I've been watching anime for about 10 years now, and recently I've had an epiphany, which sprouted into an idea;
"I've watched a lot of anime. I've never reviewed any anime. I should review every anime I've ever watched."
Which is a horrible idea, thinking back on it. Mainly because I've seen hundreds of shows which I'll either have to rewatch to review it accurately, or just review what I remember from it and waffle the rest. But here is the plan :
>Shows that I have seen long ago, that I plan to rewatch, will get an initial review and be placed on hold, and will then get a second review once I've rewatched it.
>Longer shows (Naruto, FairyTail, Bleach, and other older shounen)that have finished airing will get a longer, all-encompassing review.
>Longer shows that are still airing (I'm staring at you, One Piece) will get updated reviews as I catch up. Might have to write an actual fucking grimoire for OP.
>There are a ton of shows that I have started, enjoyed, and then dropped because life takes over and then I forget about it. Therefore I am moving all shows that I've dropped to On Hold and I will once again, run that shit from the top.
>I'll give all new shows 3 episodes. If it sucks, it's going to the bin. But not until I've at least got 3 episodes of content that I can base my review on.
A short FYI :
>I don't take anime too seriously, but I do plan to give my honest opinion. I appreciate great writing, solid characters, creative worlds, and hype as fuck fight scenes with animation that breaks the budget.
> To immediately contradict my above statement; I do have a special kind of love for trashcan anime. A guilty pleasure - if you will. There's something about shallow characters having hype moments from a cookie-cutter isekai that triggers some response in my brain. I'm trying to say that my opinions on certain shows will be questionable (*cough*chainedsoldier*cough*).
>I'm not a weekly watcher, meaning I'd rather wait for an anime to finish airing before I start watching. This is so I can watch at my own pace and also gives me more time to watch other shows. There are exceptions to this rule, purely to avoid spoilers online and to discuss with friends (JJK S2, for example).
>I have read quite a bit of manga, but I'm not planning on doing any manga reviews (yet).
>This is purely for myself, and I do not expect my opinions to be shared. This is merely a new hobby that I'm trying out. I enjoyed creative(ish) writing in the past, I enjoy anime now - so why not combine the 2 and see where it goes? Beats doom scrolling.
Well that's about all there is to know, will update this is things change. If you are reading this, I'm sorry :D
