DAAAAAAMN, one of the three people that remembers medaka box and chibi vampire karin. Jokes aside, chibi vampire is just a good romcom manga that touches that sweet spot, I hadn't read anything about grand blue since 3 years ago or maybe more (?).

Youjo senki is pure action and I lked that, nothing deep, only violence. Kaiji is one of the best deathgames ever with a beautiful soundtrack. Sousei is my first manga and one of the first anime I watched therefore it accompanied me from its release to his end, all along from teenage years to adulthood. Tokyo Ghoul rocks, and everytime I read it again it's just as good as the first time. Yofukashi no uta is pretty cool, emotional fights, a good mood, good comedy, depressed people going around in the night, yeah. And Vinland saga is peak, just peak, season 1 is peak, I think that s2 is peak too but many got bored in s2.

Cool to know that we have a similar taste, I saw that you have few friends on MAL and I know none of them, may I ask how did you find my profile?
Inkroxx Jan 17, 8:33 PM
Pretty accurate of you when you say that sometimes media can be a really big part of what makes us, most part of my favorites are there for that reason, sometimes for their meaning to me, their impact to me, or if I associate the anime with a very happy moment of my life.

Wowzers, I do too use MyAnimeList just to keep on track statistics about what I saw or read, but also to seek recommendations cus I have somewhat an specific taste of things, however, I started my journey on MAL thanks to a friend of mine with the purpose of rating animu as the elitists we were at the time, giving so much importance to valueless numbers that didn't quite reflect our opinions on something. I also watched too many anime before starting here, hell, I remember using all my brain power to remember everything I watched (and it worked) and my anime list ended having about 1200 completed anime, but reflecting on that, I left out everything I do not remember, very short anime, PVs, a lot of movies. OVAs, etc.

I mean, I was farming numbers and justifying my tastes to a random circlejerk of elitists instead of enjoying what I liked xD

Inkroxx got me thinking about my favorites lists & all these little "diary" comments, and that somehow reminded me of Tsurezure Children.

I need to go back and read that manga. It was some of the most diabetes-inducing stuff I've ever read.

I changed my pfp back to Monika's Core.

I love Yugame, and I liked how the "greedy pfp" looked in the big picture on my profile page, but it looked kinda shitty in all the smaller pictures.

Based suicide girl and jitsu wa watashi wa enjoyer.
Thx for the friend request.

PD: I think that your unique favorite order it´s pretty dope, speaks more about yourself than bold and common numbers that elitist like to use, also, you use your profile in sorta a diary(?), awesome too

Here's another favorite of mine, which just recently got its own MAL page: https://myanimelist.net/manga/170041/Overgeared

Not sure where to fit it in on my favorite reading list, but it belongs on there.

The Frieren anime taught me something: for most series, I'll simply always prefer reading the manga, no matter how good its anime adaptation is.
The anime is pretty much perfect, but I stopped watching it pretty early, since I just enjoyed the manga experience more (in addition to the manga obviously being way further ahead)

For some other series, like Dandadan, Kaguya-sama, or Interspecies Reviewers, I actually prefer the anime, but there aren't many series like that. Most of my favorite anime simply come from me not having read the source material. For example, Honzuki no Gekokujou would be in my favorite anime list, except that I read the light novel and liked it way more.
Oshi no Ko is a unique case for me, since I actually like it and the manga in different ways. There are certain parts in both the anime and the manga that I like the execution better than in the other, and I think you actually have to witness both for the full experience.

i would put Yugame Hizumi from Suicide Girl in my favorite characters list, except the list kinda functions as an extra "favorite series list" as a secondary feature to showing some of my favorite characters, which is why there isn't any overlap.

Otherwise, some characters like Frieren, Akane Kurokawa, or Roxy Migurdia would be there.

I have VT Legend in my favorites because
1) I really like it, almost enough to put it in my favorites, purely on its own merits, and
2) it represents my love of vtubers for the past 4 years, and it encapsulates the things I like about vtubing.

I just saw that the ending oneshot of Fujimi Lovers already came out.

I can't wait to be able to read it.

(It's free, btw. You can read it in Japanese here: https://pocket.shonenmagazine.com/episode/2550689798515762383)

Well, it's not like my "favorite manga list" is even really that accurate, anyways. Oshi no Ko, Frieren, and Kaguya-sama aren't on there, since I have them in my favorite anime list, and a lot of my "favorite characters" are also stand-ins for my "favorite manga (and novels)", like Kumo Desu Ga, Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear, Mieruko-chan, Otome Kaijuu Caramelizer, Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete, and even (kinda) 100 Girlfriends.

I'm not sure where I can fit "SSS-Class Revival Hunter" in my "favorite manga list" but it probably deserves a spot on it, somewhere?

Honestly, it's hard to compare the "favoriteness level" of all these different stories, especially because I have forgotten many of the feelings I had when reading many of them, even if I haven't forgotten the things I read.

Anyways, if you're (somehow) reading this, you should read (atleast) the first 102 chapters of the SSS-class Revival Hunter manhwa. It's so good.

Summertime render is almost the perfect representation of what I like about fictional settings
Alzeana May 3, 2024 1:53 PM
Btw, my favorites are sorted in the order of when I first read/watched them, not in order of favoritism or anything.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
