should be done.

I believe that's because they didn't know that he was necessarily working for/with somebody else; they probably believed him to be a lone criminal who had a knack for slicing people up in his blender and taking over their online avatars~

This was a good episode. Kougami displayed his great sense once again. The bad guy made an appearance. We also got a very nice revelation of Kougami's past.

On a side note, I like very much the idea of such an utopia relying on latent criminals to hunt down other criminals better. It's somewhat dark in the same time. I can somewhat relate it to Code: Breaker.

Some 'evidences' kind of had a gaping hole in them or seemed like they were based entirely on theoretical conclusions. Nevertheless, the episode was interesting and that last revelation had my brows raised high.

Expected Shinya to be that brooding, moody, bad-ass type but he's actually a pretty nice person who has a serious stride and a hinted glint of extreme violence. A highly intriguing character.

Interesting, that Gino and Kougami were partners, though it makes some sense in hindsight. Gino has deferred multiple times to Kougami and his insight into criminals.

I really love the plot this series is starting to flesh out. And now I have more answers to my questions. It seems that Kougami (if I am thinking of the right name) must have been on a case that he never solved, when he was demoted to Enforcer. I'm assuming that is what his "unfinished business" was that he mentioned in a previous episode. And I am so god damn thankful that Akane is actually developing, and won't stay naive forever, it seems. And the OP seems to imply that her own psycho pass will become cloudy from all this, and she will go against the government somehow, and more so against Kougami.

Another thing I like about this series is that it doesn't stall or seem to progress slowly. It has a constant pace and constant development.

Kougami was again able to figure out the culprit using his skills. The white haired guy seems to be the mastermind behind these schemes and I can’t wait to see what his motives are. I don’t think it’ll just be him being evil but in some twisted way he believes he is doing the right thing.

That ending – wow! So Kougami was so devoted to the investigation that it was affecting his health and that’s why he was demoted to enforcer. He is undoubtedly my favorite character right now but all of the characters balance well with each other. I can’t remember the last time I was this excited about all of the characters of an action series.

Firstly, like some said, they assume that he's working alone.

Killing based on assumption is still stupid, granted they have all been taught (brainwashed) to always follow the Dominator's commands it seems.

ShoutaAzuma said:

Secondly, capturing him alive and getting him to talk won't work for a psychopath, since at his current state of mind, his mind has already gone out of control and almost impossible to provide rehab, thanks to Makishima.

Even if that was the case it sure would not hurt trying first.

I didn't expect Shinya to be an ex-inspector, Gino's partner too! Must have been bad, I wonder if that case meant the unfinished business Shinya talked about before?

Or maybe the case was what happened in the first episode? Nonetheless it didn't really surprise me in the end!

I enjoyed this episode!

I think Masaoka brought up something interesting. The internet can bring people together, but it also divides them. Not being able to see each other's reactions in person makes it easy for anons especially to tear into people.

Also agree with what Shih said about idols.

Wow, so Kougami used to be an Inspector - and I'm assuming Ginoza's partner. Wonder if it's habit for him to call him 'Gino'.

Should be interesting to find out what happened on that case.

I adored how they worked it all out and tracked him down, it got me all psyched up if you'll excuse the pun. Can't help but feel they should've paralysed the guy and tortured him and got him to spill everything and then kill him but oh well. Kogami's background was interesting.

Psycho-Pass is an anime that could potentially give much more, being the main plot is not entirely bad and not entirely predictable. but one thing I hate is when graphically animated series are shattered by superficial narratives and characters that show some stupidity, Add to this today also a work of IG production is not completely flawless.
The drawings show a quality ... as if no! : P
Even the animations are not what you would expect from that company, I will give you the benefit of the doubt if I give him a vote so low! ^ ^ "
Unique MC series proves Kogami Masaoka and the rest, including Akane live for now reflected light! A big mistake for me! D:

amazing episode :D

Kougami smart as always, he seems to really know how a criminal works

damn so in the future, everyone will hide to their avatars and proxies in virtual world? reminds me of Ghost in the Shell and Deus Ex series ^^

really love the music in this series, love the techno beat. it comes slow then suddenly get's faster and faster!

Masaoka with that badass flame breath!!

btw did anyone notice how the Melancholia avatar look ALOT like Rockman/Megaman? :P

man they really destroyed Midou like that, i kinda wish they just captured him and interrogate(or possible torture him) since he might know a few things about his boss or something.

so Kougami was Ginzo's partner huh? yeah i also thought it was Masaoka at first since they alwayd have a dispute with each other.

can't wait for the next episode ^^

So Shinya was an ex-inspector. I guess the white-haired guy is related to that case 102. When he say that he got too close to the executor, maybe he falled in love with one of them and she got killed.

Another amazingly good episode. They just keep getting better. Plot twist at the end threw me for a loop, but looking back on it, there was a good amount of forshadowing. I suspect that that case has something to do with the antagonist and the girl in the picture on Shinya's wall. Wasn't expecting this particular plotline to come to a close so quickly. We really saw the full extent of Shinya's intuition this episode, knowing that Spooky was a different person so quickly, and figuring out how to find the culprit equally quickly. The entire action scene at the end was brilliant, loved the holo-room hack and how they fixed it. And i love that Masoaka uses booze to make his analogy ;) That explosion did look a little too big to survive without a scratch though... and this episode did leave me wondering if enforcers have the ability to manually set their dominators on paralyze, because killing this guy seemed a little reckless when he was the only link to the case that they had. Someone in this thread did mention that they probably thought he was working alone here though and i suppose that makes sense.

The one thing that this series is missing so far is any development on two members of the team, so much so that i do not even know either of their names. (Black hair chick and orange hair dude) But I suppose that they were not important to the current arc and trying to fit in more character development before now might have screwed up the pacing. And nevertheless, It's becoming one of my favorite shows. This episode bumped it up to a 10, i really hope it can maintain this level of quality.

Woah, Kogami was actually a former inspector and used to be Gino's partner! Too bad his crime coefficient got higher while solving an unsolved case. That's why...

Dude, you dropped your arm.

Sibyl doesn't solve crimes. It eliminates threats. The system doesn't consider information gathering to be useful because it's based on a system that assumes conspiracies are not possible because everyone is monitored and would be detected. Result: "lethal eliminator"

You'd know who he was talking to if you questioned him instead of killing him....

Since Akane apparently scored so highly on all those tests shouldn't she be smart? or useful in any way? or no literally anything about her job?

She's essentially nothing but a mouthpiece through which the writers can explain stuff.
