The surprising thing is that Kuon was the one to betray the team. Seeing from the previous episodes, Kuon was that character that helped everyone and was the "mother" of the group so to say. But this was a twist.

I wonder what will happen to Kuon if Team Z wins. I have a feeling that Kuon will lose with the other Team and the guy (I forgot his name) from ep 1 with white hair will somehow come back to Team Z, or something like that.

Doesn't Kuon realise that Team Z will beat the shit out of him once they go back to the changing rooms?

Yeah lol and what if the other teams tell him to piss off and don't accept his offer?

yeah it's really stupid. But this is a sports shounen so I bet $100 that everyone will make up with Kuon and become best buddies before the start of the match against W

I hope this isn't like Kuroko Season 1, where the animation was good for the first few episodes (to hook viewers) and then mediocre for the rest of the season (apart from one episode) until the final 2 episodes where the animation was good again.

The twins really reminds me of Tachibaha brothers from Captain Tsubasa.

wow no wonder Kuon scored those three goals so easily... god damn it.
Should not trust Anime character with eyes closed all the time.

I'm waiting for Chigiri to give us something.

Anyway, Team Rice all the way!!

So Kuon turns out to be a snake in the grass. That was a great twist. When he scored those 3 goals for team Z I was like damn, how are they gonna turn this game into a nail biter if it's going like this.

I had my own suspicions from how easy it was he got those goals, to one of the brothers getting frustrated so quickly. I thought to myself, how did team W get so far like this. It turns out it was all a ruse.

I'm betting on either Raichi or Chigiri will be the ones to foil this plot.

5/5 ep

Never trust characters with eyes permanently closed. That said, what stops the others from breaking Kuon's ankles (and ending his career in the process) once the match ends?

Red_Ranger_Wien said:

Having the same VA doing the same voice will do that

Raichi's VA is Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, not Nobuhiko Okamoto.
If anything, Raichi sounds exactly like Inosuke from Kimetsu no Yaiba (same personality and intonation).

lol egg on my face. Sounds just like Bakugo

I was not expecting Kuon to turn out like that. What a sly bitch. His smile was evil and creepy. Then the brothers are annoying af and just ugly to look at. Compared to the previous episodes, this was slow and boring. Also how is it 12 vs 10, other than Kuon who's the other free person? OR are there originally 11 players on each team?
As a wise man once said, "No one hates anime more than anime fans"

What a twist! The one who felt like was a captain to the group betraying them like that must have been rough. Those brothers look goofy with their facial designs, but their teamwork is something else. The post-credit additional time was funny as usual with Kuon betraying them once again in one episode.

Match-fixing? sort of..but it felt way too forced & convenient to be suddenly introduced in the story but im not complaining.

The animation is still sub-par which by now has me convinced that the studio isn't adept to producing a sports anime. It has been a constant DISAPPOINTMENT

The game was fine, I guess. The two brothers are annoying. They keep focusing on Chigiri so maybe it's time for him to shine? Probably

what are you talking about? The animation is really great

The whole betrayal part was a good dynamic to the story as it seemed that part of the rules was forgotten by the players so im excited to see how they will play it off especially since theyve been buddy buddy this whole time.

Nah, manga is indeed perfect, but the anime was beyond my expectation so far. Definitely worth continuing watching it. But your choice if you want to read the manga.

plus, I personally wouldn't take recommendation from an "april 2022 account with no anime/manga in their list"

Blue Lock episode 6, I do not understand it. Team W has allowed Koun of Team Z three goals in exchange for intel. Halftime and the score is now 3-0 in Team Z’s favour after Koun procures his much coveted hat-trick which places him firmly on the top scorer’s list. With a new twist of plot it turns out that not only had Koun given up on intel but had also agreed upon to join forces with team W on the field and hence to become a trojan on the mission of depriving Z of their lead. A 12 v 10 matchup.

A classic piece of legerdemain and subterfuge? Now now, how can people look at that with their heads dropping in awe. How can you appreciate that, how can you hold that in high regard, just how can you adulate such nonsense as a plot point? Nonsense through and through with both narratives in consideration. For Koun, why would he turn against Team Z after they have been so generously been granted a three goal lead? Does the halftime break hold no narrative significance, would it not have had been more optimal to reveal the scheme he has stirred up and foil it halfway through with Team Z up 3 goals. Knowing what your opponent is expecting, knowing what opportunity they are hoping to create, isn’t that ideal in game theory? Can information discharged not easily be turned against as you know it’s contents and where it has headed? In terms of risk aversion, Koun needs to stay on the top scorer’s list and with the matchup with team V still impending. He will have to ferment this betrayal thing into a quotidian occurrence to make sure that things are to stay his way with the probability of Team V turning away a ‘goal for extra player’ plan away and there still being room for serendipity for the 10 man team Z. Excluding living life as an incendiary rapscallion in Team Z’s quartets, surely this gnarled up scenario is just too much for the rationale Mr. Koun is presented as it can simply just be avoided. Consequently, it makes little narrative sense for Team W albeit desperate to accept this proposal when the person promising to betray his team can easily just betray them... These are questions which should have had been considered when constructing this hot mess but either way, I look forward to seeing what sick twist if at all is brought to us next week in trying to alleviate this stew of nonsense.

Man, was this episode enjoyable for the anime-only watchers? I felt like the betrayal had more foreshadowing, which I didn't notice in the manga. I was genuinely happy for Kuon's hat-trick as I read the chapters, so I think the pace of the episode ruined the impact of the twist. Also, the animation is falling so low I forgot past episodes were good. What do you think?

Damn I also was surprised that Kuon ended up being a traitor, that sucks but the game isn't over yet. Hopefully Isagi formulates a last minute plan to tie and win the game with his special ability. What sucks more about Kuon's betrayal is that he was the leader in the locker room, at least as far as going over game plans. That cliffhanger is making me look more forward to watching how this match ends, that's for sure.

Kuon being a traitor wasn't totally unexpected for me. Sure at the very beginning, where he was missing at the meeting it looked more like he was about to collapse. But in the game itself, him scoring 3 goals in a row was already weird enough. So it got even more strange when Team W had a perfect formation and seemed to knew about all the important key players and their weapons. It was this moment when I realized why Kuon came to late to the meeting and why he was allowed to score 3 goals. His dirty smile confirmed my suspicion about him. Imagine having such a looser mentality that you think betraying your own team is the only way to survive.

With a 12 vs 10 situation it will be even harder to make a comeback. Also interesting to hear more about Chigiri's past and that him and the Wanima brothers were in a team before.

I wonder if Isagi and rest will come up with something in the remaining 15 minutes. At this point I just want to see Kuon's face if his plan doesn't work. I expect Chigiri to become the key player in the next episode.

Kuon’s betrayal was really shocking to find out in the manga, but seeing this scene animated is even worse to witness. On the other hand, if I were one of his teammates, I swear I would’ve thrown hands because the jerk deserved it.

If I see Kuon, it’s on sight.
