Wow this definitely reaches my top favorite episodes from this season so far. I've enjoyed the exposure that has been given on Akira & Hina. Their moment towards the end of this was surely the highlight of the episode. Also I'm really digging the new outro very much.

Ugh what a beautiful episode. I'm so proud of Hina for standing her ground and fighting back during class, before the parent-teacher meeting, and especially during her conversation with Akari. I loved how fierce Hina looked when she said that by going to class and graduating it was her victory! You go girl!

And poor Akari D: I was routing for her, and she was doing so well until she was asked for proof. I was yelling at the screen like "say that Takagi doesn't have proof either!!" so I was really excited when the head teacher said that lol. All the snaps to him this episode, he knows what's up.

Honestly, while I do feel bad for that teacher, she really had it coming. If the bullying kept happening every year, you're obviously doing something wrong and need to change your approach towards it somehow. If she didn't know what to do, she could have asked another teacher for help or advice, simple as that. Obviously this head teacher knows what he's doing and was aware of what was happening, so she could have gone to him.

I'm happy with the way this arc is coming to a close. Can't wait for the next episode to see Takagi's karma come back to her >:)

The escalation was real powerful. I get the pitiful teacher, but she should've gotten help or leave way sooner. Akari tried but too bad the other side was too tough, tho I expected more from her as the 'parent' role.
I like the head teacher stepping in, but would've worked better if he had earlier development. Since real bullying rarely has a random savior pop in. And proof thing is dicey since there are kids who feign victim to gain favor & pull others down.
Hina's amazingly strong tho.

Amazing episode! Just as when you thought there won’t be anymore awesome teaacher like Hayashida sensei, another great one showed up! It only took him a short screentime and he’s already showing us why he’s a Head Teacher! It’s clear that a strong teacher like him is needed in order to resolve the issue. And Kokubu was straightforward when he said that he wants the bullying issue gets resolve before the new teacher arrives. And I just gotta love the sinister grin on Kokubu-sensei’s face as a he told the bully and her mother off. xDD They better watch out because they’re certainly on his naughty list. Like he said they will have to pay a price. ^_^

Now I want to see the “next step” that Kokubu-sensei was talking about. :)

Well, Hinata's statement that matters took a slightly peculiar turn was spot on. For a moment, I was questioning whether I was watching Sangatsu or not. What happened to the elderly homeroom teacher was quite grim.

However, the teacher's misfortune paved the way for a solution to the bullying situation. The substitute teacher's concise way of presenting facts and denouncing conjecture was brilliant. His simple explanation was truly striking. As was the teacher's wide grin.

As for Hinata, that girl is a saint, not to mention the fact that her mental fortitude is off the charts. She even lent a hand to her distressed sister, confronting the bully's mother was agonising for Akari. At last, a solution to the predicament involving Hinata may be on the horizon.

A gripping episode from start to finish! Akari's plight is so sad, especially considering that she was so young when her mom passed away. Too bad gramps didn't attend the conference so we could see him transform into an Oni again!

New OP and ED are nice. I prefer the ED slightly. Animation for both OP and ED are full of symbolism as always.

Also, Hina has achieved levels of power this ep as yet unknown. It looked like Hina was going to knock out Takagi for a moment there.

So we getting down to parent-teacher counselling!
Kawamoto-gramps is so eager to go to the parent-teacher counselling! haha he's hyped-up!
Thumbs-up for the head teacher Kokubu-sensei! he is justice!

Also, Hanazawa-san voice is too goddamn perfect when voicing Hina-chan...

Really don't like the new OP or ED. The new OP is very much in the "style" of the artist and the animations are gorgeous but the song itself? Pass. I really dislike the singer's way of enunciating her syllables in the ED as well >_< Shame, I thought S1's songs were much stronger. However the episode itself was terrific. Really great animation in the first half with the teacher - I guess after teaching for so many years and seeing the same thing and trying and nothing getting better, you just sort of get numb to it all. However definitely seems as though the new head teacher is made of stronger stuff and wants to get down to the bottom of it. The conflict between Takagi's mom and Akari was pretty rough, but of course I can understand her position, even if they're obviously villainizing her. Having to provide "proof"? Yeah, that's gonna be real hard in a bullying case. Great props to Akari and Hina for having great scenes this episode as well, and seems like Hina hears from Chiho and some light shining ahead as they discuss the future. Great episode!

I really enjoyed this episode. New OP and ED were cool. Not my favorites but not bad. And it felt like a gripping and significant advancement in Hina's plot. I'm not sure how I feel about the crazy teacher. Felt a little broad to me. But her meltdown was kind of cool. And animated in a super trippy Shaft fashion. I like the new teacher. He reminds me a little too much of the Chairman. But he seems like a fun character.

What got me in this episode was Akari's story. She's one of my favorite characters. And I was getting some serious feels in that flashback with her Mom. Hina taking her to the nurses office was so sweet too. The whole sequence of the parent teacher conference was pretty powerful. And got this second cour off to a strong start.

Wow, I think this is the first time Rei didn't appear at all in the whole episode haha, fix me if I'm wrong. New Op and Ed, and yay another Unison Square Garden song, they've been really active recently, did the op for Ballroom e Youkoso and Kekkai Sensen, and this season for Sangatsu no Lion. Yeah, this is a great eps, Akari and Hina, I'm rooting for you, and the new teacher is the real MVP hahaha. I remember someone said that this world is dangerous because the people didn't even care about something like this and now it's really happening in the real world, it's sad though.

Man, I am seriously in the minority, because I absolutely loathed this episode. I feel like it was the worst episode in the series by far. Hina's sister breaking down after such a minute confrontation after such big determination, and then the teacher making her look like the weakest chump ever without even trying. I was just trying to hold back the cringe from the unbearable weakness she was exuding to that bitch of a mother.

I just really don't see the appeal. The first half was alright I suppose since the teacher's issues made it interesting, but I'm in the series for Rei and Nik rather than the girls. I don't see how all the main characters (Rei and Nik really since I feel these girls have always had more of a supporting role until recently) can be so weakly passive all of the time. I guess I don't like the direction the series is taking now focusing over half of the sequels episodes on a bullying stint that doesn't even directly influence the main character in a way that he can intervene. Ready for the focus on Hina and her sister to be a supporting focus again.

That woman sensei was one pathetic teacher, to be defeated by a student how useless can you be. This Kokubu sensei seems to be reasonable and intolerant of bullying. Things are finally looking and thanks to that useless sensei for not coming back.

I liked how strong Hina was in this ep and not let that that girl prosper. But if it was me though I would've kicked her ass right in front of the class. Great ep.

First things first shoutout to the fucking new teacher! this man knows how to handle the situation besides the part where he left should've told them kids find someone else lmao, but yo the old teacher a dumbass glad shes out of here she couldn't handle the heat letting all that nonsense go on in that class. The mom was a dumbass too getting all riled up i was soo heated i wanted to come in for my bae Akari i wish kyouko or grandpa was there that hoe would've got shut down. Btw akari bae do not blame yourself theres times when even i cant answer at the exact moment in tough situations and like hours later i end up finding something to say after its all said and done i hate that about myself but like i said Akari your totally fine do not worry at all if anything im glad you didn't bring the flame on her because the dumb hoe wouldn't be able to take it Hina was like a lion shaft animated her scene really well in the class when we thought something big was going to happen lol lovely this was a ball of emotions. 6/5

YES! Finally the teacher breaks down and shows us why she is the way she is!

She irks my nerves so bad every time something goes right over her head.

The big sister stayed strong and that's what I was looking for. Tbh, I actually wanted one of them to burst out and throw a tantrum showing someone that bullying isn't okay and that it needs to stop.

Props to the new teacher, he comes in and get things settled!

UNISON SQUARE GARDEN yet again delivers a great opening song. God I love them!

Every single person in this anime that came in contact with the whole bullying thing turned into a fucking cowardly retard that when it counted, unable to do a single helpful thing. Leave it to a completely new character to solve shit like it was supposed to be solved long ago. I truly hate this arc.

The OPs of this show just keep getting worse. Thankfully, the ED is decent.

Probably my favorite episode so far. And yeah, I was expecting Akari to hold her own during the confrontation, especially after she showed so much resolve. But I guess she wasn't prepared for someone as vile and unreasonable as that girl's mother.

But what the hell is a teacher doing getting caught up in bullying and getting bullied herself? You're a teacher ffs. Use your authority to enforce order and discipline. If they still refuse to follow the rules, then suspend them. If more schools did that, there wouldn't be as much problem with bullying. Same goes for universities overrun with unruly SJWs.

Yeah, using authority would definitely solve the problem... if you want the victim to end up being a social pariah for the rest of school and the mental effects that might carry into college and beyond. Might be a slippery slope, but fuck it, let's just have a dictatorship because authority is the only thing that can bring about peace. Wonder how that's worked out in the past. And who knows what empathy even is, since the girl could've also been a victim but can't simply tell the mom to fuck off because authority. Even after punishment, she'll continue to play the victim and feel justified in doing horrible things to other people because that is what they deserve. Makes you wonder what caused the SJW issues in the first place that you speak of (I don't like them either).

Also, love the hypocrisy going on for some people. If bullying were really going on, I'd bet you wouldn't risk your job or social status to even stop it. Glad to see how the show's so impactful it brings out what people really think.

So, enforcing basic rules and code of conduct, and especially the rules that forbid people from harming others, is now dictatorship? Sure, she might be a victim too, but that doesn't justify her actions, and she needs to be stopped, with the threat of punishment, if need be. Once that's done, they can move on to finding what the root of the problem is and try to solve it.

And the SJW issue, for the most part, is as a result of poor parenting and a general lack of proper authority figures in their lives, who didn't put their foot down and tell them when they were wrong, and that the world doesn't revolve around them. You can see some of that in Takagi's case, but instead of being completely careless, her mother took it to the other extreme. But that doesn't make authority inherently bad.

It's not outright dictatorship, just something I just took to the extreme.

Anyway, so what you're saying is a better solution would be to have mixture of some form of punishment coupled with some resources to determine (and hopefully solve) the roots of the Takagi's issues while she's away? I don't think it's a bad idea... never really liked Takagi getting off scot-free and Hina took things much better than I ever would.

Back to the SJW thing, I think it's pretty admirable to be fighting for a cause they believe in, but when it's backed by things like "muh feels" rather than presenting concrete stats about how racism/sexism/whatism is prevalent among such and such from reputable sources, it's comical. If it weren't for these sorts of people we probably would still hate on black people for no good reason.

I'm not crying, you're crying!

But seriously this was such an emotional episode. Although I understand where the previous teacher was coming from, it was infuriating to see her not do anything about the bullying situation when she knew it was happening. Mr. Kokubu was what this class really needed. He's stern and level headed enough to handle this situation up front. He's clearly not putting up with any of the bullshit and truly wants to resolve this issue as quick and efficiently as possible. Excited for the next episode. When I saw at the end with the chapter being called "Light" I got so happy.

You know, as much as I hated the original homeroom teacher before, I felt bad for her. For whatever reason the class decided to turn on her, wearing her down to skin and bones until she ultimately collapsed. Middle schoolers really are the worst.

The new homeroom teacher, on the other hand, is the GOAT and is able to save the day. I was afraid that nothing would be able to be done because of the lack of concrete proof on either side, but his line about "what to do next" suggests otherwise.
