“don’t cry because its over, be happy that it happened.” This is the perfect quote to summarize my emotions right now, after years of happiness, pain, regrets, and everything in between, it’s finally over. Shit man, I’m holding back so many tears rn, to call this show a masterpiece is an understatement. I absolutely LOVED time skip kumiko, I always predicted that she would become a teacher, Kitauji is too special for her to let go just yet, and i cant blame her. This is easily my favorite anime series of all time, the life lessons it has taught me has changed me for life, and i cant thank this show enough. I really hope that this isn’t the end (although it most likely is) I would still love a spin-off with kumiko’s new life. But if this is the end, to all the staff and people who worked on this project, thank you, for creating this life changing masterpiece.

For the last time, Kitauji Fighto!!!

this anime ending feels like k-on's one, with that void of something important leaving you, even thought it didn't like the previous episode ending i'm sure it's better this way, now we're not going to get anymore hibike euphonium, dam man this is so sad, but this was one of the best show i've ever watched

Insane rush. It feels like they can't wait to wrap this up and be done with it lmao.

I think the biggest crime about this series is how they built a very strong foundation with Kumiko as a kouhai in the first two seasons but then everyone graduated and it just stopped right there. They severely underdevelop the new characters and Kumiko's perspective as a senpai. Her relationship with Kanade is just a drop in the ocean when compared to her complex relationship with Asuka.

Anyway, episode 12 is still the highlight for me this season due to the sheer amount of character progression.

And the next piece script begins.
Truth is absolute but human perception of truth is always relative.

The combination of finally hearing their performance of Sound Euphonium (and hearing a performance this season) and the emotions has me in full out tears. I was crying and laughing like I was in the band. Becoming this emotional so unlike me. My only regret is that Shuuichi never told Kumiko how he felt.

It honestly hasn't really hit me yet but the day I have dreaded for the past 9 years has actually come. The day where the journey of the best protagonist of all time has well and truly reached its conclusion.
This show has done so much for me and I will continue to carry all the feelings that KyoAni has put into Hibike and expressed through it deep within my heart.

Okay, that was....a lot. In a lot of ways, I'm still trying to process all of this. I feel...empty. It's really over, huh? I still feel we needed a few more episodes. I wanted to see more of these characters, like what did they do after winning? Ahh man. Still in a bit of a shock. I'm going to miss this so much.

My only real complaint is that I don't understand why they felt the need to alter the source material here and not give Kumiko the soli. It felt completely pointless to alter.

GREAT ENDING, as usual I really like how KyoAni ends an anime, really satisfied with this ending, I cried when the concert started until the end of the ending song lol.

one thing that makes me a little disappointed is that I didn't see Asuka or Kumiko's Sis/Parents or was I just not paying attention? idk. but on the other hand, I am very satisfied with this final episode.

wow it turns out Shuuichi kept the promise Kumiko made, thankful he didn't fumble it. Kumiko being a teacher is just what I thought, she's very suitable for the job.

Goodbye Kanade, she's my favorite character in this show. Thank you Hibike Euphonium, Thank you Kumiko and Reina, Thank you Taki Sensei.

It's also finished after a long time, maybe many people are satisfied and vice versa, while I myself might be 50:50. What you need to look at here is Kanade, at the beginning of her appearance in the second season I thought this girl was very annoying but Kanade is now one of my favorite characters after Kumiko and Reina, she really looks cute and sweet when something happens related to Kumiko. personally, I'm quite happy that Kyoani didn't make Kumiko and Shuichi date at the end of the story, this anime really doesn't focus on romantic things in the end even though I'm a little curious about the pin in Kumiko's book, I hope she just keeps it Kumiko doesn't wear it in her hair, which doesn't mean she accepts Shuichi's love, maybe it's just a friendly relationship

about Mayu... I don't know, I'm still a little annoyed with her even though now I don't hate her that much even though I don't like her either. I'm also curious about Reina's confession of love for Taki because at the end of the story it doesn't tell us what the results of the love confession are, but if I can speculate 100% I think Reina will definitely be rejected because Taki really loved his late wife. I don't know in the light novel they become lovers or not but in the anime I think Reina is just wasting her time regarding her feelings for Taki, she's too stubborn 😩

Kumiko is the supervising teacher, great! As many people predicted, Kumiko looks mature and very beautiful, although unfortunately we can't see the adult version of Reina. If I had to give a rating, it would probably be around 7.5/10 for this season
sorry but I think the first season of Hibike Euphonium is still the best for me 😓

@PersiaJuliet23 She does not wear any ring so no, its either that they are now dating or he gave the pin back to Kumiko but they are now good friends and Kumiko cherishes that present.
Its an open end on the romance front and I like that.

The way they handled Mayu's character ruined this season, amazing anime overall that I grew up watching since 2015 and I'll always love, but I'm disappointed with some decisions of this final season, specially episode 12, at least they won gold.

Wow, the tone's really changed around here lol.

Just last episode, a lot of people were pissed at how rushed this season was and how little music it had. Now it's mostly everyone praising the show as a whole, instead of talking about the episode itself. They know how to bait people by reminding them of the whole show leading up to this moment, instead of just this season; nostalgia's a powerful thing and they know how to use it. I like how the flashbacks during the performance were mostly from seasons 1 and 2, reminding you of how good those were, and trying to convince you to forget this season. It worked apparently.

Anyway, the episode itself was fine, it did what it needed to do to wrap up the story. Of course it felt rushed, since the whole season was rushed, but at least we finally got some music for once. Unfortunately I was spoiled about Kumiko becoming a teacher for Kitauji, as the LN readers can't keep it in their pants, but it was still a great thematic ending for the story. I'm excited for the supposed side stories that will hopefully fill in the gaps, because there are still so many questions left.

Don't get me wrong, I also loved the show as a whole. But it's unfortunate that this show peaked at season 2, with a steep decline with the movie and OVAs, then a slight improvement for the final season that never reached the same heights the first two seasons did. I just wished it ended strongly is all.

It's also hilarious that this season currently has a 8.73, way higher than the first two seasons. I expect it to balance out as time goes on, but it really goes to show that they can coast on their much better previous seasons and still get high praise.

Beautiful. Gorgeous. I cried. I laughed. I felt this entire series.

What a nice end to this absolutely insane journey with the Kitauji concert band. I am so very thankful I was able to watch this production.

Kumiko and Natsuki will forever reign queens in my personal favorites. They are sincerely some of the best characters I've spent time getting to know. Genuinely sad that this is the end of the show. My greedy self can only hope for some spin-offs or character specific specials.

GG's! "The next pieces begins..." Someday.

Overall, this was a mostly satisfactory final episode for both this season and the series as a whole. When I saw the episode length, I was so afraid they were actually going to skip the national performance as well, and if that happened, I would have lost it. Fortunately, they don't, and the performance was pretty good. I'm glad they won the gold after all this time. Though, I was perplexed at the lack of Asuka (and Mamiko). That was weird given that everyone else showed up. They could've at least showed her watching from her TV or something.

It was nice to see Kumiko pass down Sound Euphonium to Kanade and Mayu. It was also nice to see Kuniko as a teacher at Kitauji. Kumiko lookin fine as an adult btw. I don't even mind that Kuniko seemingly got together with Shuuichi in the end. The constant yuri baiting in this show regarding Kumiko and Reina had always annoyed me as a yuri fan. But after this season, I'm actually glad they didn't end up together. Because I don't like Reina at all, and I don't think she deserves Kumiko. I've never cared that much for Shuuichi (Kyoani clearly didn't either) but he's a better choice for Kumiko. He was at least supportive of her throughout this season. KumikoxKanade is still the best Kumiko ship though, and you can't change my mind.

I would have loved to see Reina finally confess her love to Taki and get utterly rejected by him. Then she'd really know how it feels to work so hard only to have your dream ending be entirely crushed by your so-called most precious person. You know, like how Kumiko felt these last two episodes. In fact, that's gonna be my head canon ending from now on.

All in all, I still liked this season overall, but I do think it's the weakest of the franchise.

man this was so perfect 🥺🥺

can summarize all my feelings with this one phrase, "ah youth..." lol

genuinely so happy for all of them that it made me happy as well. i too ended up tearing up when they got gold. last episode i was spoiled by subtitles about who gets which medal in the prefecturals so i closed my eyes when they were announcing and only opened them again after hearing "kin". so great man. plus they finally showed us the performance too and the soli part was perfect after all the drama that ensued because of it. everything went perfect, everyone gave their 100% and everyone looked satisfied at the end of the performance. everything was handled very well by the studio to produce such an amazing last episode. no more "tsugi no kyouku hajimaruno desu" :(

really liked the montage of the main scenes being showed during the playing. highlighting the most dramatic and important scenes coupled with the highlights of young members just showed how far everyone has come. the highlights of kumiko's struggles at the start of the school year, her wavering about whether to join the club or not just shows how far they've come, how much they've matured.

school bands really are a special place. it literally changed kumiko's life for the best. the growth that happened due to it, the experiences, everything is invaluable that would have been impossible to get if not for the band. moreoever it helped her choose her career as well. man i was so happy to see that. the moment i saw a pair of sandlas walking i knew instantly for some reason that it is kumiko and she's become an adivsor for the club. i wonder where taki went. maybe in america with reina? haha.

imagine how happy kumiko will feel if after all those years she ends up catching someone on euph playing hibike! euphonium that she passed on so many years ago. would be so beautiful.

been some time since i felt so satisfied after finishing an anime. everything was legit perfect. so happy man just so happy. 10/10 easy. thank you kyoani for such a wonderful adaptation, all of the seasons were beautifully done.

ah i'll miss this truly.

Great last episode!

The performance was beautiful, i literally cried while listening.

There were nostalgic flashbacks during the performance. All the characters have grown so much in these 3 seasons. It was really cute when everyone cried in the end.

And Kumiko
I cant imagine her in this profession lol (but ofc its a joke, i think it suits her well)

The third season of Euphonium is the best anime of this season. Despite some disadvantages and sometimes boredom, this is a beautiful anime with high-quality visuals, sound, and story. KioAni is still proving that they keep their brand.

And the most important thing is that Euphonium evokes emotions, this anime is very heartwarming and i really enjoyed watching it.

I really enjoyed the music they played during the competition.
I thought all 3 seasons were really good. I am glad all their hard work paid off in the end.
It was also nice to see Kumiko teach at the school at the end.

I read on JP Twitter that they were seemingly planning this third season before the incident. Naturally, a lot of things had to change after so many lives were unfairly taken from this world. The unmistakeable talent of those people, as well as their passion and love for animation, elevated Seasons 1 and 2 into something far greater.

As those on that thread also mention, this ending feels a lot like a nod to those people who are now no longer with us. Knowing how many of them worked on the show back then, those flashbacks carry a lot of meaning that extends beyond the show. This was no doubt a project that carried a lot of emotional weight for the KyoAni staff; seeing the story reach its end for one, but also honoring the memory of those who passed on. I think it’s something extraordinary.

MANNN this is a great finale to a great series! The music had me shivering and goosebumps, plus the montage at the end was so fitting and reminiscing! This is one of KyoAni's best projects by far and it shows. The animation was peak and the chose the best moments to show. I hope they'll make a movie or spinoff like they do a lot. Thank to KyoAni for great adaptation, and thank you Ayano Takeda for writing this masterpiece. I hope we get to see more of Kumiko and Reina and even Shuuichi because damnnn I don't wanna leave this series. Peak episode and Peak series. 😿

I'm really moved... when Hazuki appeared crying with emotion at the end of the performance, I finally shed my tears too. It was then that I realized that all of Reina's obsession with gold yielded true results, which was to make the Kouhais' dedication and respect for Kitauji's music flourish.

@-Stray Not sure why some people care so much about the solo, does everything have to go perfect for a happy ending?
She got her club to win gold at nationals as president, the main goal that the club failed in previous seasons
Received the award herself
Graduated and got the job she wanted
Still keeps in touch with friends (or she wouldn't know what they're doing)
Got a boyfriend that supports her

By all accounts she is happy and successful.

Of course they will win. Director have to showed the result to prove his point in changing things. So, not surprised at all. I will be more surprised if they showed them lose. Because "IRL is like that" as what people told me prior episode when Kumiko didn't get the soli part. Yup, still salty about it and this episode change nothing for me not even power point of memory lane will do it for me. Alas, is it a bad ending? No. people's life goes on. Is it a good ending then, Nah. cannot just brush last episode off like what this episode do and hope me forgot about it either. Besides that, most people can see they just skim through this episode to finished with no retrospect from Kumiko, or her speech towards her kouhai. Well, probably due to people flaming them for BS they put out for last episode.

It's actually very surprising how an anime franchise ending that I once loved able to make me felt alienated in its last 2 episodes. It's a first for me at least and I hope it will be the last because I don't want to experience this again.

I'm being very generous, 7/10.

I still don't get why they decided to make mayu win the solo because "they wanted to change the end" just to do the same ending as the original material, if all they wanted was the fake drama they could still make kumiko win the audition and have the better ending with reina and kumiko playing together.
