As much as I love Haru, this episode is quite bad. Characters are either emotionless or full of emotion. Someone cry every three minutes.
Ain't that like in real life too though?

So glad Kureno grew a set and saved Isuzu. Haru should have knocked Akito's teeth down her throat. I "might" feel sorry Akito if she gets pushed out of a second story window onto a rock, beat to within an inch of her life, verbally abused ect.. She needs to feel the immense pain she has cause the other zodiac members. Her past doesn't give her a pass.

Wait, what's going on? I've always like Fruits Basket and I obviously had high hopes for this last season, but THIS is beyond what I was expecting by a mile. 4 absolutely outstanding episodes in a row. I'm honestly shocked at how good this final season is, and may it continue 'til the end.

What a freaking episode, Isuzu and Haru's relationship is too pure. Everyone is hurting especially Isuzu where she nearly killed herself to find a way to break the curse for Haru. I am glad that they reunited and that ending really tore me. Also Akito, what did he expect after trying to kill Isuzu twice, you really think Haru would come back to you? I'm glad that Kureno actually did something because hes mainly passive, but he saved Isuzu which is a go. Man Akito is such a abusive person. The one thing I noticed that was interesting was the bond between Haru and Akito seem to have broken a little bit, or something had happen. Honestly if I was in Haru's position I would knock the lights out of Akito for what he has done.

Another amazing episode. Throws up a lot of questions in my mind, and first and foremost is perhaps Akito is the key to breaking the chains. If you take away the supernatural element then all that looks to be left is tradition and the old guard maintaining a power structure which is no longer relevant in a modern society where the old gods have all but gone.

I feel the only thing which keeps this thread of fate suffocating all the zodiacs is nothing more than a almost cult like hold on there minds and that control structure is cracking as Akito makes more irrational decisions and pushes people further away from her.

This eps even hinted that its not even Akitos fault, but they were raised in an environment where superiority and shows of power were all that are needed to keep the power structure in place.

Its a fantastic dynamic and Im just speculating, because you cant ignore the fact they are zodiac members, but maybe they need to find a new way to live in a modern world.

I can't believe Akito has the audacity to ask why people don't like her?????? I don't care about her sad past or whatever you just can't go around trying to kill people. no

Yes, this looks stupid to us. But in Akito's selfish and childish mind, she is the God, she was here to be loved according to her father.
She could do anything to them, the String between them is supposed to restrain them.

That's why I like how in the amime, they did include a metaphorical string all along.

Without Kureno's intervention, Haru may have returned towards Akito and apologize.

Uhhhhh I love this show so much. Haru's curse has started to break. Seemingly because of his very strong feelings for Rin. Makes you wonder about why Kureno's curse just kinda broke outta nowhere. But man I wanted Akito to get decked so fucking hard.

I sure can't say that I would have felt too bad if Hatsuhara had slugged Akito there. Would have been well earned, I think.

But in the end, I'm glad he found Rin, and himself. They deserve any happiness they can find.

This episode adapts chapter 104-106. Some things were changed, but it's not too important. They did have to cut stuff out to fit 3 chapters into 1 episode.

Hm, why did they draw Yuki taller then Haru. In the manga Haru is taller...
(They also keep drawing Momiji smaller than Tooru but at this point in the manga they are the same height.)

Many misstranslations...

At 01:52 Haru says: "It's a great mystery." At 02:24 Haru says: "If it all goes wrong, comfort me."
At 06:58 Hiro says "You need to tell her it's ok now." At 08:03 Kisa says "It's ok now".
At 09:07 Haru says that "Heaven" told him that Akito pushed Rin. At 09:23 Akito says "So you believe in Heaven but not in me, God."
At 17:03 Ren says "Knowing that child, he couldn't bear to leave it out in a corner of the room. It must be hidden, behind a door."
At 17:57 Akito says: "Which would you prefer, letting you out or blinding Hatsuharu?"
At 18:35 Rin says: "You surelly don't need such a me."

They can't go to chapter 107 next episode because they need to show the skipped chapters 90-93 before that. Which means they will probably be skipping and rearranging chapters again? Argh, I really don't like it when they do that. Just show 90-93 next, damn it.

Anyway, the best episode so far for me. Because Haru-Rin is best couple and Haru, Rin (and Kyou) are fav characters. Akito bitch and Ren bitch should go to hell together and keep fighting each other there forever.

BTW, I love how Rin's pupils turned black at 21:53, totally didn't notice that in the manga. Nice touch by the mangaka, she really thinks about every detail.

If what you said is true, about chapters adapted, and considering this:

There is no way we are going to get only 12-13 episodes, unless they want to drop the ball, and fuck this adaptation at the end, there is no way that is happening.

Manga readers should know better, they have 30 chapters to adapt, and 8-9 episodes left?!
They would either have to skip chapters completely or adapt at a pace higher than 3 chapters per episode.

Really, now is the time to do the adaptation with the most care, not do just give up and do a rushed job.
Sure this season could not be 2 cour, but they could as well give us a bit more episodes than 12 or 13, wouldnt have been the first time.
The industry could be more transparent towards this.

This episode perfectly showcases exactly why Akito is the way she is; that old bitch has been the one to raise her since she was small and makes it okay for her to do things like imprison people, her mother is just another toxic influence in her life and she's burdened with the vision her father had for her. There's no way she deserves forgiveness but I understand that she's just as broken as the rest of the Sohmas'.

The tension in that scene between Haru & Akito was a brilliant representation of the current situation overall - it all feels like a rubber band that's being pulled too tight and ready to snap at any moment the way Haru did when he found out what Akito did to Rin. Things are shifting and changing for better or worse.

I love Haru in this episode. Gotta give me respects to him for fighting against Akito, the only person to do that thus far iirc. Almost breaking the "bond" in the process.

I hope that he breaks it later on. He and Rin deserve everlasting happiness.

Amazing episode! Some sad but also wholesome moments between Hiro & Kisa and Haru & Rin. I accidentally spoiled myself on the interactions between Haru and Akito, but it was still very satisfying to watch. I guess the curse on Haru is weakening. I wonder what it would take to break it. I was about to tear up at the end but those two kids who kept staring at Haru carrying Rin made me burst out laughing xD

Poor Hinata...why do all characters named Hinata have to suffer ;-; I honestly did forget about Hiro, but this is a great way to re-introduce him. The tears Kisa had were genuine. I just wish they weren't cousins ahhhh

I definitely think this might be the best episode? I miss the S1 characters and their interactions. That was peak shoujo.

I understand Haru's intentions, but Akito is being wrongly antagonized. People don't understand her or her past. I am not justifying Akito's behavior, but she is 100% a victim.

They aren't biologically related though. The Japanese language does not really have a word for fifth or sixth cousins so the people just end up calling everyone their cousins. It's also a misconception that members of a Clan are all related.. It is true that they shared a common ancestor hundreds of years ago,but enough time and marriages between outsiders have happened that the Sohmas are not considered biologically related anymore (unless explicitly stated).

Haru-nii did not come to play around... I really liked the imagery of the rope fraying just a little when he was set to go back into Akito's room and Kureno told him not to.

Nice Haru/Rin focused episode - and we also get to see a little bit more of how awful Ren is.

We also get to see a little bit of Kisa and Hiro, which was really sweet (and also now I understand that the baby in the ED with them is Hinata, Hiro's little sister). Lots of apologies going around, and it seems like the Zodiacs are all finally starting to rebel against Akito a bit more.

Just when I thought that Akito may become somewhat less insufferable, she does that. I just can't see a way she can be likeable in the end.
I believe this was the first time we see Haru so pissed off.

Amazing episode.

It started off real dark, but ended on a heartwarming note. Rin's "I'm home" was such a tearjerker.

Also it was cute how those two grade schoolers followed them lol

How fucked up Akito is in the head is becoming more evident, and how she got like that is becoming clearer as well. She was pitiful, honestly. She's also a victim in all this...

Finally, someone well and truly calls Akito out on her abusive bullshit, on her constant deflection of blame onto others and constant abdication of responsibility for her psychotic, evil actions. She deserved to have Haru's fist plow through her face multiple times for all the monstrous shit she's done, but I'll take that long-overdue telling off for the time being. That aside, that whole sequence gave us another hint of how the zodiac curse can be broken, and it seems to be that they have to break free of it of their own free will; Haru choosing to walk away in the end despite Akito's protests and begging seems to have been the catalyst to begin breaking his bond. And the emotional payoff for both Haru and Rin as they both take a step away from Akito's abusive oppression is utterly fantastic and one of FruBa's best moments so far.

I feel like a broken record when I keep reiterating this, but I don't care what sort of upbringing Akito had or how terrible Ren is as both a person and a mother, none of her actions are justified and I will never, ever feel sorry for her. Frankly, I'd consider her one of the most villainous, detestable characters I've ever encountered in fiction, and no amount of "tragic backstory" will change that; in fact, the glimpses into how even the servants in the Soma household enable her behaviour only hardens my stance on that.

Fuck you Akito. You deserve every piece of retribution, every "betrayal" coming your way.

Agreed. I've even seen some people saying "she has no choice because of her upbringing" She does not have a gun pointed at her head she does have a choice and she chooses to be a piece of shit.

DARK HARU IS BACK! I REPEAT, DARK HARU IS BACK!!!
This episode took me by a storm!
When reading the title "I'm Home" I got a couple ideas of what the episode would have in store for me. Since I already knew Isuzu quote on quote " had gone missing" in a previous episode I hypothesized that she would reunite with Hatsuharu sometime within the episode...

My hypothesis wasn't wrong.. BUT Oh BOY, I wasn't prepared for Haru to have such a clear character shift. He became much more aggressive and darker than expected when he discovered the truth behind Isuzu's injury, and for a good reason! I have no clue what's going to happen now that the Soma's are starting to go against Akito!
All in all, Episode 4 of Fruits Basket; The Final Season was great!

Hinata is an adorable baby omg just wanna pinch her chubby cheeks.

NGL I thought Rin died in the end of the episode and that she was hallucinating about Haru before her death but I'm glad she's still alive. She really needs to learn how to stay put in the hospital though, I'm surprised she's still alive despite always escaping from the hospital.

Those two little girls at the end though lol they were so adorable following Haru and Rin.

Haru and Rin probably is my favorite couple in this entire show. I'm glad Rin and Haru can finally be together.
