I found it unique for the isekai show doing the short format style on this first episode. Pretty compact and on-point to introduce the main cast; what's Saitou used to do in the past, which some isekai might failed to showcase that for the sake of plot movement, his worry; worldbuilding, and dick become those world origin unit measurement; and well, maybe a little bit of some side character here and there too being introduced. But i like this better than i thought, a handyman Saitou about to begin the new journey with his unusual party, in another world!

Though they could do better on the opening, if i can be honest here...

Well. This seems like a chill but fun isekai. I quite enjoyed it. I liked the party a lot. The ending was heartwarming.

But I still have to drop it after this first ep because there's wayyy too much to watch this season. But it was nice. I might pick it up again in the future when there are less to watch.

(The op is really good. ^^)

update: I felt bad dropping it cause it was good, I kept thinking about it, so I decided to watch a couple more episodes. XD

Is this the kind of anime that show random events? Interesting. I like how everyone was astonished at Saitou's out-worldly skills, he can know it's Raelza in any armor very easily, and she looks like she has some affection for him. Lafanpan is a cute little fairy, even if she usually does stuff for money, and old man Morlock is funny that he can't remember his incantations despite being a great wizard. Why was he out of retirement? I can sympathize with Saitou. Wanting to be appreciated and feeling irreplaceable, it's great that he has people like that in another world.

Great introduction-
It's funny, heartfelt, and wholesome. Great example of the found family trope!
I look forward to more!

This is just judging prematurely since the series hasn't developed enough but it's just to comical. the forgetful wizard, the gold-digging fairy, the identity confused knight the creepy priest it's a lot going on in just the first episode and the non-magical mc ml I get he wants to use his skills to help there so many different ways to go about this instead of going into the dungeons.

Well, it seems like another generic isekai, so generic that they don't even bother showing the intro anymore, cuz you already know it..
There seems to be however 1 thing that is different from all the other standard tropes, he's a handyman, and a lockpicker.
Lockpicking and fixing stuff is what he does best.
And yet, in season 1, episode 1, MINUTE 1, he's lockpicking a door while holding his lockpicks completely the wrong way... You cannot lockpick a door like this.
All they had to do was google lockpicking and how to hold lockpicks, would've took them but a few seconds, but nah, the one thing that should make this not generic, is apparently too much to ask to do right.
I'm gonna give this show a few more episodes before I'm making up my mind about it, but first impressions are dreadful at best

Finally a new isekai with quality! You can tell they've really thought about it instead of just throwing in the usual hidden powers. A handyman, whose ordinary-world abilities can actually be used in the new world, I have to see what happens.

Have to admit I laughed at the Maderaca explanation. When they first showed a close-up of the king I thought it would turn out that he had been 30 centimeters tall. But no, they got me on that one.

For a first episode, disjointed and with no setup.
It spends all it's time giving a "what these random people are" with nothing to tie them in together. Hey it's a pixie healer, a swordswoman, some guy who is apparently from another world, a foggie wizard. And at least those are the ones in the party. But nothing about who they ARE or how the tie in to anything.

There is also a random "he talks to some shop-keeper like they have secrets, and the swordswoman apparently walks in in disguise, for no reason and with no framing." Also a shot of "Hey here's a dwarf with a dog, and here are 2 other people doing some adventuring, no reason why we're showing them, or where they are or what their relevance is." Might as well just flick to a shot of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, in the middle of a star-wars movie. It has that level of relevance.

I am SERIOUSLY hoping this series gets better, because so far I'd get as much plot, character development, and setting, if I snorted a bears worth of coccaine, ate a bucket of skittles, blindfolded myself and watched 10 episodes of Blues Clues in reverse with the sound off.

Handyman Saitou in Another World's first episode may have started with low expectations, but it quickly captured the attention of viewers with its impressive visuals and unique approach to the isekai genre. This anime stands out from the crowd with its refreshing take on the usual OP MCs formula that has been seen in previous isekai shows.

The stunning visuals of the anime are a testament to the progression of the anime industry as a whole. The attention to detail in the animation is simply spectacular, and it's clear that the production team took great care in bringing the world of Handyman Saitou in Another World to life.

One of the most significant aspects of the anime that sets it apart from its counterparts is the humor. The jokes are well-timed and well-executed, often leading to genuine moments of laughter from viewers. At the same time, the main character, Saitou, is relatable and likable, making it easy for viewers to sympathize with his situation.

Despite being an isekai, Handyman Saitou in Another World manages to break free from the conventional mold of the genre, thanks to its unique premise and execution. The show's refreshing approach is a welcome change and a breath of fresh air from the monotony of similar shows.

The first episode may not have been mind-blowing, but it was well executed and promises more in the coming episodes. All in all, Handyman Saitou in Another World's first episode is a solid start to an anime that looks to have plenty of potential. With that in mind, it deserves a rating of 8/10 for its exceptional execution, strong visuals, and fresh take on the isekai genre.

That old lady is a very example of ignorant greedy ppl common now a days. They didnt even think those workers spent money and time studying and mastering their profession then they demand for low price. Worst not even read the advertised rate. What an idiot.

I went in expecting this to be like a continuous series with overarching story instead of being a segmented comedy series, but so far it seems to do a good job at it. Gotta say the senile high-level geezer is my favourite so far.

After finishing “Chillin in my 30s”, I’ve come back to Winter 2023 once again for another fantasy/Isekai show that caught my attention but didn’t make my list, and damn I am already sad I didn’t pick this one lol. This show looks very nice, the art and animation are pretty smooth and I like the unique aspect of the content being split into shorter segments, which had me suspecting this is adapting a 4-panel manga and this thread confirmed it for me, an Isekai being like that is something I haven’t seen before and I like it.

And I really enjoyed a lot of the bits in this one, Saitou and his party are a unique combo that make for some good serious moments and comedy bits from what we saw just in this first episode, and as much as I love bikini armor I have to respect the decision to put Raelza in full plated armor lol. And that OP at the end was a great one, definitely excited to watch the rest of this one!

TBH I m not feeling anything special from this first episode, but I have seen tons of impressions on later episodes, so I know I will be pleased.
But it is such a odd start, to instead of having a proper beggining, it is a collection of random stories.

The characters are fine, except for the female knight, he affection/reactions towards the main character is very sudden and out of nowhere. Her armour is also very strangely designed and very nonoptimal when it comes to combat. Something I also want to comment on is the MC's dilemma of feeling useless, which could have been expanded on in later episodes, but they seem to have just solved it almost immediately after mentioning it.

I have been watching this for 1 minute and I already love this show. Dude should team up with the vending machine.

I hate to say it but I think I will have to watch more generic isekai from now on lol

Handyman beeing thieves is so accurate, 1 minute of lock picking and its 100€ lol

The 4 panel manga format makes it feel like I watch 10 episodes instead of one, really nice

The plot is SoL isekai for now, nothing specific happened, a lot of strange introduction of random characters but it was surprisingly enjoyable. MC is terribly boring, the rest of the team is much more interesting but they all have terribly bland character designs imo.

This is so heartwarming and funny! Saitou is very relatable to me, since I struggle with self-worth, too. The characters feel genuinely unique and not full of tropes. This is an isekai that got me hooked! I love the animation, too!
