I feel like this would be a lot better if we didn't have those constant cuts to those two girls observing the show who feel the need to explain everything that's going while also praising the MC. |

Honestly as someone who doesn't read manga often, I read this one and I now understand the pain of seeing a studio rush an adaption. There were a lot of scenes and dialogue cut out, which actually added a lot to the moment. I still enjoyed it non the less and I'll pray they work on the pacing for the next episodes |

Omthain said: FreezePeach said: Bro just said one of the RELEVANT thoughts in Tomodachi Game. TG is a heavily MYSTERY genre. I don't know why there's no such tags/listed genre when the anime announced. Your concerns will be directly answered in the future LITERALLY. Also, welcome to Tomodachi Game! Based from your comment, you pretty much realize now one of the dark nature of the game. As I could see, you have concerns about "winning" the game. However, what does "winning" means in this game? You can easily and obviously gain the idea based from the name of the game alone, "Tomodachi (Friends) Game". As hinted by Manabu-kun, the only way to win the game is not doubt your friends, atleast in the first episode, but you get the point. You can just talk it out and cooperate with just the power of friendship among each other right? However, here comes the goal of Tomodachi Game since it's apparent in Episode 1: to destroy friendship. That I think is their general goal. By maintaining the friendship will make you won and beat Tomodachi Game, however, it will not be that easy as we see the nature of the games and the uncertainty of what those seems organizers are capable of. It isn't just "winning the game". There is another meaningful goal this game has, however, it will be told on the next episode. Specifically, the game is unfair but that doesn't mean you can't win the game. Being a GENIUS alone isn't enough to beat Tomodachi Game. In addition, you actually have to see through the deceits this game (or the manga/anime) is giving you. It's either what your seeing right now is too unrealistic or too good to be unrealistic. Yes, there is a lot of psychological aspect in this too. It already played the mind of both the viewers and first-time readers of Tomodachi Game since Chapter 1/Episode 1. Just again my reminder is don't be easily deceived!Pile of crap. Random torture of bunch of innocent people for no reason whatsoever. Game rules are not clear and can be changed any moment. There is no winning strategy because there is no internal logic or even a pretense of fairness in the game. It is obviously rigged from start to finish. In this episode loss/gain on game squares are not revealed in advance. Places are semi-randomly defined by some "observers". There is nothing to plan and no way to meaningfully control the flow of the game. It is absurdly unfair and players don't really play, they are just punchbags. Any additional amount of debt can be assigned to any of them at any moment. They should quickly run it to the finish ignoring ridiculous "debt" and then let the legal system deal with game organizers. Figuring out who is "the traitor" is pointless. Betrayal implies that some player deviates from winning strategy that is good for everyone to gain something for himself. But with these rules it is impossible, there is no winning strategy. These people are not much of a friends to begin with and we know next to nothing about them. New "shocking" details can be revealed any moment for fake drama and completely throw off any attempt of analysis. "Themes: High Stakes Game, Psychological, Strategy Game" - nope, nothing of these. Just a pile of random crap. I don't know why this thing exists. No, this is not MYSTERY. Mystery as a genre requires internal logic. I think this show is okay, it's worth the 20 minutes every week, but it feels kinda empty. Almost like there's no meat to it. I don't know anything beyond the first two episodes, this conjecture, but I have a feeling they're all the traitor. If that's the case, I think it makes the show lesser for it. |

Yeah anime only.. the characters seem flat at first but it is interesting with the quick pacing and airing of dirty laundry they unfold more and more. It's catty and the games are new too me.. feels like a reality show itch is being scratched somehow. 4 for sure |

As an anime only watcher, i am unexpectedly very invested to the plot progression so far... So, Yuuichi clearly did a perfect snap at the last sequence of the first game, in order to clear it onto another game, without any disturbance from the 'traitor'. Then Yuuichi doin exactly what i expect, inspect the letter, only to found out that its made from a special ink. Damn fuckin troll xd. There's some surprise confession, but its sure related to what comes next. Then, i think the second game will be the place where every background character story be revealed. Seems like there's some dark side among their backstory, such as those Shiho plastic surgery, Tenji father death, and then Shibe with his mother? And don't forget about there's also Kokorogi screaming which maybe more shocking than those three revelations. With that being said, i am thinking that those Shiho plastic surgery, was from Yuuichi. Because i feel like the secret she needed to told from the previous episode was actually it. What about the first 'bad-mouth'? I am thinking its also from Yuuichi. But whats his exact purpose? I still don't know... Aside of that, interesting to see how Kokorogi part played out next, and how everyone reacted to that. And many more details about the progress of the game. Lets see... |

So far, with two episodes out, I think it's pretty clear that the budget is low and animation is kinda shit. However, since the source material is top tier I hope as long as they stay true to the manga even if the animation is bad this anime should still be somewhat decent. It's such a pity that such a great series doesn't get the adaptation it deserves... Some of the pacing and direction they took is just so weird. -Flaky- said: This is one example of the consequences of their weird direction. Why add Kokorogi screaming at the end without any context?? That's next episode content, so it should belong in the preview, not before the ending song. It's only gonna confuse/mislead the anime-onlys.I always suspected that brown hair girl since episode one, I suspected everyone even the Mc himself but I suspect that brown hair girl more. She feels like a pick me, too bad none of the guys like her that way. She probably was screaming cuz Yuichi doesn’t like her back There are multiple translation errors in this episode: 1. When your lie is exposed, you're NOT forced back to the start. Instead, you're forced to one space BEFORE the person in first place (at the front). Because the goal of this game is to be the last, NOT the first. 2. Also, 12:33 if they remain on the board when the game ends, they DON'T get 1 million yen added to their debt, they get 1m yen TAKEN OFF from their debt. ("賞金(Shokin)" means "prize money". "Debt" is "借金(Shakkin)") 3. 16:42 It's not "didn't know" it's "do know". |

well from the ep1 i was suspecting sawaragi, idk why but she give off vibes and in ep2 as mikasa tenji heard bout sawaragi confessing to yurichi, he now thinks sawaragi is the traitor, what i also believe that sawaragi is the traitor and confessing to yurichi is one of her plan. As now what i believe yurichi has gained some trust in sawaragi bcoz of confession which is problem so to counter that tenji used some of his tricks to create more suspicion that sawaragi is the traitor, and that too i believe tenji does not hav any feelings for sawaragi. |

This is one of the strongest point of the manga. We don't have enough backstory of the characters because they are to be reveal further. Geez if the ANIME only put the MYSTERY genre here, maybe anime-only watchers have different approach on it. As a manga reader, when I read this part the first time, I really don't expect much backstory at first because I know that it's a MYSTERY manga, and revelations will be revealed later on.Everything about this quote is accurate! such a dumb show. no one would EVER agree to do this, I mean fuck 20 million yen is 160k usd and they are high school kids. Kidnapped and gassed? then they give permission, hahaha ok. The four people who would have had to agree to pay off the ones friends debts would be fucking saints, to do so. If that was the case than only the douche with the debt would be the betrayer. Just such a ridiculous show, also confusing at times. The comparison to squid games is an insult to squid games, in squid games all the participations were DESPERATE with their life situations and in the game they had the option to leave. They built the characters up and gave us some meaning to the plot before just throwing them into fire. frustrating show, no investment in the characters. FreezePeach said: Pile of crap. That's one of the biggest let downs fooor sure. I can appreciate that, I'm sure the Manga was done a lot better! I haven't read the Manga so I've got really zeeeero information on any of these characters, which has lead to my zero investment. I'll give it one more episode but I predict this show is going to see a TON of people dropping it. |

My prediction last episode was kind of correct. Sadly. Yuuichi did say what he said to increase his debt and "gain trust". And, I still think he could have said anything at all. So, the specific thing he said and the way he said them could have just been avoided! The characters' personalities don't seem to be well fleshed out. Their behaviours are all over the place. No one actually seem like friends. I wish we got to see them being friends first, before we saw the friendship getting destroyed. Though, I have a feeling this story is just about the game, and not about the characters. Except, the games are not that good. I keep finding myself comparing this to Liar Game. |

Seems kind of BS for the premise of "clear all 10 games and walk away debt-free" followed by games with arbitrary debt increasing squares and crowd-polled square advancement. In the first game at least there is the premise of "try to throw the game and profit with betrayal", but this second game is just like "here's a bunch of random debt". The fact that there isn't an obvious strategy for 5 perfectly cooperating robots to end up without extra debt in this second game is terrible. |

These people don't even earn any money yet. This is completely ridiculous. "the goal of Tomodachi Game is to destroy friendship" - I honestly don't care. People must behave like people, the game must be interesting, there must be something to think about. Nothing of this is present in this show. No, my concerns can't be "answered in the future LITERALLY" - it is impossible to polish a turd to this extent. I am done with it. I will not be giving running commentary on this garbage till episode 12. To each his own and if you somehow enjoy it - good for you. Not my cup of tea, way to irritating. At least your posts make the fact I watch this trash less irritating to know someone understands how RIDICULOUS this trash is haha. Like if the point of the "game" that they all so INSTANTLY and I mean in fucking SECONDS decided to play was to ruin friendships (oh ok we were kidnapped by lunatics lets play a game). All any fucking semi-sane person had to was not want to play the game, at least ask some fucking questions. ZERO MYSTERY, just random shit slapped together. I'm sorry that I'm sure the manga was good but this is trash for my eyeballs. |

Been reading through the comments and I see some excessively long defence or insults to the series. |

I personally believe everyone opinion can be summed up in one sentence. Doesn't fit my likings. But the way since people do it, is they attack people who are liking the series in one way or another. Which leads to more disputes. Which I believe to be unnecessary. Don't like it then just drop and move on |

I love the OP and ED. The next game was fresh even though a little confusing for me since I haven't heard of it before. The spaces are reminiscent of monopoly but adding the badmouth your friend part was really the highlight plus the existence of these "gods" which take me back to DRV3's own questionable "revelation." I knew the romantic pining is gonna blow up soon but just didn't expect Tenji and Sawaragi as exes. I'm hyped to know what happens after that cliffhanger. |

I'll be honest, it's only Episode 2 and I'm already starting to tune out. You know how I know? I was more interested in the internet comments... sorry, God Survey, that was happening above our fucked team of five. And some of them were pretty funny. This is gonna be the most generic animc bullshit thriller ever. And the ED pretty much proved it, turns out they all have dark black pasts, their mostly valued possessions. Everyone likes the one girl, the innocent looking girl goes nuts, blonde friend side character is declared as such in front of everyone. Tell me you haven't seen that shit before. And the whole "pretending to date to appease our parents, but I actually liked you for reals the entire time" thing IS LITERALLY RIPPED FROM NISEKOI (and probably other romance shows too) Oh, and the protag is definiely NOT the traitor, because he's the protag and the secret organisation is already like "watch him closely, he has powers". Unless he IS the traitor then it's like "oh, he's poor, that's why", but then there's also the masterminds who are just evil. One of three predictable ways. So at this point the show couldn't surprise me. I'll keep watching to laugh at the bullshit, tho. |

Characterization, dialogues, directing... all of it such low effort and low quality that it looks like it came out of a teenager's Tiktok posts. Everyone "Suki"s each other like a low budget soap opera scenario yet pushing a stupid philosophical point of "which is more important, the friends or money" Characters are also dumb. I wish this anime was lives at stake kind of anime where they die, so we could see them all die as they deserve. People scoring over 7 also have poor taste. I didn't hold any gun to anyone's head. People still have trash taste though. And I acknowledge it's their freedom to do so. |

Okay, this is definitely better than the first episode and the visuals were alright on this one. Also, Manabe made me lose it with the dancing, not bothered by the CGI though. This game gave people trust issues but only everyone can't be friends unless they don't reveal the truth about the amount of debt because the ones they have stated could possibly be inaccurate to their initials, also the bad-mouthing is one of the most entertaining for the setup not gonna lie, also don't ever trust the most talkative one, really pay attention to those who don't really talk here but the secrets spoiled is quite interesting because it's predictable and unpredictable at times. But it would be hard for some to get an idea of the game and who is going to speculate and monitor them while they were playing the game Lelouch0202 said: I feel like this would be a lot better if we didn't have those constant cuts to those two girls observing the show who feel the need to explain everything that's going while also praising the MC. |

Think u don't understand what I meant here. Wat I'm saying is that I don't mind people saying negative things about the show o because they don't like it. What I deem unnecessary is attacking someone that likes the show. Like at the end of the day it's for entertainment and even the worst of shows still has an audience. |

But the I won't deny, nobody likes people saying something bad about a show they found enjoyable or interesting or just worthwhile. But I don't see the point of making it seem that if someone likes a particular show, that person "Most love to watch brain dead shows and has poor taste." Like ok you didn't like it and that's cool but Wats the point of just attacking those who did? |

I'm giving this series one more episode. I'm getting tired of having this show just randomly drop twists with no build up whenever it feels like it. We’re never naturally shown something instead someone just pops up and goes “Well ACKTUALLY did you know about THIS!!!????” Kind of feels like we should be in the middle of the season by now rather than only 2 episodes in. |

ComboSmooth said: I get that anime generally require a level of Suspension of disbelief but kids aren't liable to debt. How could any of them be in any real legal debt. Of course, this game is being run by a shady organization that doesnt mind using violence. So they can always physically threaten you or worse.... but you definitely dont have to pay back a dime of this "debt." And that's aside from them illegally pushing this debt onto you I haven't read the manga but it seems the second game with the "Gods" in the sky voting and commenting implies there's a supernatural element. They might be in some sort of simulation. |
