| Raphtalia nakama powers round 2, but this time theirs, not one ,but TWO lolis. (nakama = friendship, for those who doesn't know) Honestly the highest point of the show for me was the Raphtalia nakama powers round 1, in episode 4 I think... Then the show kept going downhill slowly by slowly and then they do the exact same thing with Raphtalia again, come on man. This is just dissapointing. What this tells, to me at least, is that theirs being no development between Naofumi and Raphtalia since episode 4. If Raphtalia loves Naofumi so much when Naofumi said he's going to use the rage boner or shield or whatever, Raphtalia should have put both arms on his shoulders, stared into his eyes and simple say NO, then if Naofumi had a brain he would have realized what he's doing. But no, we are going to do the exact same thing we did before, give this man a rage pill, then literally show this man a powerpoint presentation to remind him he has a harem and commence Raphtalia nakama powers round 2 but this time theirs, not one, but TWO lolis. I guess that's sort of development, from no lolis to two lolis. |

| Jesus Fucking Christ, what a disappointing episode. Where is this "amazing animation" that everyone is raving about? It was not smooth, even the part which was supposed to be satisfying, a.k.a the pope's death wasn't delivered well. The pope was charging up and they had a disgusting Fairy Tail moment of "nakamas" or friendship. Seeing Naofumi beng hugged by his loli harem was fucking cringey. Not the time nor place, you morons. LOL at Naofumi's Blood Sacrifice backfiring and drawing his own blood in exchange for a shitty cgi elimination of the pope, death by slinky. Also, what the fuck is with the queen's name? Why are do the Japanese love making foreign names with an emphasis on a single letter middle name? They are obsessed with that shit. I have seen so many Anime and read numerous manga where they love giving foreigners a middle name as if it matters to the story. |

| Aye, you are completely right that Naofumi's harem hugging him while the battle was on and Naofumi begging them 3 heroes for help by lowering his head were the worst elements in this episode. Although this anime got me used to seeing that kind of naive stuff out there, if you want me to be frank. |
| What was different from Naofumi's use of the Curse Shield this time and all his casual uses of it a few weeks back that meant his allies had to snap him out of it? Other than that, this episode was fine for what it set out to do, but it wasn't particularly groundbreaking or anything. At least with the Queen now present and active in the show we might finally get somewhere. |

| All I can think of after watching this episode was "Anime... Bloody hell!". After a nice short scene showing how the queen still has a hot figure at her age as she was getting her armour assembled, Naofumi decides that he would use the curse series shield again, which once again, it almost got the better of him, but Raphtalia, Filo and Melty all shared the damage and was able to get Naofumi to snap out of his trance. The battle against the pope that followed was hyped up with the 1st OP song, Rise from Madkid, playing as the battle ensued, which had some nice animated moments here and there. =) The pope was proving to be a bit of a nuisance, even after the queen showed up and was able to buy the group sometime with her ice attack, so Naofumi's last attack caught me by surprise at first. With Naofumi bleeding instantly, I thought the attack fully backfired on him, but although he was heavily wounded, he was able to unleash a CGI dragon that caught the pope and, in a rather gruesome finisher that would be up there with some Mortal Kombat fatalities, killed him at last. The queen then appears before the fallen Naofumi, her full name being Mirelia Q. Melromarc, claiming that she can heal him up again. Going by the next episode's title, it's pretty obvious that he'll be fine. Either way, this was a pretty good episode overall. =) |

Legendary overpowered weapon, almost unlimited amount of mana and no-one nearby to disturb his actions, at least for the most time of his battle. Again, he could fight equally with all Cardinal Heroes supported by several strong warriors as well. In my opinion the main problem with the Pope was that he had huge potential that was wasted by putting him in a position of a mere miniboss that was needed to trigger Queen's appearance on the battlefield. We could see a glimpse of his power, but were not able to experience more of it because he was defeated by being eaten by that terrifying attack, so I presume we won't be seeing him later, lol. I wouldn't like him to be a main antagonist of this Season, he simply did not fit in this role for me. However treating him like that was quite naive. As I said before, we saw a strong guy whose role was minimized to be a trigger for Queen's arrival and Naofumi befriending with the rest of heroes. |
| Why didn't Naofumi just used iron maiden instead of hurting himself with blood sacrifice. Still a great episode but next one will be better. (Manga readers knows what's up) |

| This episode is amazing. It has a lot of emotional moments and good fight But like always there is some crazy haters in every discussion forum who attack this anime over small unimportant details. CGI dragon looked fine, and it was just small part of the fight. |
| Not sure if I liked this episode or not. Some parts felt really good, but others not so much. The pope's voice acting for his death felt a bit on the weird side, sounded kinda awful even. Cool for Naofumi to sacrifice a part of himself though. |
| Man, I dunno, I feel like they running low on budget or something. I guess this should be epic battle of rising shield hero story arc, but we got like 3 episodes now where is more talking then fighting and when they fight is kinda... I dunno, lame? Three heroes are always in same screen, this time thanks god about first time they didnt' use same type of skill all at once, but positioning in this battle, like Kirito sword fights pope face to face, then he is suddenly on opposite side of battlefield, like in some old school rpg so other characters could do they lame attacks one after another... first episodes of this story was so epic I was considering reading novels, but now I can't really blame Japanese for thinking this is blown down. |

| well... I really don't like this fight ^^' ... so many ridiculous things... Pope looks weirdly weak, despite what the text keep saying... the "strongest" attack of his "cathedral" was just another generic energy beam that don't looks any different from all attacks until now... the arrows was ridiculous too... was supposed to looks like they were in real danger? not to mention that, when all four heroes and their allies attacked together, they actually caused some damage, but, for no reason in the next frame, the Pope was all right... (sword Hero slash his chest, lots of blood came out... then the Spear guy spiked him... and in the next scene he was all ok). Probably the faithfuls were healing him, ok... but was so badly done that, instead of build tension, like "no matter what we do, he don't fall", felt more like "we are winning, but Naofumi need to be the one to give the final attack, so, even if we portrait those attacks as super effective, the Pope will not die yet" and the queen... OMG, she just stand there, introducing herself while Naofumi was dying in the ground, XDDDD epic |
| The generic plot is so consistent that I'm legit rating this show as bad right now (not even boring, it's definitely bad). Can't belive I was giving this an 8 after episode 4. |

| very underwhelming arc. and even worse arc-ending battle. that was not even worth called a battle. really. animation, music, sfx, dialogue, i'm pretty sure it cannot get any worse than this. i preferred when naofumi and ganks go around places. |

| Yep, the whole fight could've been wrapped up in 15 minutes of previous episode. I suppose if they butcher the remaining fanatics alongside the red-haired whore, i'll accept the time waste...barely. Unless more exposition will be thrown in. |

| Naofumi's Shield of Rage's armor really reminded me of Haseo from .hack//G.U. back when he was The Terror of Death, it looks really cool, but in both cases the characters were consumed by hatred and only wanted to be stronger by any costs. Still, I'm glad that The Pope got what he rightly deserved. |

Cuz my impression was the filia queen gave him that as an "alternative" to the curse shield and yet he keeps defaulting to "WELL, it's OP time! Time to pull out the curse shield" Idk if I like his mindset if that is really what he's thinking every time he pulls the curse shield out.... |

| Ok, this ep actually made up for the past 2 ep! Of course, it started off with some really cheesy bs from the heroes and especially MotoyASSu for saying “We need to prove that friendship and strong bonds always prevail.” In addition here's a cliche scene where the MC gets consumed by rage and is about to become a complete beast, yet it's stopped by the power of friends and love in the form of his party restraining him. Really typical... BUT HEY! In the end, it leads up to an actually enjoyable battle. The teamwork felt so corny at the start, but when they're actually fighting it works and oh how I wanted for all the 4 heroes to fight alongside each other as an equal! And here is where all that comes together making for a great ep! But it did not end there... The greatest dose of weekly satisfaction from this ep is how the pope fucking dies. That blood sacrifice ability is really epic and gruesome, sacrifice ur blood in returns for your target to absolutely get fucking chewed!!! I really have to hand it to the anime adaptation for including that scene of the pope's face being torn off for a few seconds. That scene is so damn satisfying! Well, I'm expecting some really harsh eye-opening words to be spoken by the Queen. It would be great if she debunks the fact that Naofumi attempted to rape Myne, that would be soooo damnn appreciated! |

| agh this show bugs me i really hoped that would be cathartic but the victory didn't feel earned at all, and the villain wasn't interesting. dropping it another point because i really don't have hope for the story or the characters at this point. not to mention the butt-ugly cgi they keep using. |
| Over the last 2 episodes I'm really close to dropping this show. I have low tolerance for stupidity and this episode was full of it. What stopped these clinical retards from just exiting the hole before the pope finished channelling every single OP ability and just beating his ass? Every single little physical attack seemed to break his shields. Everyone attacking at once would have finished him but no, let's stay in the damn pit for TWO EPISODES. Also the rage shield is SO FUCKING STUPID LMFAO. It existed from the beginning, but now it has this badass dragon who if I'm not wrong, only appeared after absorbing the dead dragon corpse. A dragon so weak the sword hero could best him, but now he's super strong and his rage this rage that. Lmfao. But that wasn't the best part. The best part was naofumi going into rage mode as his trump card, cursing all 3 of his teammates in the process (all while everyone, including the pope just watched), then get returned to normal and everyone seems happy, but bro, that was supposed to be what gave us the edge in battle? why even do it in the first place then? The OP1 playing as if doing what they should've been doing from the beginning (just mercilessly attacking that old bastard) was epic. I found myself skipping a lot of this episode. Now, the actual best part is naofumi going for an insane finishing move that was not needed, adding pointless and edgy gore (would have liked to see that move used on Myne). Oh wait, the move was actually needed so that there could be some drama. The battle could not have ended without complications right? Aside from naofumi collapsing, there would really have been zero casualties or injuries. Of course he will be fine too, he's the main character. One more episode of stupidity and I'm out. Dropped the score to 5/10. |
