An interesting episode, mainly because the plot was moving forward. Now I wonder when shall the something residing inside of Yuji be revealed. All we know now is that that something is supposed to be Bal Masque's Commander who was apparently missing for some time, according to his subordinates. This explains why Yuji now has apparently two different voices he uses.

Very interesting. Now I see why those who read the novels tend to bash the anime adaptations a lot. Those sound like very important plot details to me. If they cut those out, no wonder we're having a boatload of issues now.

We eventually got the see Sydonay's eye! His eye!

And it's probably coincidence, but the last sentence "I'll believe" of the ending is the same as the last sentence of the second ending of the second season.

This episode is lots better than the first episode. It also seems like that Kazumi's role will be only smaller from now on and that she will only get further away from Yuuji. I was surprised at the end when Yuuji suddenly appeared, but I'm thinking it's a tomogara that's faking his existence because of the detection Satou did.

*shrugs*Can't be helped. This happens when J.C. ignores something as simple as a mysterious voice talking to Yuuji for 2 seasons!!! Yes, that voice from episode 1 was meant to talk and converse with Yuuji for a bigger period of time. Also they turned SHana 2 into a "who will Yuuji pick !" rather than show several parts where Yuuji worries for Shana. From the very start of the novels Yuuji has been obsessed with Shana and her insistence on how she was nothing but a tool for killing Tomogara.

That's one hell of an important plot detail! I can't even remember a voice in episode 1. Stupid vizmedia should release the other novels too.

Thanks for that, it puts things into perspective. I realized the guy agreed to share his body but i was wondering from where did that guy came up. The question is, if his voice was there talking to Yuji how did he get there? I thought only Johan, the keeper and that silver thing was there. Who is he? The keeper or the silver thing? Was there a 4th guy?
And yeah his goal seemed to be to change the way Guze no Tomogara and Flame Haze live. It seemed like he wanted to change things but seeing the first two seasons no such anguish seemed to be there so your post was helpful.

Looks like Bal Masque has recovered nicely. They still have a healthy stable of freaks ready and waiting. And I suppose that angry Hercules beetle dude with be an interesting opponent for the good guys.

I still maintain that Yuji with a pencil mustache equals unstoppable god of destruction and sex.

Oh, I'm starting to catch on now. So Yuji wasn't actually the Lord of the Denizens. So, who's that guy exactly? Looking forward to the next!

Well, at least now i'm not AS confused as when i watched the first episode. Like many say, the first episode should've been the last for season 2, instead of deceiving us thinking it was a happy ending. -.- Anyways, it seems like Yuuji's sharing his body with someone else (the leader of Bal Masque). And it seems that the leader has always been their commander, just that he disappeared for awhile and is finally back to start their plans. I don't really get why at the end Yuuji looks like.. yuuji again, and why Satou's tomogara bookmark thing lit up, since they clearly stated that the commander/yuuji is still just a mystes.

Anywho, looks like Yuuji who wants to change Shana's and other flame haze's lives agreed to walk the same path and whoever he had that conversation with in episode 1. Which is kind of sudden, but according to what other people have said, seems like the person who has the conversation with Yuuji was supposed to happen in season 2 as well. So kinda explains lol. I'm just glad that this season will finally be rid of Kazumi (kind of) unlike season 2 where she keeps popping up in unnecessary scenes. -_-

wtf? Yuji appears again? But i thought that other guy was yuji. Wtf is going on. I am so confused right now, just like last episode, this episode seemed to go by really fast. I honestly think they are rushing this season. But i hope all the answers are resolved.

Anyways, i like whole the new atmosphere that the show has taken, its much more dark and we finally learn more bout the tomagara and Serie den and the evil yuji is as bad ass ever of course. The one flame haze that appeared at the start of the episode was wiped out just way to fast though. In any case, now im really interested to see how yuji was able to come back. Then that one guy finally returns, and also some one else calls out to him. Also the evil yuji, what the hell happen to him and who is it that is speaking to him, is that silver? I am so confused right now, to much stuff is happening at once.

Did anyone else notice that when sakai's charm lit up, it detected a tomagara, but it was on the other train. Then the moment yuji stepped off the train, could it be that yuji is a tomagara now? Just a theory.

Either way, great cliff hanger. Can't wait for next episode.

Woah, we're getting introduced to a metric ton of characters this episode!

My favorite part was when Bel-Peol blushed. So she has a cute side to her as well ^^

On a side note, that crazy professor doesn't know how to shut up does he? xD

All that situation is really underwelming but interresting at the same time. It look like Yuuji and what I guess is the Silver denizen are both in the same body and seem to share the same goal. It also look like he can shift is body to Yuuji apparence and what I guess again is the Silver Tomogara.

It's hard to think that someone so much attached to the Flame Hazes and to the human is now the leader of a group that does not give a fuck about them. Also, I guess that he's the one that ordered the purge of the Shangai Outlaw QG. If he have good intention, it look like a very pragmatic way of processeding. Kinda remind me of Lelouch who wouldn't hesitate to bring his action to the extreme.

I didn't really understood why the sister told Shana to ''stop lying to herself and start being one'', does what she mean by that is to stop always thinking that she dependant from her entourage and believe in herself? I'm not sure...

Yuuji casually coming in his hometown not giving a fuck :P
I guess he won't be sweet with Shana. Maybe, I say maybe, what he will try to do is to slowly sabotate the Bal Masqué from the interior and trying to put as much as Flame Hazes prossible, including Shana, so angry toward him that she would have no choice but to kill him. In that way, the whole organisation of the Bal Masqué would be annihilated and the Flame Hazes work would probably be so lesser that they could consider living a normal life. I'm only throwing hypothesis, I don't get a shit of what's going on x)
But it's just that I don't think that the Silver denizen is truly evil or a vilain. Maybe, a bit as Alastor, he's a neutral guy or someone that don't really consider one group more important than the other. He doesn't seem as zealot as a lot of other Tomogara.

"Yuji" became the leader of the army of Tomogara, quite the force he has there.

Makes me really exited for more.

This is confusing as fuck. We never asked for this. Noone ever wanted this hi-fantasy bullshit with Yuuji 'somehow' letting himself into a pact with the former leader of Bal Masque (which was never explained and even mentioned before doesn't really make any sense). I mean, Silver/Gin but how? And their willingness to obey without much asking was also way too plot-convenient.

I feel like knowing the first part of the story, cutting the middle and going straight to the endgame, wished there was more darker stories like the one with Oogami Junko in Shana S instead of this, this is just big nonsensical mess that doesn't work alone, without proper exposition. Right know, we are watching new character we don't know doing thing we don't really care about. And seeing annoying Dantalion creating another one of his stupid plans was just ridiculous...

The only interesting part was the bit on the train with Satou.. and the moment when Lamis appeared again (I believe everyone had already forgotten he gave that protective hougu to Yoshida in pursuite of his goals).

I really hope they will explain everything the next time...

The commander has a different voice than Yuji. It may be that the real commander and Yuji somehow coexist just like how flame hazes coexist with their respective Kings of Guze.
So many new Tomogara are introduced it is hard to keep up. The events happen a bit fast too. Maybe this season is a bit rushed. But I hear this season is the most faithful to the LNs. That's a good thing.

I understand what's going on. However, I'm still curious why Yuuji suddenly decided to surrender his body to the enemy, when Shana and the others have been working so hard to prevent that from happening. I wish they showed indications of that happening at the end of S2. These events happened so abruptly that it feels like I missed out on several eps.

I'm excited to revisit Season 3.
Very solid set-up episode. Not all explanations are there yet, but this episode helps us understand what's going on with Yuji.
