Shit has been going down this episode and Junpei's story has reached a new level of tragic. How Mahito is playing him is absolutely wicked.

shit bro, Yoshino not catching any breaks good god. Feels real bad for him, as if it wasn't bad enough, he's gotten caught in the Jujutsu sorcery world and is being used like a puppet. Mahito and the other sorcerer using a whole yubi for this situation is interesting, as well as offing Yoshino's mom which i guess would be the catalyst for him to snap, but still i felt like killing her after seeing her for only 5 mins, kinda shits on the reason and just boils it down to shock value of sorts.

Shit's about to go down though, Itadori arriving on time and Yoshino's seems to have developed a curse technique at quite a rapid rate? One hand i want him to off the guy he's currently close to ending, but on the other i feel like if he does he'll be going over the point of no return. Wonder how this'll play out.

Damn...Mahito you double faced bastard!!

Junpei's mom was so friendly. She didn't deserved to die.

It's like what Nanami said. You're just a kid Mahito.

To delude oneself by saying that people don't have hearts allows one to gain strength, but to use that strength and resolve to kill others, it would taint one's soul, one's heart. Quite a dilemma here.

Welp Yuuji just became friends with Junpei, all those movies are bound to have some old horror movies in them and they served Yuuji well to get closer to Junpei. Well, so close in fact that they hung out together eating dinner and watching a movie. Junpei's mom made the atmosphere between the 2 guys all the more relaxing. What a nice wholesome night together.

OR SO YOU THOUGHT! BUT THIS AIN'T A SLICE OF LIFE SHOW!!! Boom! Someone planted one of Sukuna's finger in Junpei's home and now his mom is missing her lower half! What a night!

This event, coupled with Mahito's eager encouragement and Junpei's already shaky morality, brings forth the embodiment of 'the quiet kid'. Instead of gunning the school down, he curses the school and terrorizes the smartass bully that used to torment him.

Honestly, I'm quite saddened that it has come to this, their plan worked and now both Junpei and Yuuji have to face against one another, despite being close friends the night before. The pacing felt really off here, I know it's just 1 night but it felt like 1 minute with how quickly transitioned from dinner together to dying together.

Now that I think about it, Nanami's cursed technique sounds a lot like Mystic Eyes of Death Perception from Kara no Kyoukai/Tsukihime. The fight's animation was splendid as usual. Nothing much to say here.

MILF down... this is unforgivable. Yoshino's down bad. Poor guy. He finally got his Carrie moment at the end of the episode. Also his cursed technique looks like a jellyfish(?). That is good. I like jellyfishes.

Pacing's a little too fast I have to say. They just met, had some dinner together and then boom they've become Naruto and Sasuke just like that. I hope they don't make their relationship more than it should be because I honestly didn't feel a connection/attachment at all due to how fast things were going.

Episode felt rushed since the moment Itadori went to Junpei's house to eat. Very fast paced in my opinion, even the ending felt like it was out of the blue how they met at the school and will probably face each other in a battle.
Anyways this show is way better than My Hero Academia, Demon slayer and Fire Force season1, enjoying it so far.

Can't believe they killed Junpei's mom especially after Junpei and Yuji seemingly getting along quite well but then I remember this is not your typical shounen.
All weebs creatures of the galaxy, hear this message. Those of you who listen will not be struck by western animation. You will no longer know hunger, nor pain. Your Anime have come to lead you now. Our strength shall serve as a luminous sun toward which all intelligence may blossom. And the impervious shelter beneath which you will prosper. I know this is some real r/im14andthisisdeep shit, but every now and then a show strikes me with some obvious insight and it feels so profound; that was me when Yuuji talked about how, once he kills someone for the first time, it will inevitably lead to him blurring the integrity of life. I don't know if that's the "slippery slope" fallacy at work, but it's a strong argument, the crux of which can easily be divorced from Yuuji's context. And it's something I never think about. Brilliant stuff. Like always, I love this script.

As some sort of pseudo-cinephile all the film references in this show make me giddy.

Came here to say this. I think very few shonens where the MC doesn't want to kill actually give a good reason for this ideal, it usually ends up sounding like wishy washy naive BS. This series actually justified it very well, I can totally understand the MC's fear. This makes what happens in the next episodes all the more heartbreaking...

Doesn’t necessarily apply to this particular episode, but just in general my only two real minor nitpicks are that while I guess it has kind of funny, the humour is out of place sometimes and even a bit too excessive- for my own taste. That and it also feels like we’re jumping around a bit, we move from scene to scene without the smoothest of transitions and it perhaps feels like we skipped an in between scene. But that’s pretty much it. I’m really liking this so far. Damn good animation for a solid shounen. Nothing really else to complain about here, any criticism I think will just end up as being something to do with personal taste.

Oh and I like itadori’s reason for not wanting to kill. A short explanation but deeper than your typical self righteous shounen mc.

The whole thing with Junpei's mom and his subsequent attack on the school makes sense logically, but it all feels too rushed to emotionally captivate and I'm kind of left watching just like "okay". It's such a huge clash from Junpei going "I guess I can't kill anyone" to this and even though I know the instigator of his mother's death makes sense, we've spent so little time with her and them together that it left me pretty emotionally divorced from the proceedings.

Beyond that, I really enjoyed how Itadori's training was just a funny way of training. I thought it was a very clever way to establish a connection between him and Junpei so suddenly that felt pretty natural. As another person who dives too deeply into media, I can totally relate to Junpei's opening up at the chance to talk about why one movie is superior to the other.

so i've noticed Nanami uses pacts often (so far), how come everyone doesn't use them? wouldn't it be quite easy to set up pacts that will situationally increase your power? also it really reminds me of something similar in HxH but i forget the exact naming of it

aww i liked Junpei's mom, but i still can't warm up to Junpei. his type of characters are always my least favorite. edgy losers with stupid whiney voices and leather jackets

Refreshing to see Yuuji and Junpei in good terms they're almost like brothers when they talk about their interest to be specific in movies

Junpei's mom steps in and she seems nice and invited Yuuji for dinner, Damn the three just gets along and they're like a happy family at least at the moment, Yuuji and Junpei's bonding leans forward to positive things compared to Mahito and Junpei's their topic are creepy

This is bad now Junpei's on his way to take his revenge for his mother the manipulation is on and Yuuji steps in and this can go to a dispute against each other.

Now this episode shows you can't save a bad script not matter how flashy you make the action scene, all this build-up of how badass Nanami is for what? To attack an enemy he is not going to defeat and tell the audience this enemy has to be defeated before it gets stronger like it's some amazing deduction, thankfully he has some nice words for Itadori, otherwise there is nothing good to say about him.
Of course Junpei's mom, who was so nice, so hot, died the same day Junpei made "a friend" did she knew her kid was getting bullied? Who cares! If the show can't make clear if the teacher knew why whoud be any investment for a character that is just here to die so now her boring, and quite dumb, son can go down the path of darkness so his conversation with Itadori can be referenced later because it's the moment for Itadori to face "his friend" and get some moral conflict. Itadori's reason for not wanting to kill just seem like some variation of "if I kill once I might turn into a mass murderer ;p"
I did find funny that the bad guys plan is something that already happened but they don't know it, lol.

Took me this many episodes to get into the story. I enjoy the premise and characters so I'm not sure why. Seems to be kicking up a lot now, though.

Hah, poor Ijichi freaking out and referring to Nanami as the "adult of adults."

Mahito has so much power how would anyone even kill him? He's so messed up, wtf?

I hope Itadori saves Junpei from hurting anyone.

It's sad that we couldn't see more of Nanami power, because the build up from last episode made me really curious how the fight would continue. But saying that I'm also somewhat glad he didn't fight Mahito anymore. Over a longer period of time I don't see Nanami winning this. And one thing is sure, they have to exorcise him quickly before things get out of hand. Most likely is Gojou the only one who's able to do it.

Seems like Junpei and Itadori getting along very well. Both of them like movies and Itadori had to watch a shit ton of movies in the last month. Junpei's mom was pretty funny. Sad and cruel the way she was killed. With one the Sukuna fingers on the table it was very likely Mahito and Getou had something to do with it.

Let's see if Itadori is able to stop the fully enraged Junpei.
