I was looking forward to the new season of oshi no ko , although the opening and ending song doesn't compare with the idol song but i believe the season will go very well.

Definitly not was what I expected, Kadokawa took a lot of good manga/LN as Classroom too, but I hope the anime got better.

At least is not bad, just not good as it was the first season.

What a first episode. Opening goes hard as hell. On same level as Idol. Doga Kobo once again bringing stellar sakuga animation, I kneel. Himekawa ๐Ÿ was done masterfully. Especially Kana and Himekawa's script fight sequence. Love the beginning, bringing you into the audience. The entire adaptation really brings the manga to life. This is my favorite arc in the manga with a LOT of great moments, and I know they will be done justice. Ending is good but ain't Mephisto level, though visuals are nice as always. But overall explosive start to an amazing arc.

We are so back.

everything chill for the first episode, just happy to have the anime back <3
though i'm super eager for the real investigation on ai to begin
the mangaka pretty much saying that the script was trash was funny xD

As has been mentioned, we are so fucking back.

Extremely strong start to the season imo; I personally like that this felt like a direct continuation of S1 rather than a new start. As an anime-only, I'm really excited to see where things go from here, especially with the ending of the episode. Being a writer myself, having someone else scrawl all over your work just for the sake of an adaptation would be the worst, so it's both amusing and intriguing to me to see the original creator of the series essentially tell the screenwriter he sucks at his job lol

6 hours after the release and this forum isn't as stuffed as the discussion page of ep. 1 of the first season, where has the hype gone?
No tomo malas decisiones, solo me gusta apoyar causas perdidas.
Disfruté Mayoiga, Ou-sama Game, Evil or Live, Mirai Nikki, Big Order, Arifureta, Ex-Arm, Tesla Note, Shuumatsu no Harem y Platinum End
nope les falle con esa, lo siento pero todos tenemos nuestros límites.
Así de jodido es mi gusto en anime, ¡Y estoy pinche orgulloso de ello!

@el_morris To be fair, this premiere has been more... normal. The premiere in season 1 had so much going on, from the length of the episode to what all took place, all the way to the ending of the episode itself. This one doesn't actually have as much to talk about in comparison. Plus it has been some time too. Don't imagine the amount of discussion to be close to season 1 levels but with episodes that should have more intense, climactic stuff going on will gain more traction as a result.

WE ARE SO BACK!!!
Aqua being isolated is not a new thing , he likes to be alone.
Akane Chan is too cute when she's jealous or angry ๐Ÿ˜ I love her the way she is..
seems like we've got a quite Savage author to modify every bit of script or rather let's say manga. ๐Ÿ˜†

Her pout is too precious! Seriously, Aqua x Akane ship 4 ever. ๐Ÿ˜„

On the other hand, the OP & ED are okay (not as good as how they were in the prequel) but I'm here to continue watching for the story instead.

Not only that, but just the simple fact that not everyone is ready to watch the first episode of season 2, since they haven't watched season 1.

But yeah, it's mostly because the first "episode" of season 1 was so unique in comparison to any other anime. Literally a movie premiere of a prologue, with some of the most shocking content in the whole series. Of course it was going to have way more discussion.

this is the first show i'm watching this season and i'm already more interested than i was all throughout spring. doga kobo back with another banger of an adaptation of the best arc in the manga. visuals directing were so good and i'm glad to see more of arima and akane animated. hyped to see the rest of this.
the one and only thing i didn't like, i thought they spoiled a bunch in the visuals of the opening. although they did kind of already talk about the play in the opening scene before the op, so i guess it's fine.

Yay! What a great way to start off the 4th of July.
The Oshi no Ko is real.

I love how the first 3 mins of the episode introduced to us the cast of tokyo blade in 2.5D play stadium. Now that is freaking awesome!
Hearing the shamisen instrumental playing in the background gave me eargasms. that was glorious.

Tokyo Blade's author looks like Ai's illegitimate daughter.

OK start, I guess? Kana and Himekawa rehearsing together was the highlight of the episode while everything else felt pretty meh. Though being honest, this comes from a guy who thinks most of S1 was uninteresting asf.

@Alzeana Feel like one other issue is that the prologue was something so different and mindblowing for many that it set very high expectations and the rest of the series hasnt quite lived up to the level of buzz that the premiere earned it. This premiere be feelin more like a middle of a season ep than anything like the premiere for s1 so it doesnt have that level of buzz going with it as result. Among people i know, some talked about the opening looking good than the actual premiere whereas many more I knew were locked in with the premiere of s1 very quickly, whole thing.

@Alzeana That is a factor too obviously, but it is also clear that the actual events taking place are a bit more subdued for the time being. It was just showing practice and rehearsals with some parts looking a bit cool like the Kana and Taiki serious mode rehearsal scene there. Once there is stuff that is striking like the actual play being shown or any serious, complex topics that encourage a lot of discussion like with the Akane stuff from season 1, more engagement and discussions can take place there too. Just needs some time to settle itself in again given that there is no 90 minute Ai-focused hook of an episode to rely on this time around.

Season 2 ep 1 is here! Studio Doga Kobo's animation is very fine, sharp & beautiful.

We got to know more about adaptations not following the source material. Akane-san was not happy about it. And THE AUTHOR'S COURAGE TO SAY REVISE THE WHOLE SCRIPT. DAMN.๐Ÿ˜

This really slapping hard those TV dramas, stage plays, anime etc... not following the source material.

Fans of the source material being disappointed. Especially the author itself.

I bet some authors are laughing rn.

OP visuals was definitely amazing. And the song too. (but not my type of song).

But I love the ED song more. I guess I just really love bitter and cold songs haha. The singer was Hitsujibungaku the same from Jujutsu Kaisen.
Oppai check!

Those who gather at this site are probably aware that there are countless examples of video works and stage plays developed as franchises of manga and novels that have been drastically altered without respecting the original works.
Watching this episode of «Oshi-no Ko», many Japanese viewers cannot help but recall the case concerning the production of the TV drama series "Sexy Tanaka-san", once again. *
It is definitely clear from the timeline of the publication of the original manga episodes of «Oshi-no Ko» that these events were coincidental. However, it was so tragic that it has become a major social issue in Japan, including among those who do or do not read manga or light novels. **

The pictures are highly intriguing in their pursuit of expressions that cannot be achieved in static manga.
It must be difficult to impress the audience with rehearsal scenes in front of the plain background, but the composition and layout were so ingenious that I did not feel bored. I commend both the storyboard artist and layout designer for doing a dependable fundamental job.
I enjoyed guessing who would bear the hardship of the subsequent season's theme songs. The presented songs are so wicked but impossible to hate, as expected.

* It was on the air from October through December 2023. The fact that the original manga writer, Hinako Ashihara wrote the script by herself for the final two episodes instead of the scriptwriter. The SNS posts from both sides disclosing the background regarding this matter. And the sudden death of Ashihara in February (her note has been found).

** Some criticize that the resolution of communication problems between the original author and the dramatization staff is a behind-the-scenes circumstance, and that the situations are still exacerbated by the fact that the concern among drama viewers and manga/novel fans remains "search for the bad guys" and people hang on to the "meta dramas."

Arguably the most anticipated sequel of the season returns!

- The episode's opening two minutes might have been mistaken as part of total different series.

- The visuals for the OP were good, felt appropriate for this season. In terms of the song, "Idol" simply set the bar way too high. While "Mephisto" wasn't as popular as "Idol", I still prefer it over "Burning".

- Love the metacommentary aspect of the episode.

- Akane's monologue at the 16 minute mark is so meta. "I got off to a bit of a bad start." When your introduction arc features bullying and a suicide attempt... that is a bad start. Her thoughts on Princess Saya sounds very concerning if you're shipping Aqua x Akane. "She's what people call a failed love interest." Ouch. Her character of Saya getting overshadowed by Tsurugi feels like a not so subtle reference to Kana's popularity among the ONK fanbase.

It was a decent episode.

I'm honestly not fond of the opening and ending songs, they look unfit to the overall story of this series. The previous theme songs were much more of a banger.

Akane is much more vibrant in this...
Aqua is always Aqua
Kana will aways be Kana.
Where's Ruby?

Honestly, they should really fire the director for being a stuck-up snob towards Akane. He should be replaced!!!
And what's this "too long, so you replace it with something awful just to get within the time limit" crap?! Such disgusting concepts.

Thankfully, the author has a backbone.
They'd really be like that instead of using their story to a crappy adaptation.
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

OnK back with a new season adapting one of the best arc in the entire series. The tokyo blade stage play and we got right into it without any sort of distractions. Doga Kobo doing great once again, that scene with Himekawa and Kana looked so good. Loved watching Akane, that pout, so cute. That end scene, Abiko strikes. Really like her character though.

This arc gonna reopen the old act age wound again. Not that it ever healed. This is what it could have been if it got an anime. That said super hyped for the stage play. OP/ED were so so, s1 ones were way better.

Probably my least favourite arc from the manga (not too into the whole stage play thing myself), but it’s still really good overall and I suppose we have to do this in order to get to all of the really good reveals later on. So long as they continue adapting it well, I expect this season to maintain a firm 8/10 rating.

I really enjoyed the first episode! It felt a bit rushed personally, but maybe that's because I ended up reading the manga and getting used to the pace of the story there.

Love how the manga characters are drawn, absolute eyecandy, would 100% read a manga spin-off of Tokyo Blade if mangaka ever thinks of pursuing it.

LOVE seeing Arima being stimulated and in her element. That scene where she starts sparring with the MC of the 2.5d play was really cool with how his acting helped add more of each of their respective role's "character" through the use of colour. It was pretty smart for the theatre company to take this project on and give their permanent members a breath of fresh air via new interactions and dynamics.

BEYOND elated to see Abiko in action, I didn't expect her hair to be purple! Pleasant surprise. She's so pretty ;u;

One of the most incredible arcs of Oshi no Ko has begun, I'm really looking forward to the development of the script that will be in the next episode and then of course the show itself, the scenes are as always incredible, the opening is beautiful and the ending is also the beginning of the The play with the presentation of the characters was incredible, this episode was the slowest because with the new script the preparation really begins, I'm too early for this arc and for the next one as well, which they will adapt in this season, which should end with the climax. from Ruby.
